I walk out into the hall, and don’t know where to go.
How could I find them?
A dog could smell them, and perhaps a wild fox, but my sense of smell is probably only a little better than a human’s.
I fix my nose to make it smell better.
The problem though is that I don’t know what most smells are.
A few wood, but just different fvors of it.
This sense is a world of its own.
It’s almost like how auras are described in books, I can sense where things are! But like a baby, I still can’t see with my sense of smell.
Meh, I’ll just use my outside view.
I quickly find them at a table, and then walk down the halls until I’m there.
As I approach the table, I hear “and speak of the devil.”
Ohh? Were they talking about me?
I ask “Whatcha talking about?”, and as I attempt to sit in a seat I fall to the floor.
“Stupid chair…” I grumble to myself as I stand up and situate myself.
Elowyn responds to my question “we were discussing you and we want to ask you a few questions.”
I nod and then stare at them.
There is a bit of tension now, even though my fall eased it a bit.
“So…” says Hercle, “you seem different, less refined.”
Less refined? What does that mean?
Oh, I forgot to reproject graceful.
I reproject graceful onto my body and respond, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
My body regains an elegance and grace.
“Uh-huh” says Hercle as he watches me.
“Why do you want us to join your religion” asks Durn.
Hmm… what reason should I have.
I could say my god is kind, but that would be a problem if I don’t fix anything.
I could also say nothing, or that my god’s purpose is unknowable.
Or I could say that it is part of my god’s purpose to have me go on this, just not mention another drive.
“For fun” I say, let’s see where a little honesty gets me this time.
“What?” asks Elowyn.
“For funsies” I reiterate.
“But why?” asks Elowyn, “most gods have more honorable or unknowable intentions, but I’ve never heard of one who does something ‘just for fun’”
I came up with a retort for something like this earlier, “well, the gods are higher than us, they are capable of experiencing more, but able to understand people. My guess is that things like this allows them to connect with us mortals.”
Elowyn just thinks on this, while Durn asks, “is your god evil? One of the evil gods I mean?”
I’ve not heard of this worlds religions that much, might be interesting.
“As you can tell” I gesture to myself, “I’m not from around here. Can you expin the evil gods to me?”
This world has a good deal of lore, but I won’t bore you with it all.
To sum it up, there are evil gods who invade every 1000 years.
They come from other pnes and wreak havoc, causing chaos and unrest.
They bring others from their pne to hide in society.
No one knows their intentions, some debate if they have any at all.
Wow, I sound a little bit like an evil god.
I kinda want to cause chaos, came from another pne.
The 1000 years is coming up close in a few months.
I’ve infiltrated society with me and Serne.
I’m trying to start a cult.
I sound totally evil!
I did destroy a tiny pnet and trapped some people in a city, which kind of is. Kinda should let them out.
Am I one of these propheciesed evil gods!?!
I will not be evil and cause destruction on this world.
Perhaps I will join their war with my collective.
“My god’s true goal, is to gather soldiers for the oncoming war, blessing people with power to fight off the invaders. Or at least something simir.”
“Oh good.” Says Hercle.
We sit here, thinking about more to talk about. These three know each other, but I don’t know them, so I guess I don’t exactly fit their dynamic yet.
We need something to do, perhaps swim?
No, I just took a bath, that would get me dirty.
“Do you guys have any ideas of what to do?”
“We could bring the metal to a smith” suggests Durn.
“What’s with you and metal” says Hercle, “you don’t need to fit the stereotypes!”
Durn turns towards Hercle, “it’s metal! A strange metal from another world! It has strange properties!”
Metal? Did they get metal from my city?
“Metal from where?” I ask, although I’m sure I know where.
“We got it from a city in some type of ruin” replies Elowyn.
“And it was in another world?” I ask. I want to go back to the portal with them, maybe join them on their adventure.
I could also orchestrate a mystery, be the big bad on an adventure.
“Yes” responds Elowyn while turning towards Durn, “we can go to the bcksmith ter, also what could they do with it?”
Durn says while in a tone of false annoyance, “you offend me Elowyn, you assume that I don’t know what I’m doing.”
“Could you show me to the portal?” I ask.
“Sure” replies Hercle while pushing his chair out and getting up.
“Are you sure Hercle?” asks Elowyn while also getting up. “It might be a trap or dangerous, and Asterios” she gestures at me “doesn’t seem that experienced.”
“Hey!” I reply to her in mild indignation.
“How even old are you?” asks Durn, “You seem young and inclined to indulge in your whims.”
Well, my body is young.
I have no idea how years work here, so I just say “I’m an adult I assure you.”
“Anyway we’re going!” I say in decration.
We walk out, despite them being still unsure.
