Goku’s decration left everyone shocked, “I give up, I know how strong you are and there’s no point in continuing I can’t beat you.” Goku said looking up at Cell.

  “YOU COWARD!!” Vegeta shouted in anger

  “Kakarot what are you doing?” Raditz said

  “What!?” “No don’t do it” Krillin and the others all said simir things in surprise at Goku’s decration.

  “No… dad what are you doing?” Gohan asked in shock

  “What he’s giving up?” The announcer asked looking at Gohan and the others, who just nodded at him. “Ladies and Gentlemen, it seems like Goku has given up… I don’t know what to say folks as long as I’ve known him, he has never given up when faced with tough odds. If he can’t beat Cell, I don’t know who can.” The announcer said.

  “You can’t just give up and expect to walk away, I’m not finished.” Cell said looking down at Goku.

  “Sure, I can those are the rules you set up, I give up which means that you win the match.” Goku said looking at Cell

  “Well, if that’s how you want to do this Goku, you can just quit and then I’ll just destroy the pnet like I originally pnned.” Cell said angrily

  “No Cell, just because I gave up, doesn’t mean the tournament’s over, there are still one more fighter left to fight you.” Goku said

  “… fine who is it, Trunks, Piccolo, Vegeta, or… can it be Tien please tell me it’s him.” Cell said looking over at the group.

  “… what did you do to him, to make him act like that towards you Tien?” Gohan asked looking over at him.

  “Nothing much, I’ll tell you about it if we make it out of here alive kid.” Tien said smiling.

  “Nope, the fighter who’s going to beat you is a lot stronger than me, so if he can’t beat you than you win.” Goku said with a smile.

  “Fine, Goku who’s this amazing fighter who’s stronger than you?” Cell asked

  “It’s your turn son.” Goku said looking up at them.

  “WHAT GOHAN, YOU PICKED HIM, HE WASN’T EVEN ONE OF THOSE I MENTIOND!!” Cell yelled at Goku.

  “… what?” Gohan asked in surprise, “Why did dad call me, I don’t know what I can do against Cell. My dad is stronger than me and if he can’t beat Cell how can I?”

  Goku then flew up towards where the group were standing, “You can do this son, I know you can.”

  “GOKU STOP THIS, THINK THIS THROUGH IF YOU SEND GOHAN OUT THERE, HE’S GOING TO DIE!!” Piccolo shouted at him.

  “Listen, guys Gohan has this amazing power hidden within him, think about it, he’s been able to keep up with all of us since he was a child. When I was his age, I wasn’t even half as strong as he is.” Goku said looking at them.

  “Kakarot, while I agree with you that Gohan is very strong especially for his age but, I’m not going to allow you to send my nephew… your own son out there to fight Cell, without you giving me a very good reason.” Raditz walking up to Goku.

  “Guys trust me, I wouldn’t do this without a very good reason, if I didn’t have faith that Gohan could win, I wouldn’t do this.” Goku said as he walked up to Gohan and kneeled in front of him. “Tell me son, when I was fighting with Cell did you have any trouble keeping up with us?”

  “… no, I could see everything but that’s only because you guys weren’t fighting seriously.” Gohan said looking up at his dad.

  “I don’t know about Cell, but I was fighting with everything I had, you thought I was holding back because you have been comparing the energy from me to your own energy.” Goku said pcing his hands on Gohan’s shoulder and looking into his eyes.

  “What! Gohan is that true?” Raditz asked

  “Yes, but you could see them too right Raditz?” Gohan said looking at him

  “No, I couldn’t… Gohan, I could barely keep up.” Raditz said looking at him

  “I know you can do this son; I believe in you. Now go out there and win so we can all go home.” Goku said smiling at Gohan, “One more thing son, you are so much stronger than you think you are.” Goku said with confidence.

  “… alright dad I will do this.” Gohan said looking at his dad, who smiled at him and stood up, Gohan then took off his white cape and tossed it on the ground before flying over to where his dad was standing earlier.

  “HEY CELL CATCH!” Goku shouted as he tossed him a senzu bean, “It’s a senzu bean eat it, I don’t want you to have any excuses for when you lose.” Goku said with a smile.

  “Thank you Goku, I’ll eat it but I’m fairly certain I don’t need this to kill your son.” Cell said with a smile before eating the senzu bean and completely recovering, as he powered up, “Now this is amazing… let’s start.”

  “Folks it seems like Goku has sent out his own son, Gohan to fight Cell, now this will be my first time seeing him fight, but if he’s half as strong as his father then I have to believe that he might stand a chance.” The announcer said.

  “Fine, Gohan, I’ll face you but once I beat you, I want to fight you again Goku!” Cell said looking at Goku.

  Gohan looked up at Cell before he powered up causing a whirlwind of dust to surround him as a strong gust of wind blew away from him sending lots of rocks flying into the air, as a yellow aura appeared around him. “I’m ready Cell.”

  “… hmm looks like your dad wasn’t lying about your strength, but he was lying about you being stronger than me.” Cell said as he flew down to the ground behind Gohan.

  “It seems that the young Gohan is ready to fight Cell. I guess it’s time let the third match of the Cell Games… Begin!” the announcer said as he raised his arm and brought it down.

  Gohan looked at Cell as he got into his fighting stance, Cell unched himself at Gohan and tried to kick him, but Gohan blocked it with his forearm as Cell looked at him with a smile. Then Cell turned and tried to kick him again, but Gohan blocked it again, Cell then nded on his feet and started punching Gohan.

  Gohan blocked all the attacks as he dodged a punch Cell threw as he flew past Gohan and flew into the air before coming back around and trying to kick Gohan. Gohan flew into the air and dodged the attack, as Cell came back around and tried to attack Gohan again, but Gohan vanished.

  Gohan nded on the ground before he flew back to the air after dodging another attack from Cell, Gohan was in the air as Cell appeared in front of him and started throwing punches at Gohan, but Gohan dodged them all. Cell backed away from Gohan and looked at him with a smile, “You are pretty fast, how about we start kicking things up a bit.” Cell said as he vanished and headbutted Gohan in the face, before grabbing him by the colr and started punching Gohan in the face repeatedly.

  Once, Cell finished punching Gohan in the face, he let go of him and kicked him into the ground, Gohan wiped a little blood that was trickling from the side of his mouth, as he looked up at Cell smiling. Gohan got back up and back into his fighting stance looking up at Cell, before getting serious again.

  Cell nded in front of Gohan, “It seems like its time for round two Gohan.”

  Cell walked in of Gohan, “Let’s do this Cell.” Gohan said looking at him, Cell just smiled before he flew into the air and started firing ki bsts at Gohan. Gohan dodged them as he backflipped away, as Cell charged at him firing another ki bst at Gohan who dodged it.

  Cell kept firing more and more energy bsts at Gohan who moved around the arena and kept dodging the attacks. Cell then charged down towards Gohan and disappeared and reappeared behind Gohan and punched him in the face followed by a kick, then an energy bst to the face. “Good fight kid, but it’s time to end this.” Cell said as he fired the energy bst at Gohan sending him flying crashing into a mountain as it crumbled on top of him.

  Gohan powered up as the rocks around him were destroyed, Gohan felt some blood flowing down his forehead and from his lips as he slowly started walking up towards Cell, before stopping in front of him. “I finally know why my dad sent me, to fight you.” Gohan said looking at Cell

  “Oh really, why don’t you enlighten me then.” Cell said looking at him with a smile.

  “Ever since I was a kid and I got backed into a corner… I would snap… and when I do I hurt people.” Gohan said realizing why his dad had so much faith in him. “When that happens… my power skyrockets and… I lose my mind…and all I see is red. I think that’s why my dad sent me out here to fight you, he believes that if I snap here…there’s no telling what I can do.” Gohan said looking at his hand as he closed it into a fist before looking up at Cell.

  “Hmm… interesting story Gohan, but that just motivated me to see this power for myself.” Cell said as he punched Gohan in the face sending him sliding backwards where Cell then appeared behind him and punched him down before he started stepping on Gohan, pressing him into the ground. “Come on kid get angry, show me this power.” Cell said as he pulled him up and started punching him in the face before knocking him into a mountain.

  Gohan got back up as Cell rushed towards him and tried to punch him, but Gohan dodged the attack and kicked Cell in the face sending him backwards. Cell slowly got back up and stared at Gohan as blood slowly leaked out of his mouth. “It seems like, I might get through to you, but this process will take too long… I think I have a way to speed this up.” Cell said with a smile as he wiped the blood from his mouth.

  Cell started firing an attack that Frieza used to kill Vegeta back on Namek, a purple beam of energy fired from his finger, Gohan dodged each attack as Cell flew towards Gohan and tried to grab him, but Gohan used the Afterimage technique. Cell passed through him as Gohan appeared behind and kicked Cell in the back sending him flying into a mountain as it crumbled on top of him.

  “hmm… that was a good attack… but this isn’t working either, and I running out of patience to slowly drag out your power. I have a better idea, let’s see, if you respond better to the safety of your friends, 1, 2, 3… 8 fighters. That should be doable” Cell said as turned around and faced the group on the cliff watching the fight.

  Cell’s stinger suddenly opened wide as he started struggling with something as 8 blue shapes shot out of his stinger before it slowly closed back up, those blue shapes were revealed to be 8 small blue figures that looked just like Cell.

  Gohan and everyone else were shocked by what they saw as the 8 figures turned around and faced Cell, “My Cell Jr’s, those 8 on the cliff are your enemies, go and have fun with them. Oh, leave the man with the sungsses alone we still need someone to call the action.” Cell said as the Cell Jr’s flew towards where Goku and the others were.

  (AN: Gohan hasn’t really fought back because in his mind his dad is stronger than him but once Gohan realized what his dad was pnning, he started fighting back. Gohan knows what he must do but he can’t access the power yet, he needs one final push to overcome that barrier. Gohan was slowly getting stronger as the fight went on, but Cell didn’t have the patience to wait so out, come the Cell Jr’s.)
