Jodan is in English css with his chin resting in his left hand. He is sitting in the middle row half-listening to his English professor. All the English cssrooms have cherry wood desktop surfaces with four metal legs, a dark gray cubby, and a bck cushion chair. On the walls are posters that expin the different types of writing genres and positive quotes. On the left side of the cssroom are two rge rectangur windows. The teacher's desk is gray metal with a bck executive chair behind it. Behind the desk and chair is a bck chalkboard.

  On it is their assignment for the day following the lecture.

  Jodan meanwhile is looking out the window.

  'I wonder what css Karan is in right now.'

  Over in New Natalie's state capital of Chelsea stands a white two-story building. On the second level, a man is inside a small boratory. The boratory walls are gray with bck baseboards and white minate flooring. Hanging on both sides of the boratory are white cabinets with gss doors. On the bck pstic countertop are several gss beakers and a sink with a cartridge-style faucet. Scientist Rory Beaudreaux is standing at an isnd counter in the middle of the room.

  He is in his te fifties with pale skin and a sunken face with liver spots on his cheeks. His gray hair is styled in soft spikes and dark blue eyes. He is wearing a white b coat, a brown polo shirt, gray scks, and bck dress shoes. He is looking at his bubbling beakers in excitement.\

  "Today is the day. After fifteen years I was finally able to create a serum to eradicate demons and super-humans!" Rory excims csping his hands together.

  Moments ter, rumbling is heard in the upper ventition system. Rory looks up at the ceiling before the vent cover drops to the floor. Seconds ter Suto drops from the vent and onto his feet. Rory runs away horrified. Suto smirks before running after him. When Rory looks back he sees Suto has disappeared. When he turns around he sees Suto standing before him.

  He palms his face sending him flying into the wall. After his blurred vision clears Rory draws a bck pistol and points it at Suto. He smirks and raises his eyebrows amused.

  “It's been a long time Rory or should I say Dr. Beaudreaux," Suto says.

  He suddenly charges towards him and lifts him into the air.

  "It's been twenty-five years since our st visit Dr. Beaudreaux." Rika says from the doorway.

  Suto releases him and steps aside.

  Rory's shoulders are penetrated by Rika's fingers before being lifted into the air and pinned to the wall.

  "W-What do you abominations want this time?!"

  "We're not abominations we're human just like you doctor."

  "You know just as well as I do that you're not human."

  Rika smiles at his statement.

  "Coil and lift."

  Silver chains appear and wrap around Rory's body and hoist him into the air.

  "This interaction could be easier if you just cooperate."

  "As if! Whether I help you or not I'll get screwed over in the end!"

  "Tighten."

  The chains tighten around his neck causing him to struggle and drop his gun.

  "W- What exactly do you want to know?"

  "Loosen slightly."

  The chains loosen around Rory's neck.

  "Rumor has it that you know how to recreate Yoroi's Amulet and I want you to replicate one for us,"

  "Y-you heard wrong. I don't know how to recreate such an ancient artifact."

  "I'm exempry at gathering information Dr. Beaudreaux and I've never disappointed my leader and I'm going to start now," Rika says crossing her arms.

  "Well, there is a first time for everything."

  "You sure do have a lot of gumption for someone who's in between life and death." Suto comments.

  "You're absolutely right Suto," Rika says smiling at him.

  "What do I get out of it?" Rory asks getting their attention.

  “As history was written you've already received your reward. Remember back in December 1968 when you attempted to resurrect your wife and four children? You were given a two-for-one special. Not only was your life spared but God took your semen away. Not long after that I came and helped you get back on your feet and you soon acquired prominence. Before me, no one dared to speak your name nor did they allow you into their social circle. Speaking of helping, I never received a thank you for assisting you. It's okay because I'll be receiving it soon enough." Rika says before looking over at the beakers.

  “What is it that you're currently working on?"

  “None of your damn business."

  Rika looks at him and rips his polo shirt.

  “Either you can tell me voluntarily or I will choke it out of you. It's entirely up to you."

  “Go straight to hell you evil bitch!" Rory retorts before spitting in her direction.

  Rika rips his pants and underwear to shreds before slicing his penis and scrotum sack.

  “Ah!" Rory cries as his organs descend to the floor.

  “Now are you going to tell me what those chemicals are being tested for?"

  “God made humans to be superior to all other creatures on this earth! Somehow demons, super-humans, and your kind managed to come into existence. Was God not happy with us being the object of his affection?"

  “God cast out the proudest and most beautiful angel Lucifer for refusing to kneel before humanity and for attempting to overthrow him. Lucifer believed mankind to be inferior to angels. He ter became known throughout human history as the slithering serpent trickster Satan. All beings are capable of good and evil, but as history is written mankind always surrenders to their fleshly vices or as Christians vehemently call it sin. To top off their arrogance they think they're beyond reproach and the destiny God has prepared for them. It's absolutely appalling if you ask me.”

  “Are you trying to preach to me after you just severed my penis and scrotum?"

  “Not at all. I've read the original bible which is actually written in Hebrew. It encompasses the real truth about man and what God asks and desires of mankind. I have no desire to convert anyone into a believer. They must have to want to do that for themselves. However, what you've been doing in this boratory is criminal against God. Ultimately, Jesus will be your judge, and I hope he doesn't deny you before his Father. Release."

  The chains release Rory who drops to the floor. Rory crawls over to his penis and scrotum.

  Rika gives her attention back to the beakers.

  “If you kill me someone will resume my work! Those chemicals are the long-awaited answer to demons, half-demons, super-humans, and your kind! It's a serum that if drank nullifies super-human's abilities, purifies demon's, relinquishes half-demon demon blood, and dissolves your very body."

  The st part of statement gets Rika’s attention. Rory attempts to crawl toward his gun but Suto steps on his back and turns him on his back. Rika pces the beakers inside her jacket.

  “Suto, dispose of Dr. Beaudreaux and his boratory. I don't want any traces of him or his forbidden works discovered." Rika orders before walking out the door.

  Suto grabs Rory by his neck and lifts him into the air. He proceeds to pummel his stomach. Rory spits out mouthfuls of blood before being slid across the isnd counter and face-first onto the floor. Suto grabs him again and throws him across the room into the wall.

  "This is going to be so much fun!" Suto beams cracking his knuckles.

  Rory looks at him fearfully as Suto approaches him smirking.

  It's third period at Misaki-Owens Academy and Kiseki and Ai are in English. Kiseki is working on the assignment in earnest with a smile. Ai is sitting across from him watching him work.

  “Hi, I'm Ai Minami."

  “It's nice to meet you Ai, I'm Kiseki Ko."

  Ai blushes profusely.

  “So Kiseki, are you and that girl you were sitting next to in Calculus dating?"

  “What gave you that idea? We just met today at breakfast. She was just helping me get through the period because I suck at math."

  “Oh, well, you guys look like you could be a couple."

  “I'm sorry but I'd like to get back to my assignment."

  “Oh right. I should too."

  They resume their assignment.

  Up on the second floor, Chishiki and Yukanna are in Physics. The walls are white with bck baseboards. The desks are white with four white metal legs and orange office-style chairs. The teacher's desk is bck metal with a white executive chair behind it. The chalkboard is bck with only the professor's name written in cursive on it. All around the room on the walls are formu posters. In the back corner is a rge turtle aquarium.

  Inside the aquarium is a rge female sea turtle. To the left are two rge rectangur windows. Chishiki and Yukanna are sitting beside each other in the middle row working on their assignment.

  “Who would have surmised that the professor would ask us to write a one-page paper about ourselves and then read it to our css. This feels like an English-based assignment." Yukanna says.

  “This is a perfect assignment for those who suffer from public speaking. But at some point, they're going to have to face their fear. I'm sure we're going to be given group projects that require interpersonal social interaction and presentation in front of our peers. If you ask me not reading in front of everyone is socially crippling." Chishiki replies with his eyes closed.

  When he reopens them he pushes his gsses further onto his nose.

  "Well in that case I've never lied about who I am so I'm not going to start now."

  “That's how you should always be," Chishiki says gncing at Yukanna.

  He then gives his attention back to his paper.

  Totsu Joo is walking through the woods of southern Misaki-Owens. After an hour she approaches a tall brick fortress with two wooden doors with metal trim. On both sides of the gate are matching towers. Standing outside the towers are two males with rifles. When they see Totsu they aim at her.

  “Humans never know when they're outcssed nor do they learn after the fact." Totsu comments.

  Brown branches sprout from her back and form into three cws at the end. They charge swiftly towards the men and grab them. They are then lifted into the air and smmed face-first into the ground. Seeing the blood spill upon impact makes Totsu smile happily. She then walks forward and forces the gate open with her branches. Upon entering the fortress Totsu is surrounded by several demons. Some are semi-naked and some are fully clothed.

  The demons range from ogres to pigs, and oxen. They are wielding scythes, battle axes, and sickles.

  “Queen Mizu doesn't allow strangers here. She doesn't allow guests she sends for them." a male cat demon says walking forward.

  The demons clear a path as Totsu retracts her branches. The cat demon has white fur with bck whiskers, yellow sclera, and bck slits. He is wearing a bck and gray military-style outfit with bck combat boots. On his back is an olive-green staff with gold tips. Around his waist are explosives and a pistol.

  “You're absolutely correct in your statement. Mizu didn't send for me but someone of incomparable power sent me to retrieve her." Totsu retorts.

  “You will address Queen Mizu by her title. She is the queen of this castle and this territory. All intruders are subject to physical removal and death if verbal redirection fails."

  “She must really have your minds severely warped. Since when do demons take orders from someone of another kind. She's not a queen and you all are fools for believing her to be so. Now as I said I was sent to retrieve Mizu and I'm not leaving without her."

  The cat demon growls bearing his fangs.

  “Everyone, take shelter in your cabins now!"

  The other demons scurry away as the cat demon draws his staff.

  “I'm going to give you one st chance to leave voluntarily."

  Totsu stares at him icily.

  “You've chosen death. The next light you will see will be of your soul being sent to your maker!" the cat demon shouts before charging towards her.

  Totsu draws a sword with a gold cross-guard and blocks the cat's staff. Totsu pushes back against his staff and begins rushing him. The cat demon roots the staff swings around and attempts to kick Totsu who blocks him with her bde.

  “I see you're not some weak Neanderthal." the cat demon taunts.

  Totsu smirks as a branch appears behind the cat which grabs a grenade from his waist and throws it on the ground before detonating.

  As the smoke fills the air the cat demon uses this opportunity to charge Totsu by coming from different sides. He nds a kick to her abdomen and a punch to her face which sends her flying a few feet away.

  “This battle is inevitable your abomination. Give up now and you can walk away with your life." the cat demon says grabbing his staff.

  As Totsu gets to her feet her bruises disappear. While shocked Totsu charges towards the demon. She throws her sword in the air.

  'Just what the hell is she thinking throwing her sword away?!'

  Totsu unleashes a plethora of slices to his abdomen.

  She finishes her assault by impaling him in his chest. She uses her foot to remove him from her bde. He flies several feet into an empty cabin, destroying it. Totsu smiles while he holds his abdomen. Moments ter he leans over and stops breathing.

  “If she chose you as the guardian of this horrid pce she definitely chose poorly. Demons and their loyalty really are something to behold. It's never appreciated nor is it rewarded. Unfortunately, you didn't learn that lesson." Totsu says cockily walking passed the rubble.

  “Mizu, ready or not you're returning to the Hallow Phantoms."

  Totsu looks at the white two-story Federal-style mansion ahead smiling.

  Rei is sitting on the throne looking through Lolita's Gothic-style mirror. In it, he sees Katsumi walking through the forest. Instantly an angry expression makes itself present on his face.

  'Robin, Katsumi is fifty feet away. Be on guard. If she tries to enter the castle, battle her, and if worse comes to worst annihite her.'

  “There's a face I haven't seen in three centuries. I thought she would have been dead by now." Lolita comments.

  Rei chuckles.

  “Trust me when I say she's the real deal. Don't let her youthful appearance fool you. With that said, I'm not worried about her at all. Robin is more than a match for any spiritual being be it human or demon."

  Lunchtime approaches and all the students are in the cafeteria. Kiseki finds his same table from breakfast and goes and sits down. On his tray is a hamburger, French fries, sliced peaches, and a carton of white milk. Seconds ter Lotus comes and joins him. She has a chili dog, French fries, and potato chips.

  “So, how's your first day going so far?"

  “It's been going great since Calculus. You know as much as I hate Calculus I'd rather go ahead and get it over with. Thanks again for helping me out."

  “You're welcome, and that's a good outlook to have."

  “And that's exactly what's going to be your Achilles tendon," Chishiki says getting their attention.

  “What are you doing here? You've made it quite clear you don't like me. Plus, you could have sat anywhere."

  “First of all, you're a bad judge of character and stly all the other tables are full. I'm sitting here solely due to social circumstances."

  On Chishiki's tray is a taco sad, a fruit cocktail, and a carton of white milk.

  “What do you mean by a bad judge of character? You gave me the impression you didn't."

  “I never said I didn't like you."

  Kiseki's defensiveness starts to slowly subside.

  “Then what was up with all that arrogance in the first period?"

  “That wasn't arrogance that was the truth, and the truth hurts."

  “I can't bme you for your bluntness, I actually appreciate that despite my initial reaction. My father is naturally blunt but with you, I felt like there was a target on my back before our eyes even met." Kiseki expins before biting into his hamburger.

  “So this is where you ended up."

  “Hello, I'm Kiseki and this is Lotus Hana, and this is-"

  “I'm Chishiki Muchi. We have third-period Physics together."

  “I'm Yukanna Senshi. It's nice to meet you all." Yukanna says smoothly before sitting beside Chishiki.

  On Yukanna's try are a bean-fvored burrito, peas, sliced oranges, and a carton of chocote milk.

  “It's nice to meet you Yukanna. I hope we can all become friends at some point."

  Yukanna looks at her wearily before cutting into her burrito.

  The st to join them is Jodan. He has a chicken-fvored pot pie, mixed vegetables, and a carton of white milk.

  “I hope you all don't mind if I sit here. The rest of the cafeteria tables are filled. I'm Jodan Tomodachi." Jodan says happily sitting down on Kiseki's right.

  “The more the merrier!" Kiseki says excitedly.

  The rest of lunch is eaten with several different conversations taking pce.

  Katsumi approaches the bridge and Robin flies down and takes her human form.

  “Leave this castle at once!"

  A sword appears in Katsumi's hands.

  "You will not block my path."
