Fugitivity and cliffhanger

Well that other name I thought of earlier was just an in-the-moment thing, I would rather it be less intimidating. You know, I want some connection to my previous life. I may have already given in to this one, but everything that happened there still means something to me. I will set it as Avey.

  I suppose that will work.

Though I still killed a person.

He probably had a life. Family, friends, and things to do.

Sure, he tried to kill me.

  But still.

  Ughhh…

It is not time to get existential.

I guess I will check out these menu options. I have to get over myself.

  So to start with…

  Hmm…

Unknown woman: “I have been smelling this horrible odor in here for a few days, sir. No guard has checked it out yet, but I think it is related to the disappearance of Derek.”

Oh crap, people are here. And a guard no less!

Guard: “Well, I will check it out, but if it is related, I may have to refer to the higher-ups.

Oh crap, oh crap, the only thing separating them from seeing me is a single flap of wood.

Do I go for the door?

  AHHG!

I am going to run, they will see me, but I will probably escape.

  I take a step.

Unknown woman: “Did you hear that?!”

Guard: “There is someone in here. Probably a culprit.”

  Guard: “Come out!”

I bolt out the door and turn right into a forest.

  Guard: “A chicken?!”

As I run, I realize how much faster I am.

I am probably three times as fast as that guard.

If I am going to survive, I think I can kill humans.

Maybe being a chicken has changed some inherent moral compass, but I guess here, it is killed or be killed.

Not to be edgy or something, but I do have to survive. I will choose myself over them.

I still wish I never had to make a decision between this.

Amazing exp again, and a slight chance of death, seems fine.

  I hate this stupid system.

I see the guard snooping around, looking for me. I have second thoughts after seeing his plate armor and sword.

I sneak up behind him eyeing the gap in his armor between his helmet and his chest plate.

  *peck*

I am about to hit him when he flinches and snaps around instantly, blocking my attack.

  What was that?! A skill?!

Before I know it, he has dashed to my side raised his sword, and attempts to strike.

The second I notice, he is too slow.

  *POW*

I kicked him in the stomach, blunt attacks work better against that armor anyway.

Dramatically, he rolls across the ground and gets back up.

  Guard: “Goddamn chicken.”

Oh come on, you were already trying to kill me. Probably. After I already killed a guy.

I mean, still! Come on, I also need to live.

He raises his sword up very high

Like that will do anything, he is like 5 feet away.

  He lowers it, very quickly.

  Wait where is he?

  OW, FUCKING HELL!

I feel a horrendous amount of pain coalescing in my leg.

Except, my leg is no longer there.

  “B-GAWWWWWK!”

I scream in surprise, ready to rip this guy's eyeballs out like the last guy.

I turn around, but he is already on the floor.

  Sweating profusely.

Wow, what was that? Some fuckin’ ancient skill bullshit skill that seeps away your power?

I am essentially flexing over his body as I realize later that was probably a coping technique for the intense amount of blood loss I am experiencing.

  ???: “They went this way!”

Oh crap, that is probably more guards.

I guess I have to finish this guy off.

  *peck, peck, peck*

Wow, impressive, but I gotta go!

I sprint away until I think I am safe.

  *Whew*

As is a procedure, I will split between vitality and strength.

I grow quite a lot. I would say I am 5’ tall now.

  *ROAR*

  I turn around and

  Ohhh crap.
