Chapter 161: Xanthia’s Career Path

As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end; beautiful, joyous moments are always fleeting.

After the friends had dispersed, Dionysius stayed behind to watch the video of his sister pying the piano several more times, a satisfied smile on his face.

He knew that he wasn’t the only one who had recorded this scene on his phone, so he requested videos from other friends shot from different angles, including one where only her hands were in focus—what could be called a "hand-control" enthusiast's shot.

It must be admitted, the shots taken by the crowd of Xanthia’s hands flying across the piano keys were truly stunning!

As Dionysius continued watching, a thought crossed his mind. He opened his computer, imported all the videos, and then, with practiced skill, used editing software to create a version of the video where his sister’s face was not shown.

Although her face was absent, the other angles, including long shots, shots from behind, side views of her neck and shoulders, and the close-ups of her hands, all beautifully highlighted the graceful posture of Xanthia in her splendid gown. The imagery was enough to stir the imagination.

Had the gown been a short one rather than a long one, revealing those fwless, jade-like, and perfectly sculpted legs, it would have been something quite extraordinary. After all, isn’t that what viewers flock to see in the over-competitive piano community on video ptforms?

Dionysius’s editing skills were commendable. With his smooth editing and camera movements, the video, enhanced with filters in post-production, presented Xanthia as nothing short of enchanting—captivating, radiant, and full of alluring mystery.

At this point, her piano skills no longer mattered. What truly stood out was her figure and the captivating charm of her presence. The atmosphere of the entire video was mesmerizing.

Not showing her face added an extra yer of intrigue—a deliberate decision by Dionysius in his editing process.

Though he had a strong urge to show off his sister, he enjoyed pying this game of "half-hidden beauty," where he could almost reveal everything without truly doing so... revealing just enough but never entirely. It was as if to say, “Here it is—almost, but not quite.”

On the other hand, if her face had been shown, it would have removed all mystery and taken away the curiosity it sparked in others.

As mentioned earlier, Dionysius had a pyful account on the superapp Synomilia, where he uploaded piano content under the bundle "Serious Moments." Though his piano skills were actually quite good, his fanbase was small because he didn't engage in the typical antics that made other creators go viral—he didn’t do crazy stunts, cross-dress, or participate in cospy.

He had a id-back attitude, never seeking fame, simply using his account to record and share his own piano-pying experiences for personal enjoyment.

Even so, by consistently posting piano videos, his content had accumuted enough to attract a small, loyal group of followers.

Some of these followers might have been drawn to his posts after seeing expnations of how his Steinway grand piano was an incredibly expensive piece of equipment. They might have also noticed the high-end design of the music room where the videos were filmed. From these observations, they might have concluded that this pianist must be a wealthy, capable individual.

The attraction that the famed contemporary pianist, Regado, has towards his female fans is well understood. In this day and age, many men wish to leverage retionships with wealthy women to climb the social dder, while women don’t necessarily need to be so btant about it. They simply want to experience a sweet romance with a successful man. Is that really so wrong?

Unfortunately, although Dionysius created a fan group, he, as the group admin, hardly ever speaks. He’s merely a machine for sharing his test videos—posting one, tagging all members, and then logging off immediately.

When fans joined the group and attempted to add him on ptform for private chats, none were successful.

The truth is, Dionysius treats this as a casual hobby. With a id-back, “sharing-my-passion” attitude, he isn’t interested in becoming a full-time content creator. He’s not about to maintain his fanbase or actively cultivate a following.

This time, he decided to upload a non-facial video of his sister pying the piano to his account. It was another way of documenting his life, with a hint of showing off: “I had such a sweet and adorable sister pying for me on my birthday—how many of you can say that?”

Of course, before editing and uploading the video, Dionysius still made sure to ask for Xanthia’s opinion.

He deeply respects his sister, and if she were uncomfortable with him “showcasing” her, he would hold back even if he wanted to funt. He would never go against her wishes.

At the time of sending the message, Xanthia and her friends had already left the vil and returned to school.

Before leaving, Aunt Issa Gozen was reluctant to part with Xanthia. But Xanthia comforted her, promising to visit regurly, which immediately reassured Aunt Issa.

Xanthia’s positive mental attitude left Aunt Issa feeling uplifted. If the young dy could maintain such an optimistic and healthy outlook as she grew, Aunt Issa would be completely at ease.

After attending the private birthday party, Xanthia and her companions left with plenty in hand. In addition to receiving electronic gifts from Dionysius, they also packed some snacks and fruit to take along.

The most amusing part was that even the self-procimed “Queen of Freebies,” Chica—who never hesitated to take advantage—was somewhat embarrassed. What was supposed to be a birthday party felt more like a raid on a rich person’s home!

  “No wonder it's Xanthia!”

Chica would now cim that Xanthia was the true overlord of freebie-hunting, someone far more adept than herself.

She made a vow: from now on, no matter what happened with Xanthia at school, she would always support her, never sitting on the fence.

Elena also couldn’t help but marvel. No wonder Xanthia was so into comics about ordinary people dramatically rising to challenge the elite—it seemed that in real life, she was doing the same. Elena couldn’t help but admire Xanthia’s extraordinary courage!

Lhoraine, ever keen to take credit, kept ciming that if Xanthia ever became “Dionysius’s god-sister,” she would have a third of the credit...

Sadly, Xanthia directly denied such a retionship, though she didn’t crify what the true nature of their bond was. This left Lhoraine utterly frustrated.

Meanwhile, Luciel, who had been silent all this time, was enjoying herself immensely. After all, she was the only one who knew the truth. That sense of unique superiority was pure joy for her, proving that she was Xanthia’s closest and best friend!

Noemi, a robinhood thief, also grew to greatly admire Xanthia. While she relied on her own methods to acquire things from others, Xanthia seemed to earn gifts simply by showcasing her talents, making everyone more than happy to give. It was a win-win situation!

Noemi had a sharp eye. She noticed that after Xanthia’s piano performance, everyone’s opinion of her shifted dramatically. The change in perception was so satisfying that it brightened her mood. Even Dionysius, the birthday party host, was beaming with joy. When the girls left, taking home extra snacks and goodies—what of it?

With such a small material exchange, the immense joy it brought was well worth it. Who wouldn’t want that?

It was easy to predict that the girls who were fortunate enough to be associated with Xanthia would soon become the envy of all the others at school!

To be close to “Xanthia’s” inner circle was definitely a desirable position...

After receiving a message from Dionysius, Xanthia clicked on the video he had edited and was taken aback. She hadn’t realised her piano-pying posture was so stunning—it really was beautiful!

It was clear that Dionysius’s constant posting of videos wasn’t for nothing. Although none of his videos had gone viral—his highest views were only 30,000—he had certainly gained substantial editing and production experience over time.

Xanthia’s mood had been quite good today. Though there had been a minor incident at the birthday party, overall, she felt rexed, happy, and content. She’d eaten well, drunk well, and had fun with her friends. She had even made a new and interesting acquaintance, Seranthalia La Magenta.

The girl truly lived up to her reputation as a model young dy who thrived in the prestigious foreign nguage high school. She was even more adept at interacting with Xanthia than Dionysius himself. Seranthalia La Magenta had a meticulous mind and smooth social skills—being around such a person felt incredibly pleasant.

Feeling so joyful, Xanthia responded to Dionysius without hesitation, praising the video editing and saying that if he wanted to share it, he could go ahead—she didn’t mind at all.

In truth, Xanthia loved the attention and the feeling of being in the spotlight. It was a real boost to her happiness, and whenever there was an opportunity to show off, she’d seize it as long as she was confident it wouldn’t backfire.

Seeing his sister’s swift response, Dionysius couldn’t help but feel impressed by how understanding she was. She agreed so quickly to satisfy his need to show off.

He replied: “Once this video is uploaded, it might go viral. If it does, I’ll take a screenshot of the earnings and send them to you. Make sure you accept it—this is your due reward!”

Xanthia replied: “Fine, but don’t expect the video to go viral so easily. And don’t try to Photoshop some earnings screenshot to fool me—I have my own account, you know.”

Having previously uploaded a cospy video that failed to go viral, Xanthia was realistic. With her current looks, she doubted she would suddenly become an online sensation.

However, her account where she posted covers in a beautifully designed anime costume, had started to show some promise. Although the account was still in the growth phase, Xanthia was patient. After her evening self-study sessions, she often found some time to practice her singing and record covers, not finding it too time-consuming.

After all, every endeavour starts small. While accumuting her happiness points was her main focus, she didn’t mind dabbling in a singing career. The prospect of earning the “Heavenly Voice” attribute was still appealing to her.

After all, one of the original goal’s desires was to sever ties with her father, fulfil her mother’s wishes, leave the Papadopoulos familia, become independent, and achieve success. (If she pursued a career in singing, she would unlock the “Heavenly Voice” attribute.)

Xanthia didn’t intend to limit her future career to singing, but she could definitely include it as one of her pursuits. This way, she could earn the said attribute and even make money from singing, which would also help her achieve financial independence and give her more confidence.

So, she had been steadily improving her singing skills, and the positive growth in her cover videos gave her added motivation.

Upon reading her reply, Dionysius quickly responded: “How could I possibly Photoshop anything to deceive you? I never engage in such deceptive practices!”

In truth, although he projected an image of integrity and transparency, Dionysius had already decided that, even if this video didn’t go viral, he would buy data for it. After all, he couldn’t let his sister appear to have no “clout” or charm.

It was simir to how rich authors on ptforms would recruit their inner circle to support their books—no matter the quality, they’d gather a few friends to boost the numbers and make the book look successful, knowing that outsiders wouldn’t realise that real data was based on subscriptions…

Xanthia, the “pseudo-elite,” had underestimated her real-rich brother’s ability to spend money. She never imagined that Dionysius would go to such lengths to support her.

After reading the rest of the message, Dionysius eagerly inquired: “You have an account too? What’s your username? Synomilia has broken in two companies st year so I don't know your other account. I’ll follow you and help boost your views!”

Xanthia quipped: “What kind of traffic are you going to bring? Doesn’t your piano account barely have a few thousand followers?”

“Even though it’s less than 10,000 followers, they’re all real fans—every little bit counts! Just tell me your username, and I can even recommend you in my fan group!” he replied excitedly.

“You have a fan group? Not bad. Maybe I’ll create a small account and lurk in it!” she teased.

“Feel free to lurk, but just so you know, it’s mostly girls in there. I don’t mind. Wait, don’t change the subject!” he responded, ughing.

“Ah, I see! It’s all girls, huh?” Xanthia mocked.

  …

In the end, Dionysius didn’t manage to uncover Xanthia’s Synomilia Video username, primarily because she didn’t want her small following to appear less impressive than her younger brother’s. She was determined that once she became famous, she would funt her success.

Dionysius, though curious about the direction she was taking, wasn’t worried. He trusted that she would succeed eventually. For now, he was happily uploading the well-edited video of her piano performance to his account.

As the evening drew to a close, he left the vil and returned to school, for he was a boarder.

Once the video passed the review, he immediately switched to his ptform alt account and notified all his fan group members, announcing the new video release.

This time, he went a little further than before, praising the new video. It could be summed up in two words: “Sister Showcase!”

However, the response in the fan group was rather cklustre. After all, he was just an unknown piano-themed content creator.

Dionysius didn’t mind, though. He had already decided—if the video didn’t go viral, he’d use his wealth to make it happen!
