The next day, Xania was reluctantly sitting down at a table opposite the door that had just swung open by Anise, carrying a thick book before dropping it down on the table, making a loud ‘thump’ sound, causing dust to scatter about, Xania flinching away in response.
“What is this…?” Xania said, fanning the dust away with her tail while covering her nose and mouth with her hands.
“Study.”
“No, why… how is it so dusty?”
“Because I hadn’t had to teach for very long.”
“You taught before?”
“Yes, stop changing the topic, I’m not going to start talking about my old career choices instead of teaching.”
“...”
“Fine…”
Xania used some magic she had learnt from the elves to clean the dust off the book before reaching out to open it, finding it to be a…
“Dictionary?”
“Yep,” Anise said, sitting down beside Xania, pointing to a word.
“Read this.”
Xania looked at the word before turning to look at Anise, who had a serious and stern appearance.
“Seriously?”
“Yes.”
Xania sighed before answering, “The word is ‘the’ happy?”
“Yes, now the next.”
“They.”
“And the nex-”
“No! This is a waste of time.”
“Fine, if you can read a word on the 1000th page, you may go.”
“Easy!”
Xania flipped to the 1000th page confidently, her confidence almost dying immediately as her eyes scanned the page.
“That word, read it and tell me the meaning.” Anise pointed to a word, covering the meaning of the word which was below the word itself as Xania tried to read it.
“Flo…ci…na...cini…lipi…li…fi…cation?”
“What does it mean?”
“Uh…”
“Floccinaucinihilipilification. Here’s an example. My floccinaucinihilipilification of deciding how good your English is does not affect you, because it isn’t an opinion but a fact.”

“...”
“It’s not like I’ll ever use such a word!”
“Too bad, you agreed already.”
“You—!”
The door suddenly creaked open before Xania got the chance to insult Anise further, catching the attention of the two as they looked up, finding Ella standing there, peeking at them.
“What do you want?” Xania asked, trying to mask her annoyance.
Ella threw a paper aeroplane in response before running away as Xania caught it and opened it.
Please come to the room?
-Elvia
“...”
Xania looked up at Anise, who reluctantly allowed her to go, following her as she ran out.
They both stood outside the twins’ door before knocking and entering, finding Elvia asleep, which confused them.
“They have a bunk bed?” Xania muttered to herself as she entered, Ella hiding on the top bunk while Elvia slept on the bottom one.
“Hey” Xania said, walking up to her and poking her leg as she woke up confused.
“What are you two doing here?”
Xania passed her the paper as she stared at it before lying down, kicking the top bunk, inciting a small squeak of surprise from her.
“I didn’t write that, it was she who did… She probably just wants me to tell you the thing.”
“What thing?”
“Nothing important,” Elvia said, rubbing her eyes.
“Then why did your timid sister come to our room to pass us this paper?” Anise asked in confusion and suspicion.
“Fine, fine, if I tell you, will you leave us be?”
“Yeah sure,” Xania said as Anise opened her mouth to say something to make sure she didn’t insult Ella or Elvia, annoying her.
“We got chosen as heroes, no clue how it happened, didn’t even know elves could be chosen,” She said sleepily before lying back down.
“What?” Xania asked, confused by what Elvia had just told her suddenly, Anise no less confused than Xania.
“What is there to understand? The tree chose us somehow, the queen wanted to make us do experiments—painless ones, but a huge waste of time, hence why we’re still here.”
“Doesn’t there need to be a requirement to become a hero or something?”
“Not really? I used to think being human was the only one, but no longer., I thought that was obvious enough. Next thing you’re gonna tell me you didn’t know the elves have a god.”
Xania stared in confusion at Elvia, surprising her.
“Seriously?! Didn’t you read from our library before? The majority of them have information mentioning god, even if it doesn’t go into specifics.”
Xania stared at Anise, who stared back, annoyed.
“You knew?”
“Obviously! Even monsters with minimum intelligence have a god!”
“...”
“Oh… Sorry for being stupid…” Xania said while staring into blank space.
“Let’s go back to studying now.”
Anise started to walk towards the door as Xania followed, stopping as she felt something poking her and turned around, finding Ella having come down, poking her slightly, trying to get her attention.
“Yes?”
Ella quickly ran to Elvia, pulling her off the bed to her annoyance.
“Fine, fine, couldn’t you have done something like this in the afternoon when I’m not sleeping?” She complained to herself before turning to Xania and Anise, sighing.
“Our god also gave us a message…” Elvia said, quickly shushed the two before they got the chance to speak.
“Hey, I’m the tired one, I speak first. Our god said that they are going to stay neutral.”
“Really?”
“Well, I didn't quote it word for word…”
“...”
“The meaning is still the same, okay? So that means that it's nothing big okay?”
“Wait, don't we need some evidence first?” Anise finally spoke up after thinking about the situation.
“Why? This doesn't hurt you even if I didn't tell you. Besides, how would I prove it?”
“No clue, use divinity or something?”
“Oh wait, I think I have an idea…”
Elvia stared at the bed above her, pushing it gently, annoying Ella as she perked over the edge, Elvia kicking it and chasing her to fall off, being caught by Elvia by growing a pillow to allow her to fall onto it instead of the floor.
“Her, she has a better connection with our god, it'll work.”
“How?” Anise asked, watching Ella slowly get up, hitting Elvia who ignored it.
Eventually, Ella stopped, climbing back onto her bed and taking a small transparent orb from under her pillow.
“What's that?” Xania asked, taking it as Ella passed it to her.
Ella poked it before hiding behind Elvia, leaving a tinge of divinity inside as it started to spread like dye in water, slowly filling the orb up with a greenish-yellow coloured divinity.
“Hello there,” a voice came from the orb, surprising Xania as she poked it continuously, annoying Anise as she took it over.
“Who are you?”
