That same day,
The final seed Mei planted sprouted and thrived. The causal force in the subconscious, spanning over a century, finally orchestrated the conditions Mei had set.
Over the years, Locken hadn't been idle. He had fulfilled Mei's instructions, teaching the Analytical Art to many people.
The number of Analytical Art practitioners skyrocketed, spreading rapidly. After all, the Analytical Art's fighting power was astonishing.
Analyzing all things.
Deconstructing all things.
Finally,
The final condition was met. Years later, this world would be destroyed by the culmination of the Analytical Art, becoming the key element driving this cycle of rebirth.
The interface flashed.

The old tavern was gone. The gathering place of nearly two hundred years, long gone. Those who had gambled there had vanished without a trace.
Under the silent passage of time, everything was silent, as if it had never happened.
That day,
Mei didn't stay in Platinum City but immediately set off, disappearing alone into the wilderness, as the mission prompt indicated.
She returned to Hyperdimensional Space.
This mission's harvest was immense. Mei not only fused two lifeforms and void energy, evolving into a higher-level Primordial Daemon,
but also obtained a vast quantity of equipment and items—approximately 1.2 million items, including numerous Tier 3 and Tier 4 pieces.
Most importantly, the Door of Truth rewarded Mei with the True Source Annihilation and True Death Substitute—two powerful items surpassing Tier 7.
Having used a True Source Annihilation on the Supreme Master, Mei now possessed two of these potent items.
Mei's evolution into a Primordial Daemon had pushed her to the Tier 7 limit; further advancement to Tier 8 seemed unlikely without a breakthrough.
The Primordial Daemon was the Tier 7 limit, but her power could still grow, as this didn't hinder upgrades in other ability lines.
Another achievement was that Shiro had reached Tier 6.
The first thing upon returning was to have her equipment assessed in the enhancement chamber.
All 1.2 million items in her Personal Spatial Storage underwent assessment. Unsurprisingly, the highest grade was Tier 4.
Mei was primarily concerned with the Source Annihilation and Death Substitute.
——

【Grade: Tier 8】
【Description: When the wielder faces true death, this item automatically activates, providing specialized countermeasures against source annihilation. It cannot be suppressed by anything below Tier 8.】
【Cannot be enhanced.】
——
The Tier 8 items being un-enhancable was expected; besides, Mei didn't have enough points to enhance them anyway.
Her power and item quality far exceeded the current mission difficulty. Obtaining enough points to enhance high-grade equipment would be unusual, unless a Transcendent Space entity appeared.
And then Mei annihilated them.
That might create a significant influx of points.
Better to just think positively.
Mei checked her stats, noticing significant changes from before.

The upgrade cost alone indicated a proper Tier 8 ability; a single upgrade would require hundreds of billions of points—frightening.
Mei was willing but unable.
Then,
She took her assessed equipment and items to the Little Star Treasures shop. Lina immediately greeted Mei with a sweet smile.
"Welcome."
Mei was concise.
"Sell everything."
"Alright, please wait a moment."
Lina initially maintained her composure, but upon seeing the 1.2 million pieces of equipment and items, nearly popped her eyes out.
Her jaw dropped.
"How… how many items are there?!"
Mei gave the precise number.
"1,202,783 items."
The vast majority were high-quality items salvaged from Liberty City; Tier 1 items were fewer than Tier 2.
Over 100,000 were Tier 1 items, while the number of Tier 2 items was a staggering 1.1 million. There were 623 Tier 3 items and 40 Tier 4 items.
"This…"
Lina looked at the mountain of equipment and broke into a cold sweat. The sheer volume was overwhelming for a single person to handle.
This was far more extravagant than the last time.
Even the merchants in the Legions weren't as terrifying as this young woman.
Along with the surprise came immense joy; this deal would yield far more profit than the last. If she couldn't handle it alone, she'd simply share the spoils.
No problem.
Lina roughly calculated the equipment's value, her excitement growing with each calculation. Her breathing became rapid, her voice trembling.
"The total value of this equipment is 3 trillion!"
3 trillion!
This astronomical sum was incredibly exciting. Lina frantically rushed out to find buyers for the equipment.
"Miss, please wait! I'll be right back!!"
Finally,
Lina and other shop owners jointly purchased Mei's equipment. A net profit of 3 trillion was instantly transferred to Mei's account. The account showed a massive amount.
1 trillion could buy top-tier Tier 7 equipment. Theoretically, 3 trillion could buy Tier 8 equipment, but those were unavailable at any price.
Previously, even high-end battle pets were unavailable to Mei, and the number of Tier 8 items on the market was even smaller; they were mostly consumed internally by large organizations.
"Looks like I need to contact the larger Legions."
Mei understood.
She'd planned to use 1 trillion to buy a Primordial Core to use as Tier 7 advancement materials, but before she could spend it, she'd already reached Tier 7.
Originally, Mei had two plans for advancing to Tier 7: breaking through the bottleneck using the Star Spirit lifeform's unified force form, and the Void Demon God Primordial Core advancement path.
Now, neither plan was necessary; she had a lead on reaching Tier 8: manipulating the probability through causal laws.
By manipulating the probability of her Willpower Vessel Ideal exceeding its level limit to 100%, she could smoothly advance to Tier 8.
The current problem was that after two hundred years in the mission world, Mei's Willpower Vessel hadn't fully manifested. The required time was unknown.
The manifestation of a Tier 7 entity's Willpower Vessel would likely be an extremely long process, especially since it had been enhanced by the Book of Truth.
How long would complete manifestation take? Mei was unsure. For Tier 7 cosmic-level beings, their concept of time was exceptionally vast.
Hundreds of millions of years were commonplace.
Even if the manifestation process took billions of years, Mei wouldn't be surprised. This was the only known path to Tier 8.
She had no other choice.
She could only wait.
Other methods undoubtedly existed, but such high-level advancement methods were absolutely crucial secrets within any Legion, never disseminated externally.
No amount of money could buy this information.
Therefore, Mei couldn't know them.
It could be said that her luck was excellent; she happened to encounter the Ideal power system within the Willpower world, finding an opportunity to break through to Tier 8.
This was the allure of multiple power systems coexisting; a bottleneck in one system might not even be a problem for another.
"Jackpot!"
"Haha, it's a win!"
Outside the Little Star Treasures shop, a group of men excitedly played the prize machine. The familiar old man was still there; Mei could always find him here.
The old man saw Mei and greeted her again.
"Kid, wanna play a round?"
Hearing this,
Mei paused.
Then walked past.
Right!
The prize machine was the most cost-effective option!
One bet of 10,000 points guaranteed a Tier 1 prize ticket. Ten Tier 1 tickets could be exchanged for one Tier 2 ticket, and so on up to Tier 6. Even with the worst luck, only 1 billion points would be needed to obtain enough Tier 1 tickets to exchange for a Tier 6 prize ticket.
Similar to the market prices of Tier 6 to Tier 7 equipment, a hundred-fold increase, exchanging for a Tier 7 prize ticket required 100 Tier 6 tickets.
Meaning,
In the worst-case scenario, it would take approximately 100 billion points.
Similarly, the price difference between Tier 7 and Tier 8 was also a hundredfold, and the Tier 8 threshold was in the trillions. For the market, high-grade equipment was priceless.
But the prize machine was different; if you gave it enough money, it would provide any number of tickets; there was no shortage.
Unlike buying discarded equipment from Legions, exchanging everything for prize tickets was more profitable and served as strategic reserves.
Mei's advancement speed was simply rocket-like, faster than light—almost a level per mission.
Buying equipment quickly led to obsolescence, and each equipment change meant being gouged by Legions. Exchanging for tickets was far more cost-effective. Prize tickets were valuable and could be used to upgrade equipment and items at any time.
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
If not needed immediately, they could be used as materials for lower-tier exchanges, or even on-the-spot equipment upgrades within mission worlds.
At least, it was incredibly profitable for Mei.
"Little girl, come on, come on!"
Seeing Mei's intention to play, the old man immediately gave up his spot. He thought Mei would only play a few rounds, given his previous restrained behavior.
However, Mei pulled out his funds and swiped a series of numbers across the prize ticket machine, almost blinding the old man.
"How… how much?!"
The old man rubbed his eyes, stunned.
"What?! How much money?!"
"Tens of thousands… millions… hundreds of millions…"
"3 trillion!!!"
"Kid, you're incredibly rich!"
The onlookers were astounded; they'd never seen such an astronomical sum, let alone someone crazy enough to spend 3 trillion on a prize machine.
3 trillion!
Not 3,000 or 3 million.
"I'll be damned…"
The old man was speechless, having never seen such a long string of zeros in Hyperdimensional Space. This young man was truly deep.
Swiping 3 trillion on the prize machine—100 million draws—would take an incredibly long time if done individually. Therefore, the machine summarized the process.
It directly dispensed the prize tickets.
Even automatically completed the exchanges.
The others gasped, their eyes wide with excitement. They’d never seen such high-grade tickets before; they’d never even seen these colors.
Phwhoosh—
The prize machine emitted a puff of white vapor, and the tickets slowly emerged from the dispensing slot. Mei eagerly awaited the appearance of high-grade tickets. What color would they be?
First,
A deep, star-like black appeared—a Tier 8 ticket, incredibly mysterious and dark. Mei's luck had exploded!
"Tier 8, a black ticket!!!"
Immediately,
The old man excitedly shouted.
Mei had calculated that it would take 10 trillion to obtain a base Tier 8 ticket. She recalled that her Tier 2 win rate was 1/20.
Whether the win rate would continue to decrease for higher-grade tickets, she didn't know. But Mei knew she had hit the jackpot.
3 trillion input yielded 10 trillion worth of base tickets.
The onlookers were equally excited.
"Damn!"
"Incredible!"
"This is a gold mine!"
This was a significant surprise for Mei as well.
Next, a large number of red and gold tickets emerged—red for Tier 7, gold for Tier 6.
This proved that the Tier 8 ticket wasn't an exchange; it was pure luck, a single, incredible draw.
Adding to her existing inventory, Mei now possessed 1 Tier 8 ticket, 32 Tier 7 tickets, 21 Tier 6 tickets, 1 Tier 4 ticket, and 8 Tier 3 tickets.
This meant Mei could use the Tier 8 ticket at any time to upgrade any item to Tier 8, though there was no immediate need.
This was one of Mei's trump cards.
If the Tier 8 ticket remained unused, Mei would wait until she had 100 before exchanging them for a single Tier 9 ticket.
Returning to the Earth Universe,
Mei opened the faith marker marketplace.
【Remaining Tokens: 524.3 billion】
She'd originally planned to buy the four Chapters of the Star Spirit inheritance, but that was no longer necessary. There was no guarantee the Star Spirit inheritance would be useful to a Primordial Daemon.
No need to waste resources on a gamble.
These tokens could be used to purchase other items.
She was about to select items when,
Hum—
A tremendously powerful fluctuation suddenly swept through the void. The sheer force instantly heightened Mei's awareness; this power was above Tier 7!
"What's going on?"
Mei frowned, encountering an unexpected situation upon her return.
A thought.
Truth Manifestation, using illusory power, swept across all information in the Earth Universe, instantly locking onto the target and displaying the information before Mei.
Simultaneously,
Boom!
Within the gap between the universe and the void, a supremely magnificent power coalesced into a humanoid form. The usually unconcerned Gaia consciousness revealed an extremely grave expression.
"Star Spirit King—"
Suddenly,
Boom!!
A devastating force slammed into the Earth Universe, instantly tearing a rift in its boundary.
Instantly,
The Earth Universe's star energy surged.
A supreme and overwhelming power swept across the entire Earth Universe in an instant. The star energy, as if welcoming its Emperor, demonstrated subservient adoration.
The terrifying, overwhelmingly powerful force could obliterate and destroy everything; even spacetime trembled, on the verge of collapse.
In a moment,
The supreme power receded like a tide.
Just as everyone thought the disturbance had subsided, a message, transmitted instantly through the sea of star energy, reached every corner of the Earth Universe: a coordinate.
The location of a Tier 8 powerhouse's inheritance!
A relic drifting in the boundless void had collided with the Earth Universe, bringing a magnificent Tier 8 inheritance. This was the information Mei understood.
Due to the high-level power within the relic, Truth Manifestation couldn't gather more information. Mei made a decisive choice: she wouldn't compete for this Tier 8 inheritance.
Let someone else have it.
If it were a lost inheritance, Mei would gladly accept it. But this relic clearly possessed a conscious will, actively broadcasting the existence of the inheritance. Whether a puppeteer was involved remained unknown; the risk was too high.
Mei suspected it might be a trap. Tier 8 was nearly within her reach; there was no need to risk everything by getting involved.
A purple energy stream zipped across the cosmos—a Voidborn heading towards the coordinate. The entire Earth Universe was abuzz with this Tier 8 inheritance.
Countless powerhouses were racing towards the coordinate.
Undoubtedly,
It would become the epicenter of the Earth Universe.
Mei looked towards the coordinate, unmoved, instead heading in the opposite direction, putting as much distance as possible between herself and the commotion.
Time to harvest more faith markers.
Spacetime energy surged from the crystal, instantly engulfing a galaxy into accelerated spacetime. Mei began harvesting tokens.
With a thought,
All faith markers within a five-light-year radius vanished, transforming into countless tokens, continuously updating the prompt, and the Remaining Tokens count skyrocketing.
【Tokens Acquired: 3,000】
【Tokens Acquired: 20,000】
【Tokens Acquired: 35,000】
【Tokens Acquired: 100,000】
…
As for the Gaia consciousness, Mei had no intention of confronting it yet; the Gaia consciousness hadn't detected her presence.
That was ideal.
A little stability.
If it sought death, Mei would gladly oblige. With two Source Annihilation items remaining, she had nothing to fear from the Gaia consciousness.
She figured it might be more useful in future mission worlds; there was no need for unnecessary consumption now, especially since it was a Tier 8-annihilating item.
While harvesting faith markers in accelerated spacetime, Mei browsed the faith marker marketplace. Unsurprisingly, it contained Primordial Daemon-related inheritances.
Tier 7 inheritances.
Tier 8 inheritances.
Compared to similarly graded items in Hyperdimensional Space, Tier 7 items started at 10 billion and could reach 1 trillion, while Tier 8 items started in the trillions, with the highest prices reaching hundreds of trillions.
From Tier 7 onwards,
The price decreased by a hundredfold for each lower tier.
There were no valuable Tier 7 inheritances for Primordial Daemons. Now that she had reached Tier 7, Mei focused on Tier 8 inheritances.
——
【Item: Void Overlord】
【Type: Information Type】
【Description: As a creator of the void, only Primordial Daemons possess the innate ability to control the void, thereby gaining access to the locations of other worlds and universes, breaking free from the confines of a single universe.】
【Price: 10 trillion】
——
For a Tier 8 inheritance, a price of 10 trillion wasn't excessive. Accumulating 1 trillion was far easier than accumulating 10 trillion; Mei had the patience.
In the Willpower world, Mei had considered searching for other worlds in the void, but the void was too vast to search effectively.
Only by awakening the Primordial Daemon's innate abilities through inheritance could Mei break free from the confines of a single universe and become a higher-level being in the void. In the Willpower world, she could already command a limited area of the void, but she couldn't locate other universes, suggesting incomplete talent awakening.
"Huh?"
Mei's expression shifted as she looked beyond the accelerated spacetime.
At that moment,
A Tier 5 powerhouse, pursuing the relic's coordinates, passed through this galaxy. The peculiarity of the accelerated spacetime piqued his interest.
"What is this…"
This was a genetically modified individual from an advanced Tier 5 civilization. Seeing this, he immediately became intrigued and boldly plunged into the accelerated spacetime.
"The flow of time is drastically different inside and outside!"
"What's going on here?"
Quickly,
He deduced the cause: either a device capable of affecting spacetime was present, or a being capable of such interference existed.
Either way,
It would be an incredibly powerful artifact.
Controlling spacetime!
Who in the universe wouldn't desire such power?
"If I could find this device…"
The modified Tier 5 individual became increasingly excited, oblivious to the fact he'd entered someone else's territory—a Death Zone.
He was a faith marker holder.
Boom!
Suddenly,
The cosmos trembled, stars shifting. A violent force from the void, like a collapsing universe, bore down, instantly terrifying the modified Tier 5 individual.
"My lord, I mean no offense!!"
Boom!
The terrifying Primordial Daemon form flickered and vanished. Mei effortlessly grasped the cosmos in her hand, crushing the Tier 5 faith marker holder as easily as one would crush an ant.
【Tokens Acquired: 1.5 million】
【Remaining Tokens: 525.8 billion】
Hum—
Spacetime energy recoiled back into the crystal. Mei vanished without a trace; all causality returned to her, leaving no information or trace behind.
No matter how thoroughly the Gaia consciousness investigated, it couldn't detect her presence.
...
Tideborne Galaxy, Celestara.
This was a planet that had largely entered a globally interconnected information age. Rapid economic development fueled the rapid advancement of technology and information.
With global interconnectedness allowing free internet access and interaction with friends and cultures from distant lands.
Mei was familiar with the era's background and cultural context in Shirath, so in addition to gathering tokens, she chose to rest and relax here.
Shirath Nation, Lamhyrien.
Lamhyrien was located in the inland region of Shirath, far from the sea, surrounded by mountains, and relying on a reformed tide-based economy. While not as developed as major cities, it was relatively prosperous.
The city center had numerous high-rises, but beyond that, high-rise buildings were scarce; mostly older, dilapidated residential buildings.
In this era,
Televisions were common in almost every household. Economic reforms combined with cultural clashes sparked vibrant creativity.
Their faces radiated energetic optimism and a forward-looking spirit.
On a residential street in Lamhyrien was a dilapidated three-story abandoned building, left derelict for many years, recently broken into and unceremoniously claimed as a residence.
Several young people with a literary aura were comfortably lounging in the dilapidated building, sharing their perspectives and ideas, engaging in lively discussions.
A chubby young man with glasses spoke excitedly, brimming with conviction: "Do you know how vast the universe is? The Tideborne Galaxy contains hundreds of billions of stars, and Celestara is just a speck of dust within it. Countless galaxies like the Tideborne Galaxy exist throughout the universe; the number is astronomical, even just from telescope observations."
"Human civilization is insignificant in this vast cosmos. Do you think we're the only intelligent life in the universe? What are the odds of that?"
Another, a scholarly-looking young man with a thick scarf, pulled out a foreign magazine from an old pile, turning to a specific page.
"Look, this magazine from the Federation published an article like this. They say someone there saw a UFO and had close contact with extraterrestrials."
"I remember!"
A girl chimed in: "It even became a famous movie, called 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind'!"
"Right."
The chubby young man with glasses was Veyne, the scarf-wearing young man was Vairen, and the only girl was Songveil. The three were deeply engrossed in their discussion.
Their intense curiosity and fascination with extraterrestrials were evident. They were all students, and their passion was undeniable. From university onwards, they'd been obsessed with UFOs and extraterrestrials, their shared interest binding them together even after graduation.
However,
This small group wasn't limited to just three people.
After their discussion, Veyne turned to Mei, who was reading a magazine: "Aure, is the stuff here?"
"It's all inside."
With that,
Mei carried out an iron pot and an antenna from the inner room. Veyne, without a word, rolled up his sleeves and began working, attaching the antenna to the bottom of the pot.
These university students were impoverished, but Mei often helped them out, providing them with various items. To them, Mei was a magical treasure chest.
That was a fair description.
Usually, they only managed to get small items like antennas or crank handles from Mei, and she happily joined their mischief.
Of the three, Veyne was the most hands-on. Despite his size, he was a pragmatist; he acted immediately on his ideas.
He was the one who'd broken into this dilapidated building and claimed it as their own.
Songveil was curious.
"What are you doing?"
Vairen explained, "We're investigating. Two years ago, there were reports of a flying saucer in this vicinity. Locals frequently report strange dreams about humanoid creatures. We suspect this area might receive extraterrestrial signals or brainwaves."
"I see!"
Songveil's excitement grew. "That's why you needed Aure to bring the antenna! But are you sure this will work for receiving extraterrestrial signals and brainwaves?"
"You never know unless you try."
Veyne firmly connected the antenna to the bottom of the iron pot, then placed it on his head—a comical sight.
As a student, he found the act absurd, but extraterrestrials themselves were absurd; one couldn't judge the extraordinary by human limitations.
Practice yielded understanding.
Whether it worked or not, they'd soon find out.
Someone had previously contacted extraterrestrials using a similar iron pot setup, though the veracity of that claim was questionable. Veyne maintained a cautious attitude.
But they had to try.
Dusk settled.
Stars began to twinkle in the night sky. Mei and the others stood on the roof. Veyne sat cross-legged on the ground, focusing his mind, attempting to receive signals and brainwaves through his brain.
"It's so beautiful!"
Songveil sighed, clutching her slightly cold shirt. She asked Mei, "Aure, you haven't told us what you plan to do afterward."
"Afterward?"
Mei pondered. "Travel the world! The world is so vast; it would be a shame not to expand my knowledge."
"Traveling the world… that sounds far-fetched."
Whoosh—
A mysterious, cold night wind blew past.
"Achoo!"
Veyne sneezed again, shivering slightly. He'd been sitting on the roof for over an hour, but received no signals or brainwaves.
He numbly stood up.
"Retreat, retreat, retreat. Experiment failed."
Vairen pulled out a small notebook and pen from his pocket and wrote down another failed attempt.
【October 15th, 1997, Lamhyrien Residential Street, No. 23. Attempt to receive extraterrestrial signals and brainwaves using an iron pot and antenna – failed.】
"It's okay."
The group wasn't discouraged.
Veyne, however, offered encouragement. "The path to truth is always winding. Each failed attempt eliminates incorrect possibilities, guiding us toward the truth!"
His words carried the distinct flavor of the times.
They truly believed this was a lifelong pursuit worth dedicating themselves to. If they could find irrefutable proof of extraterrestrial existence…
They would become legendary figures in human history.
Humanity could survive by looking down at the ground. But looking to the sky was far from worthless; it was their belief, a naive and almost foolish persistence.
To many, these students were merely wasting time on frivolous pursuits. But they didn't think so.
The search for truth had yielded continuous setbacks, leaving Veyne and the others disoriented and lost.
They were like wilted vegetables.
Veyne sighed. "Are there any other clues? Aure, you're our last resort. Do you have any better ideas or information?"
Mei flipped through the magazine in her hand and nodded.
"Yes."
At that,
The group's spirits lifted.
Veyne literally jumped up, grabbing Mei's shoulders and shaking her excitedly. "You really do?!"
"I just remembered."
Vairen impatiently urged, "Tell us!"
"Okay!"
Songveil's eyes shone brightly.
A moment later,
Mei brought them to an internet cafe in the city center. As far as the eye could see, everyone in the cafe was playing the same strategy game, some on individual machines, others in multiplayer mode via local network.
"Guys, fall back, fall back! Our base is under attack!!"
"Damn it, our base is gone!"
"Commander, the troops are at your command!"
"Network admin, another two hours!"
Internet cafes had become increasingly popular nationwide in the past two years, their business booming. Many young people loved to hang out there.
"Network admin, one more machine, please."
Mei expertly navigated to a computer, and the group huddled around, watching her deftly type and open a specific online forum.
Vairen saw a newly created thread and was surprised. "A new thread? When was this made? I didn't notice."
His family was relatively well-off; he had a computer.
"Just now."
With that,
Mei entered a thread titled "Lamhyrien Mysteries," a sub-thread under their Lin'an forum. Despite being newly created, it was already quite popular.
【Mysterious Creature Sightings in East Three Mountains】
【A Mysterious Curse Plaguing a Family for Three Generations】
【Terrifying Sounds Appear in My House Every Night. Everyone Else Has Left, But I Stay.】
The posts grabbed their attention immediately.
Mei scrolled through the posts, finding one she'd seen before; the title caught their eye.
【I Can Sense Extraterrestrials】
"This is it."
Mei opened the post, urging them to read it carefully. Songveil was slightly surprised. "This person lives just two streets from my house! It's very close!"
The poster, who identified himself as Alenbright, claimed to possess an innate ability to sense extraterrestrial brainwaves. He believed extraterrestrials had already integrated into human society, living normal lives.
Perhaps it was surveillance.
Perhaps an ambush.
Anything was possible.
And he claimed to be able to locate extraterrestrials hidden among humans through brainwaves.
Songveil was fascinated.
"That's a fascinating perspective!"
"Let's find him!"
Veyne, ever the pragmatist, immediately pulled the others towards Alenbright's location. No one objected; regardless of truth or falsehood, they had to verify it.
Along the way,
Vairen said, "He may not want to talk to us, but he posted his information online; he clearly wants attention."
Veyne nodded.
"What do you mean?"
Songveil immediately understood Vairen's idea, responding before he could: "Let's pretend to be journalists or magazine reporters and interview him!"
"Great idea."
Veyne gave a thumbs-up, clapping Vairen on the shoulder. "This task is yours. Of us, you look the most like a reporter."
"No problem."
Vairen nodded, pulling out his notebook and pen. His demeanor and mannerisms were perfectly suited to the role of a reporter; no one would suspect otherwise.
Soon,
A whirlwind of activity led them to Alenbright's door. A somewhat gaunt middle-aged man opened the security door, looking cautiously at them.
"Who are you looking for?"
Vairen offered a warm, professional smile.
"Hello, my name is Vairen. We're from a magazine. We saw Mr. Alenbright's post online and would like to interview him."
"A magazine?"
Without hesitation,
Alenbright invited them inside. His excitement was palpable as he explained his abilities; he didn't even ask Vairen which magazine he worked for.
Mei curiously asked him,
"Do you believe extraterrestrials truly exist?"
"Of course!"
Alenbright's tone was firm. "Otherwise, how could I sense their brainwaves? Don't think extraterrestrials are all bizarre-looking; they look just like us; ordinary people can't tell the difference."
Vairen meticulously recorded Alenbright's words, simultaneously questioning him in a professional manner, observing Alenbright's performance.
Mei whispered to Veyne,
"Do you think he's telling the truth?"
Veyne shook his head.
"Uncertain."
To further verify, Veyne interrupted Vairen's interview, stating bluntly, "Mr. Alenbright, can you take us to an extraterrestrial?"
They expected Alenbright to find an excuse to refuse; they'd encountered many attention-seeking braggarts. Unexpectedly, Alenbright agreed without hesitation.
Veyne was taken aback.
His expression was stunned.
"Uh… do we need to prepare anything?"
"No need for such trouble. I can directly sense their brainwaves; it's easy to locate those extraterrestrials."
The group exchanged glances.
Alenbright didn't seem to be lying.
Let's see.
No hasty judgments.
At that moment,
Alenbright placed his hands on his temples, closed his eyes, and slowly rotated in place, like a satellite dish adjusting its signal reception.
Then,
He stopped.
His eyes fixed on Mei, narrowed as if sensing something. He pointed towards Mei, then shifted, pointing towards the door.
"I've sensed a brainwave, very close, within a hundred meters! I've never sensed a brainwave this close before. This way, follow me!"
Alenbright, more excited than Veyne and the others, rushed out, leaving the guests to hastily close the door behind them.
Songveil was amazed.
"It seems real!"
"Let's see."
Veyne's excitement grew. He hoped more than anyone that Alenbright wasn't bluffing. They might have actually found someone.
Vairen glanced at Mei. He'd initially thought Alenbright was pointing at Mei; if so, it would be incredibly bizarre.
They had always searched for proof of extraterrestrial existence, but before finding such proof, it felt like a dream, unreal.
