Chapter 130: The Masked Man

Once, Kurisu ran away from her family, ciming they were too naive, too kind-hearted to survive in this cruel world.

But now, in such a critical moment, Kurisu realizes that she is no different. Kurisu is too naive. She always thought she was strong enough, but in reality, she is still very weak.

If only Kurisu had realized this sooner, if only she had practiced more, perhaps she could have avoided this deep sense of despair.

With an increasing sense of anxiety pressing down on her, Kurisu looks at the number of enemies surrounding them. Thirty-five people. That number is enough to make anyone feel afraid, and Kurisu feels it now. Her despair is intensifying.

Suddenly, an unexpected voice breaks the mounting tension.

"Hey? Are you having a costume party?"

The voice comes in a casual tone, as if nothing special is happening. However, in the midst of this threatening situation, the voice sounds like a joke that disrupts the already tight tension.

Instantly, everyone turns to the source of the voice.

There stands a man in a very striking outfit, wearing a bck cloak adorned with bright red clouds, and an orange-brown mask shaped like a swirl or spinning circle, with two holes for eyes.

The man's appearance is so bizarre, even in such a tense situation.

He appears shorter than expected, standing about 148 to 150 cm tall, far from a frightening figure. Even a girl who is 160 cm tall would look taller than him.

With such a contrasting appearance, the man looks like a lost child, even though his face is hidden behind the mysterious mask.

One of the men dressed entirely in bck squints, looking at the masked man with a cold stare. "Kid, go away. This isn't a pyground for you."

The masked man simply smiles widely behind his mask, as if unaffected by those words.

"Really? I thought this was an amusement park; after all, your all-bck outfits make it look like you're having a festival," the masked man replies pyfully, his voice carrying a clear irony.

One of the bck-cd men steps closer, gring sharply at the masked man. "Kid, do you really want to cause trouble?"

Casually, the masked man shrugs, responding in the same rexed tone, "Oh? Trouble? What trouble?" His voice sounds so calm, as if he is not intimidated at all by the approaching man.

Without saying much, the masked man sits on a fallen tree trunk on the ground, adopting a very calm demeanor, as if he is enjoying the atmosphere. Meanwhile, the man in bck steps closer, his intention clear—to deal with the masked man.

Suddenly, in an instant, the bck-cd man lunges forward with a kunai in hand, intending to stab the seemingly unaware masked man. However, as the kunai approaches, strangely, the weapon seems to pierce through empty air. There is no sound of a body being pierced, no blood spttering.

Before the bck-cd man can comprehend what is happening, the masked man's sword moves with incredible speed. Like lightning, the sword swings, and in one swift motion, the bck-cd man is taken aback as he sees the masked man's sword flying toward him.

The bck-cd man tries to dodge, but it's too te. With a very precise ssh, the sword touches the man's body. The head of the bck-cd man separates from his body, falling to the ground with a heavy thud. The split body follows suit, lifeless.
