A certain Adventurer's Guild branch office.
Mei brought Sunia to the counter.
"Please assign me a mission."
After completing the mission, the chubby Sunia was taken away by the branch office staff, and Mei received 250,000 Nak in payment.
Her Personal Spatial Storage overflowed with funds; the points were instantly swallowed by the vast sums, insignificant as a drop in the ocean.
The interface updated.
【Completed Commissions: 2/3】
Mei didn't delay on the third commission, immediately accepting a mission to search for ancient writings in a particular ruin.
In the blink of an eye, she handed a sheet of paper covered in ancient script to the counter worker, leaving the worker stunned and suspecting he was being tricked.
After professional verification,
The counter worker, with a dumbfounded expression, marked the mission as complete. The person hadn't even left the guild; where did she get the ancient text?
【Completed Commissions: 3/3】
With three commissions completed, the Main Mission was also completed.
【Main Mission · Phase Two · Complete】
【Points Acquired: 3000】
【Main Mission · Phase Three: Over countless years, this world has buried countless secrets. Become a high-ranking member of any organization or nation, gaining access to high-level classified information.】
【Mission Reward: 8000 points】
"..."
Mei raised an eyebrow. This mission was practically a gift. The vast majority of this world's secrets were already visible to her; moreover, she had just become the Grand Marshal of the Tulip Agency.
Forget high-ranking officials.
Her position surpassed many kings, second only to Tulip Avery, the agency's director.
Therefore,
Effortlessly,
The third phase of the Main Mission was deemed complete.
【Main Mission · Phase Three · Complete】
【Points Acquired: 8000】
【Main Mission · Phase Four: This world has experienced multiple destructions. Uncover the truth behind one of this world's destructions.】
【Mission Reward: 20000 points】
The truth behind one of the world's destructions?
That was a problem.
Hum—
Within the branch office, Mei used Truth Manifestation to transform this world's history into a book. Her thoughts raced as ancient texts rapidly scrolled before her eyes.
She reached the final page, covering the present era.
She found nothing.
Mei sighed.
"This is troublesome."
Each destruction of this world had left it more incomplete; too many truths were scattered in the void after the world shattered.
Those were realms beyond Truth Manifestation's reach.
Or perhaps…
A deep glint flashed in Mei's eyes.
Perhaps the truth hadn't been scattered into the void after the world's destruction. Perhaps the clues and traces remained within this world, merely hidden.
If that were the case,
It meant the power concealing the truth was at least Tier 6, possibly even Tier 7—powerful enough to block Truth Manifestation's observation.
Or a powerful higher-level conceptual force.
Or an equally powerful higher-level conceptual Ideal.
Lost in thought,
Mei remained vigilant.
Lacking immediate clues, she could only postpone the fourth phase of the Main Mission. She materialized in a wilderness area and took out two items obtained after her transaction with the Tulip Agency.
A Grand Marshal's commission.
And a bottle of perfume emitting a faint fragrance.
The commission needed no explanation. The perfume was a Willpower Vessel, a dream-like Willpower Vessel from an ancient ruin, its origins untraceable.
Its effect was simple: it could fulfill the wielder's wishes. The stronger the wielder, the greater the power to fulfill the wish.
Pffft!
Mei sprayed a puff of perfume into the air. A faint scent diffused, and a fist-sized fairy-like girl, seemingly bursting into flame, descended from the sky.
This was a promised spirit.
The promised spirit's eyes, clear as water, danced around Mei, its joyful demeanor carefree and heartwarming.
"My lord, what wish do you desire? Many have summoned me, but your power is the greatest I have ever witnessed!"
The fairy-like girl expressed her awe and admiration.
Mei didn't hesitate: "Make me the strongest being in the Infinite Worlds, surpassing all others."
Of course, that was her primary wish.
"..."
The fairy-like girl's small face froze; she couldn't comprehend the meaning of those words. She merely attempted to grant the wish, only to encounter immense resistance.
More than half a day passed.
The fairy-like girl, her face flushed, breathlessly gave up.
"I'm sorry, my lord. I cannot grant this wish. It far surpasses your power. Please make another wish."
A compromise.
Mei remained resolute: "Then make me reach Tier 8. If that's impossible, Tier 7 will do. Try to fulfill this wish."
Her main goal was to enhance her power. Mei knew this wish far exceeded her capabilities and was essentially impossible to fulfill.
But it was worth a try.
A moment later,
The fairy-like girl regretfully stated, "My lord, these two wishes are still too difficult. Please lower your expectations."
Mei was prepared for this and felt no disappointment.
If that wasn't possible, she'd try a more general approach: "Then increase my strength as much as you can. Make me stronger."
"No problem!"
The fairy-like girl perked up at this wish; it was clearly within her capabilities. She clasped her hands and prayed to the heavens.
In an instant,
Boom!
Mei's internal energy surged dramatically. Spacetime violently vibrated, warping to the extreme and nearly obliterating all matter.
Tzzz—
Lightning crackled through the air; the intense void energy was tightly contained around Mei to prevent significant disturbances and destruction.
【Enhancement Successful】
【Star Spirit ·LV33?】
【Star Spirit ·LV34?】
【Star Spirit ·LV35?】
In one go,
Mei's Star Spirit level jumped from LV32 to LV35. Her perception range expanded from 20 million light-years to 50 million light-years.
This meant she had surpassed the initial stage, entering the mid-Tier 6 rank. She estimated that reaching LV40 with Star Spirit would allow her to reach Tier 7.
"My lord, your wish is granted. I hope to see you again!"
The fairy-like girl politely bowed and vanished. Simultaneously, the perfume bottle in Mei's hand began to shatter. She attempted to reverse this process using causal force.
She failed.
Bang!
Finally,
The perfume bottle exploded, leaving only a lingering scent and shards of glass. Mei understood; this item's origin seemed to touch upon high-level power.
Even causal force was ineffective. Mei immediately thought of the Book of Truth—the complete Book of Truth.
...
Early morning, dawn breaking.
Ding-ling.
The sound of a bicycle bell broke the silence.
The night's chill receded.
The number of people on the street gradually increased. It seemed like a normal, unremarkable day, until the newspaper was distributed, its front-page headline catching everyone's eye.
The entire world buzzed.
"Big news!"
"Big news!"
The young newspaper vendors shouted, holding up their newspapers: "It's true! Tulip announced yesterday the appointment of its third Grand Marshal, titled Aure!"
"What?!"
Passersby were astonished, scrambling to buy newspapers.
"This is incredible! After all these years, they've finally appointed a new Grand Marshal. I wonder how powerful this new Grand Marshal is."
"Need we even ask? The position of Grand Marshal speaks for itself!"
"That's true."
Everyone knew that the Tulip Grand Marshal rank signified extraordinary combat power. Legend had it that each one possessed the strength to quell a national rebellion single-handedly.
This wasn't just a military rank; it was a symbol of absolute power, representing Tulip's strongest fighting force—monsters standing atop the pinnacle of power.
For several hundred years, Tulip had never had more than two Grand Marshals. This was the first time they'd broken precedent, appointing a third.
It was imaginable.
This Grand Marshal, powerful enough to warrant a special appointment, could only be stronger than her predecessors.
Furthermore,
The true identities of the Grand Marshals were always kept secret. Aside from a select few who knew their names and appearances, this information never appeared in the papers.
Outsiders only knew their titles.
Aure!
This was the title of the new Grand Marshal.
That day,
The world was in an uproar.
Every nation reported the news immediately; ships and airships spread newspapers and news to even more remote locations.
The appointment of the new Grand Marshal swept through human civilization like a whirlwind.
In some remote small town, a traveler brought the latest newspaper, informing everyone of this world-shaking figure.
A young man training ran past, hearing the name.
"Aure?"
He memorized the name, vowing to challenge her someday.
Beep—
A ship's horn sounded in the sea breeze; a flock of white seagulls flew overhead. Blaise sat on the deck, holding a copy of the newspaper.
"Aure…"
If he remembered correctly, that was the name. While it could be a coincidence, he strongly believed this newly appointed Grand Marshal was that person.
A Grand Marshal!
If before, his estimation of Mei's strength had been mere speculation, now it was almost certain: that person possessed strength standing at the peak of power.
Blaise's smile grew unsettling.
The stronger Mei was, the more intense his pursuit and desire for a challenge became. Only by defeating such a peak powerhouse could he gain true satisfaction.
"Just you wait."
Platinum City, Adventurer's Guild branch office.
Saches put down the newspaper and gazed at the horizon, feeling both unsurprised and astounded. He knew Mei was powerful.
But the title of Grand Marshal was still deeply shocking. As for the identity of this new Grand Marshal, he believed it could only be that person.
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
Sea Town.
"It's Aure!"
Sullivan stared at the newspaper headline, shouting excitedly. Thinking of Mei becoming this formidable figure, he couldn't help but feel his blood boiling.
Besides these individuals, many Void Wanderers also knew this news. It was a major event, spreading rapidly. Even those who didn't want to know would find it hard to avoid.
However,
Most people had no direct understanding of the Grand Marshals, only knowing they were powerful. Regarding the new Grand Marshal, they had even less information.
Civet's hand swiftly moved across the newspaper, feeling a familiar pang of pain in his consciousness.
"Tsk!"
He threw the newspaper away as if it were a burning coal—a feeling so familiar, so much so that he didn't dare confirm his suspicions in the void.
That would be akin to lighting a lantern in a restroom—suicide.
Somewhere else,
Boom!
A colossal beast, massive as a mountain, crashed to the ground, snuffing out all life. The powerful shockwave spread outwards, instantly shattering the earth.
A figure landed on the beast's corpse. Its tall, muscular physique contained unimaginable power; subduing such an ancient beast was effortless.
Its sturdy body exuded a wild, unrestrained aura, more savage than a wild beast.
He looked at the newspaper in his hand, a cruel smile twisting his lips.
"A new colleague."
...
Mei traveled through the wilderness, sensing the presence of useful or interesting artifacts in this world. Finding something to further enhance her power would be ideal.
Suddenly,
The previously tranquil sky and earth stilled; spacetime seemed to freeze.
Then,
Hum—
A massive Kabbalah Etz haChayim, the Tree of Life, shone in the air. Fiery celestial flames descended in an instant, engulfing Mei.
Boom!
Carrying a high-level attack imbued with the will to destroy all things, the pure Ideal transformed sunlight into divine punishment, blasting a bottomless abyss into the earth.
If the attack had been slightly stronger, it might have pierced this incomplete world. The sheer power was truly unimaginable.
In the distance,
A young woman watched the divine punishment descend. Her silver-white hair danced in the wind; her pupils were an eerie silver-white.
Even more striking was the black number 10 tattooed on the back of her left hand. Combined with the Tree of Life shining behind her, it held deep significance.
The ten spheres on the Tree of Life represented ten different constitutive elements, the tenth being the Sefirah Malkuth, representing the Kingdom.
All matter formed the kingdom.
"So, that's it."
Within the celestial fire, Mei's figure reappeared. She emerged unscathed, enlightened. When the girl had used that power and manifested the Tree of Life, she finally understood.
That's why Truth Manifestation couldn't sense the presence of such powerful forces in this world: they were using the power of truth!
The truth was shattered.
They used Ideal to recreate and manipulate the truth!
This girl possessed one-tenth of the power of this false truth. By manifesting the power of the tenth Sefirah, Malkuth, on the Tree of Life, she gained the ability to manipulate all matter.
Her strength was at the level of several Tier 6 individuals.
The complete truth undoubtedly possessed overwhelming power far exceeding Tier 7, but this was merely a counterfeit, a fragmented version, only Tier 6. Mei wasn't lying.
Seeing that Mei was unharmed, the girl, expressionless, decisively launched an attack. She commanded all matter and energy, aiming to eliminate Mei.
Surrounding light was drawn in, forming a massive war spear, imbued with the will to pierce the world and immense destructive force, instantly striking.
Boom!
The spear of light shattered the void, resembling a bottomless pit, voraciously absorbing all matter and energy, tearing and twisting spacetime into a vortex.
Then, in the next instant, it abruptly stopped mid-air.
Boom!
A violent burst of void energy erupted, revealing a colossal Self-Awareness structure. Mei unleashed the true power of the Void Demon God without reservation.
Reality Alteration Technique instantly transported both of them into a temporarily constructed world.
Super Burst!
Two hundred thousand times her power surged forth, an immense, terrifying force crushing down, shattering the spear of light.
Mei was cautious by nature. While the girl had only displayed manipulation of the tenth Sefirah's material power, Mei didn't rule out the possibility of hidden strength.
In the most extreme scenario, the girl could wield the power of all ten Sefirot of the false truth; however, that was unlikely; otherwise, she would have attacked with full force from the start.
Regardless,
Mei wouldn't underestimate her opponent. Approaching the battle with the intent to utterly crush her enemy was the safest course of action.
In that moment,
Mei's imposing figure dominated the sky and earth. The entire fabricated world was a scene of destruction; the terrifying energy washing over her annihilated anything it touched.
"As expected."
The world-shattering pressure descended, yet the girl remained unharmed, her expression grave. "Your existence is a grave threat!"
With that,
The Tree of Life's phantom behind her emitted a blinding light. The tenth Sefirah transformed into a shimmering, transparent crystal, protecting her. Then, Mei's two hundred thousand times power struck.
Boom!
The fabricated world shattered completely, leaving only nothingness. Within the turbulent void, a transparent crystal drifted amidst the void energy.
However,
The one trapped within the crystal was Mei.
A delicate white hand lifted the crystal. The girl stared intently at Mei, imprisoned within. This was the ultimate subjective power of the tenth Sefirah.
A reversal of fortune!
She had reversed their situations. This crystal, a manifestation of the tenth Sefirah, possessed Tier 6 conceptual-level, unbreakable defense. In other words, it was a cage.
Despite Mei's high estimation of the girl's abilities, she hadn't anticipated such overwhelming strength. However, Mei's power wasn't limited either.
Most notably, this fabricated world hadn't collapsed.
Just as the girl believed she had successfully imprisoned Mei, an even more terrifying power erupted suddenly. The crystal, a manifestation of the tenth Sefirah, should have been indestructible.
Yet, it shattered instantly under this power.
Limit Break!
Boom!
Tier 7 causal force and Truth Manifestation, utilizing absolute authority, crushed the girl's imprisoning power. When conceptual forces clashed, the higher level would hold an absolute advantage.
Supreme power overwhelmed all. The girl's expression changed drastically. Before she could react, the higher-level causal force instantly severed all her remaining possibilities.
Today,
She had only one outcome: death.
The reversal of fortune was rendered ineffective; the causal force locked and suppressed all her remaining possibilities. Realizing this, the girl understood she was facing death.
Knowing that unnecessary words would only provide her opponent with information, she still questioned Mei before her demise: "You...obtained the power of true truth?"
Not the false truth.
But the true, genuine truth.
"..."
Mei didn't respond.
She didn't immediately kill the girl but attempted to exploit her current advantage in authority, trying to access the girl's memories through the ālaya-Vij?āna.
Mei always disliked being in a passive position. She wanted to see who was behind this attempt on her life; the reason, even without explanation, was likely connected to the truth.
Hum—
Just as she was about to access the girl's memories, the Tree of Life phantom appeared behind her—the very thing that had been blocking Mei's perception.
Before Mei could act, it vanished into the void, decisively abandoning the girl. Tier 7 causal force couldn't restrain it.
This revealed something to Mei.
This Ideal didn't belong to the girl; the true manipulator of the false truth was someone else entirely, someone possessing the power to resist Tier 7.
It could be confirmed that this person hadn't reached Tier 8; otherwise, they wouldn't have bothered sending the girl, a single thought being enough to crush Mei.
With the Tree of Life phantom gone, the girl's memories were no longer hidden. Mei instantly accessed the girl's memories through the ālaya-Vij?āna.
False truth.
The tenth Sefirah.
...
The girl's name was Mai, a divine being from the tenth Sefirah, Malkuth ("Kingdom"). From the moment she gained consciousness, she was a vessel for the tenth Sefirah.
She served the one who granted her the tenth Sefirah as her supreme master, acting as his sharpest sword, slaying all enemies in the world.
Beyond that, she knew nothing. While she knew other Sefirot vessels existed, she had never met them.
She didn't know the appearance, identity, or name of her supreme master.
This time, she was acting on her supreme master's orders to eliminate anyone attempting to repair the truth. It was also a test of Mei's strength by her master.
This was all the information Mei obtained.
Not much.
But at least it wasn't complete ignorance.
The supreme master knew she was trying to repair the truth and was willing to sacrifice a vessel to test Mei's power.
"Supreme master…"
Mei's eyes turned icy. Supreme authority washed over her; the absolute causal force completely suppressed and eliminated the girl, who instantly dissipated into void energy.
From the moment the girl appeared, Mei was no longer completely passive. The supreme master, though watching from the shadows, dared not act rashly.
He hadn't ascertained Mei's strength and thus sent the tenth Sefirah vessel to probe. Now that he knew Mei possessed powerful Tier 7 strength, he would likely refrain from reckless actions.
Both were Tier 7; one wielded higher-level conceptual power, the other the power of false truth. It was difficult to say who had a greater advantage.
But one thing was certain: Mei would ultimately win. Endless battles and deaths would propel her power to even greater heights.
Even if the Supreme Master combined the power of all ten Sefirot, Mei wasn't at full strength; she had never truly revealed her complete power.
Now it was a matter of seeing how patient the Supreme Master was.
If he preferred to remain hidden, so be it. Mei didn't mind; the longer it took, the closer the truth came to being repaired, and the stronger Mei would become.
Until the Supreme Master could no longer restrain himself.
Hum—
Reality Alteration Technique retracted. Mei's figure returned to the real world, as if nothing had happened, continuing her journey along the road.
...
Somewhere in the world,
Hum—
A phantom Tree of Life shone in the air, displaying ten Sefirot; only the topmost one was exceptionally clear.
That was the first Sefirah, Keter ("Crown"), representing the source and beginning of all things, possessing supreme power surpassing all others, dominating the world.
The moment the Tree of Life phantom appeared, the tenth Sefirah, Malkuth, corresponding to the first, transformed from vague to distinct, signifying its return.
"Mai…"
On a throne,
A figure opened its eyes, a profound depth within them. The tenth Sefirah vessel had been destroyed; the person repairing the truth was stronger than anticipated.
"Causal force?"
Its brow furrowed.
Moreover,
That person seemed to possess another extremely powerful conceptual force, but its nature was too complex to identify.
The situation was becoming increasingly difficult.
As Mei had predicted, his power didn't surpass Tier 7; his Sefirah vessels were incapable of conceptually suppressing Mei.
Should he intervene personally?
He didn't want to watch the truth being repaired step by step.
Ideal undoubtedly possessed the power to surpass its limits, but it wasn't guaranteed to activate; it was a matter of probability.
Before fully understanding Mei's abilities, he didn't want to gamble on probabilities. If he lost, the consequences would be catastrophic.
Probability manipulation.
This was a realm he desperately wanted to enter, but it was a power only true truth possessed; his counterfeit truth, created with Ideal, lacked it.
Probability manipulation!!!
Suddenly,
His pupils constricted; he seemed to have an idea. Causal laws, to a certain extent, involved the manipulation of probabilities. If that person also wielded Ideal…
Immediately,
He abandoned the idea of personal intervention. If that were true, it meant that person hadn't used their full power when eliminating the tenth Sefirah vessel.
It was a trap!
If he rashly attacked that person, the consequences would be unpredictable. He felt a chill of fear. The problem returned to its starting point.
What should he do?
The situation was even more complicated.
Excellent.
This was a calculated gambit. Mei scorned playing games with this kind of person. Either you reveal yourself so I can kill you, or you hide well and watch me repair the truth.
She wanted to see if this Supreme Master could see through this, how he would choose—regardless, it would be uncomfortable.
...
【Repair Progress: 34,230/100,000】
Two months had passed, and Mei hadn't encountered another Sefirah vessel attack. The Supreme Master hadn't chosen to immediately confront her either.
She felt a touch of disappointment.
"Seems they've chosen to remain hidden."
Mei even had to give them that much credit; at least they hadn't recklessly charged in, otherwise, Mei would have easily dealt with them. No exaggeration.
As long as it wasn't a Tier 8 entity, whoever came would die.
"Be careful! These are precious artifacts!"
Meanwhile,
A grey-haired scholar with spectacles directed his students to carefully excavate artifacts from the ruins, his enthusiasm evident.
Elsewhere,
Several adventurers searched the surrounding area of the ruins, meticulously examining every clue, hoping to unearth treasures or artifacts.
"Ugh!"
An adventurer disgustedly tossed aside a broken pottery shard. "It's all junk! No artifacts, not even gold or jewels?"
"Careful!"
The grey-haired scholar lunged forward to catch a crumbling jar that almost fell, his voice sharp. "You're an adventurer, and you don't know the value of these artifacts?"
"Old man, what's it to you?!"
"It's my business! If you dare damage any more artifacts, I won't spare you!"
"What? You wanna fight?"
"Bring it on! This old man isn't afraid of you!"
Different scenes unfolded across the ruins. Some found precious historical artifacts; others actually unearthed gold and jewels.
Some even found artifacts.
Of course,
Some also lost their lives.
Bang!
The entire ruin suddenly shook. A booming sound echoed, a bizarre colossal beast bursting forth from beneath the ground.
Battle erupted.
Boom!
The battle engulfed the entire ruin, its force spilling outwards, debris flying everywhere. Mei, unseen, passed through the conflict unnoticed.
Then,
She stopped before a stone pillar with strange carvings. The pillar cracked open, revealing a gem that slowly floated out and landed in Mei's hand.
Crack!
With a slight squeeze,
The gem crumbled into dust.
Hum—
A mystical aura flickered and vanished, then appeared within the Book of Truth. Another fragment of truth was acquired, the repair progress rapidly increasing.
【Repair Progress: 42,230/100,000】
Progress reached 40,000.
The fourth upgrade task was complete.
【Upgrade Task 4?Complete】
【Receiving one random reward】
【Willpower Vessel · Advanced Enhancement ?】
The Book of Truth infused a surge of power into Mei's body.
"Huh?"
Mei was surprised. This reward was truly random and thorough; it even advanced her unmanifested Willpower Vessel.
At her level, simple multiplicative enhancements offered minimal power increases. Using conceptual force as an example, this advanced enhancement upgraded the lower-level concept to a higher-level concept.
Ideal also had this definitional boundary. This was equivalent to forcibly elevating Mei's Willpower Vessel's power by a level.
A dramatic enhancement.
While Mei didn't know the specific Ideal of her Willpower Vessel, receiving this advanced enhancement was certainly worth celebrating. It made her eagerly anticipate the complete manifestation of her Willpower Vessel.
At that point,
Mei's strength would undoubtedly experience a significant boost.
Thus,
Ten years passed in the blink of an eye. Mei traveled as a leisurely adventurer across various nations, enjoying herself immensely.
Until one day,
A news article dominated the front page: two renowned Legions, the Raitei Legion and the Nova Legion, clashed, affecting over a dozen nations.
Consequently,
The Tulip Agency was forced to intervene, but the results were unsatisfactory. The conflict between the two Legions was irreconcilable, the war escalating.
This was getting interesting.
Mei recalled that these were top-tier Legions within Hyperdimensional Space.
Void Wanderers who could enter this mission world were at least Tier 2. This level of strength was considerable in this world.
Most Willpower Awakeners were only at the Tier 1 level. Recall that Saches and Blaise, unable to reach Tier 2, were already considered masters.
Furthermore, the Void Wanderers possessed various powerful equipment and items, as well as Legion resources. Some individuals in the two Legions could even exhibit Tier 3 or Tier 4 strength.
Over ten years of development, the Void Wanderers had firmly established themselves in this world. The major Legions, after consolidating their forces, had expanded their influence.
Now,
The Raitei Legion and the Nova Legion were powerful forces with considerable influence in this world, their territories encompassing numerous countries.
Even minor actions could significantly impact these nations; a conflict between these two Legions would be even more impactful.
"Latest news!"
Children selling newspapers ran through the streets, shouting: "The war is escalating! The two Legions are locked in a standoff on the border of the Euc Kingdom! Seventeen kingdoms may be dragged into the conflict!"
"One newspaper here!"
"I'll take one too!"
On the street,
People read the newspapers, worry etched on their faces. If this war truly broke out, the consequences would be catastrophic. It wouldn't be limited to seventeen kingdoms.
It could easily spark another world war.
The sky was heavy and overcast.
It weighed on everyone's spirits, filling them with apprehension.
"It's not really going to erupt into a major war, is it?"
"I hope not…"
Even optimists couldn't help but worry about this tense powder keg situation. The Tulip Agency's mediation had clearly failed.
The standoff between the two Legions grew colder.
The conflict stemmed from a ruin discovered a year prior. Both Legions had found a powerful artifact there.
Initially, there was some civility, but an unexpected conflict escalated tensions. Repeated skirmishes, culminating in a recent clash, led to the current crisis.
Among the Legion Void Wanderers, there was a well-established distribution system designed to prevent such situations. Different Legions adhered to this system.
The problem was that the two major Legions in this world had recruited too many locals. They weren't Void Wanderers, and were difficult to fully control with the rules.
Frankly,
This was a case of things spiraling out of control.
Being only Tier 2 Void Wanderers, their experience in controlling large Legion forces was limited; such a situation was inevitable.
On the border of the Euc Kingdom, at a secret outpost,
Two important figures from major Legions met here. They weren't simply Void Wanderers; unlike the imagined sword-clashing confrontations, these two figures showed no hostility whatsoever.
It was a rather absurdly helpless situation.
The Raitei Legion's supreme commander in this mission world was Claude, a powerfully built middle-aged man with short black hair, strong as a bear.
The Nova Legion's temporary supreme commander was Mirage, a capable young man wearing glasses, exuding an air of elegance.
Claude stated plainly, "The conflict between the two Legions is uncontrollable. We can only let them fight to let off some steam, otherwise, this powder keg will inevitably explode."
"Then let them fight."
Mirage readily agreed. In a few short sentences, they decided the course of the war. A fight was inevitable, but it mustn't escalate.
Furthermore,
They absolutely had to avoid casualties among both Legions' Void Wanderers. As for the native Legion members, aside from a few key combatants, their lives were inconsequential.
Of course,
They would try their best to minimize casualties.
They, the Legion leaders and core Void Wanderers, would participate in the battle, but with restraint. At the opportune moment, Claude and Mirage would end the war.
After saying his final words, Claude sighed.
"Sigh, this is just…randomly combining unrelated powers. Ultimately, it's a matter of insufficient experience. But absolutely no malicious intent, mind you."
"Haha."
Mirage chuckled. "It's a necessary process of accumulating experience. Identifying the problem early allows for quick resolution. If this situation arose in a higher-level world, it would be life-threatening."
"That's true."
The two Legion Commanders' private conversation was overheard; as a result, the entire world was worried about this war, causing Tulip Agency a lot of trouble.
Located on the border of the Euc Kingdom, Lieutenant General Marianna was waiting for orders. She asked her female deputy, "Still nothing?"
Her deputy shook her head. "There's really nothing we can do. The two Legion Commanders refuse to accept mediation. Their stance is extremely firm; this war is inevitable."
Hearing this,
Marianna frowned.
"Once the conflict escalates, the consequences are unimaginable."
"Indeed."
Whoosh—
At that moment,
A figure unexpectedly appeared within Marianna's sight. She was initially stunned, then a look of relief spread across her face as she rushed towards the figure.
Her deputy was puzzled.
"What is it?"
Mei, dressed as a traveler, stood on a hill overlooking the Euc Kingdom border, nothing but mountains and wilderness as far as the eye could see.
"My lord, it has been a long time."
To the deputy's astonishment, Marianna gave Mei a formal military salute. "My lord, have you come because of this war?"
"I'm afraid I'll disappoint you. I'm here to watch the fun. I've been a little bored lately."
Mei was indifferent to the war's impact. She was a Grand Marshal, but she wasn't bound by Tulip Agency's orders.
Rarely witnessing a battle between Void Wanderer Legions, Mei was genuinely intrigued and had come to join the excitement. Her intervention was highly unlikely.
A fierce wind howled across the wilderness as Mei walked away into the wind, leaving Marianna to sigh in disappointment. She could only watch as the figure disappeared.
Her deputy was curious. "Lieutenant General, who was that?"
She'd been at headquarters for a while, and had met most people from the commander-in-chief to the lowest ranking officers, yet she'd never seen this person before.
Marianna countered,
"Of the three Grand Marshals, who haven't you met yet?"
"That one?!!"
Her deputy gasped.
Everyone at headquarters knew there was a very special Grand Marshal among the three—one who had never appeared in public and was never required to follow headquarters' orders.
She had interacted with the other two Grand Marshals many times, and they'd both expressed their curiosity about this unseen Grand Marshal, who was enigmatic to the extreme.
She never expected to see this person's true face here.
