Chapter 2 End
"I was going to ask you too." Lolita and Yin Xiang said while walking: "Who made you her good friend? She's not here, so you're the substitute."
"Alright." Just before the male guard walked away, Yin Xiang couldn't help but turn her head towards the VIP passage. The crowd had unknowingly dispersed at some point, and the romantic sound of the small piano was no longer there. It seemed as if everything had been a beautiful dream, including that handsome man who was unforgettable at first glance. Uninteresting, she shrugged her shoulders and walked towards the male guard.
She arrived at the men's dormitory, and as usual, Yin Xiang knocked on the door to confirm that there was no one inside before kicking it open. In an instant, she was shocked and her lower jaw almost dropped to the ground.
It was only because, in the men's lavatory, there was a tall man with an elegantly curved profile, his face as cold as frost, his large hands clenched into fists, and blood oozing out from between his fingers, slowly dripping onto the smooth marble floor. The shattered mirror in front of him reflected multiple shadows of his handsome face.
"Are you... the man who was just rejected in his proposal?" Yoon-ah asked cautiously, taking small steps forward, and when she got a clear look at the man's chiseled handsome face, she confirmed once again.
Although the chill emanating from his body made Yīn Yīng somewhat fearful, she still spoke with good intentions: "Isn't it just being rejected? It's no big deal, you'll definitely meet someone better. Today wasn't just you who was rejected, there were three other men before you who were also rejected..."
Listening to the sound of the cicada-like chatter in his ear, Gong Jing Sheng's clenched fist made a cracking sound. He had never felt that the three words "being rejected" were so piercing to his ears. That annoying girl who appeared out of nowhere kept repeating it over and over again. His thin lips pursed into an unpleasant straight line: "Shut up!"
His low, ominous voice made Yin Qing shut her mouth obediently, and with a bright, big-eyed glance at his clenched fist, she muttered to herself that good intentions don't always get rewarded. She began sweeping the floor with a broom, when suddenly, a dazzling diamond ring on the ground caught her full attention.
She didn't need to think, she knew it was the man who had just failed in his proposal and threw it away in a fit of anger. She picked it up, glanced at Gong Jing Sheng who looked like an ice block, and carefully put the ring on her finger.
"Just wear it for a bit, and I'll return it to you right away" Slender white fingers were just the right size to be secured by the ring. Under the fluorescent light, this ring emitted an unusual glow!
"You have a phone call......" Gong Jing Sheng came back to his senses, slightly furrowed his sword-like eyebrows, took out the mobile phone from his pants pocket, and after scanning the caller ID, answered: "Grandma."
"You little scamp, where are you? Didn't you say that on Grandma's 80th birthday, you would bring back a daughter-in-law for Grandma? Today is the day you fulfill your promise." The old man's gentle voice in the receiver was full of doting love and expectation.
"I..." Gong Jing Sheng's words got stuck, he who usually handled matters with swift and decisive action suddenly became hesitant, unable to bear the thought of disappointing his most beloved grandmother.
"Ah, why can't I get this ring off?" Yin Xiang struggled to remove the ring from her finger, her small face reddening with effort. She tried using hand soap to lubricate it, but it still wouldn't budge. Finally, she looked up at Gong Jing Sheng with pleading eyes: "Your ring..."
He glanced at the ring on a certain woman's slender hand, and Gong Jing Sheng's evil eyes flashed with precision. "I'll bring her back tonight," he said to the other end of the phone. Hanging up the call, Gong Jing Sheng's sharp eyes scanned Yin Xiang from head to toe.
