Roar of Spring
The air in the core chamber was putrid and rotten, filled with spores that stabs and consumes all life that comes into contact with it like a stomach. It was almost like a miasma that barred all Fauna from existing, The Core had pulled Winnipeg into itself to break her down like all others that challenged it. The only defense Winnipeg has was the aura she had developed around herself. If that broke Well.
“Oh bother, this might be harder that I thought. The miasma is making me feel heavier than when I had that shield. But even with this aura-shield I feel disgusted. I feel like I'm in the stomach of a leviathan.” As Winnipeg started at the Core searching for her next opening, hear a noise coming from above her. As she looked above saw the tunnels that were opening up, with a horrible insect-like buzzing coming out of them. Suddenly a torrent of insect-like creatures were pouring out of the tunnels. They were pale and tiny, no bigger than a piglet with wings. Their malformed and malnourished forms homing in on the one source of life that could sustain them.
“Oh dear.”
As the Torent approached her, Winnipeg quickly let her aura flare and shot multiple flares at the torrent, decimating forcing them to scatter across the chamber as her aura stained the air. The creatures redirected themselves, their wings began shooting out scales to outpace the spheres.
‘Waaagh!” The onslaught of scales were scraping against her; the feeling of filth was growing with every scale that struck her Aura. Gathering her Aura in her fist she slammed it to the ground creating a shockwave annihilating the remaining creatures.
Not wanting to lose momentum Winnipeg surrounded fists in golden orbs and began to rush towards the Core. The Core in response dissolved the torrent and used mold to create a gigantic wave of decay to capture and devour the Bruin. As the wave reached its zenith Winnipeg reached for the Aether in air to create a well of energy below her feet to leap above the decay and strike the core only to be blocked by a shield of mold and spores. Unyielding, Winnipeg struck the shield rapidly, each strike of the orb fulling the shield with power of spring, slowly breaking and bypassing its regeneration.
“Break! Break!! Break!!!!!” With a final cry the shield and the orbs broke creating a massive shockwave that sent Winnipeg flying forcing her aura to tether herself to crash on the floor. As she lowered herself saw that the core was leaking mold and spring infused spores from the crack of the shockwave.
Even if it didn’t have a face the surface of it was shifting and writhing as if it had one. It looked as if it was always hurting.
“Oh poor dear.” At that sign of pity the Core enraged, sending out a screech that pierced the chamber and could be heard in the woods itself. It used the remaining mold, spores and fungi to create a super being. It had antennae for eyes, pale flesh bulging uncontrollably and talons on its hands and feet. It was crackling with spring energy creating a visible distortion around the chamber.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Sensing its quarry it slashed tether to the ceiling. As Winnipeg landed on her feet the Being advanced to her position and slashed her, with the aura taking most of the damage she was sent flying to the wall, the impact embedding her in the interwalls. As she regained her focus the Being launched itself with a kick and tried to strike her down with its talons. Winnipeg in a split moment created another well of spring to shield himself from the attack.
As the well and the Being came into contact the distortion in the chamber magnified. Forcing true life to grow inside the core room. The distortion exploded destroying the arm of the Being and sending it into the core making a roar in agony.
As she broke out of the interwalls the core chamber was changing. Flowers and fruits were growing from the many stains of spring created from the battle.Taking a look at the bush of berries close by Sight of this made her realize she hasn’t eaten in a while. “I hope those fruits are good.” The berry she plucked was golden with a soft texture on it and It smelled like fresh honey. Upon taking a first bite out of it she became ravenous, eating fruit without care becoming trapped in her own world, almost forgetting about the disgusting abomination trying to kill her.
The Core at its wits end used its very sap to flood the chamber to rid itself of its intruder. With the bark breaking and erupting with sap, the tremors cause Winnipeg to accidentally crush the fruit in her hands. Seeing the flood she tried to move body to escape but the sap was limiting her movement. Soon she could not move at all. Seeing no other choice she pulled all her Aether could in her Aura and let the Sap take her.
The chain reaction was imminent. The Aether was becoming chaotic. The core could no longer control the Aether causing it to lose control of not only its creature but over the Deathwoods itself.
The Being now truly awake saw the hole Winnipeg was in and kicked it, the force of it creating a hole for it to escape through. As it escaped the contaminated Aether into the Deadwoods. Creating a chain reaction that spread throughout the Woods scarling it with blistering wounds.
The Aether within the Chamber was erratic, fluctuating between stagnation and rejuvenation. The gold and mold surrounding the area creating strange new life. The colliding forces wishing to overwhelm each other to prove each other's existence. Forcing each other to crystalize each other in the near perfect chaos.
And all this was Witnessed by the Lone Guardian.
In the year 1492 the destruction of the old world caused by The Approach of the Genius Loci known as The Deadwoods was halted. The forest that devoured the great civilization had eaten itself. It's abominations turning on each other in a frenzy of gluttonous depravity. The miracle gave the coalition of surviving kingdoms time to arm themselves and dive into the deepest marsh of the forest and discover something that would change the course of history. The Corrosive marsh of The Deadwoods had given way to what the Magi call Wellspring; A new source of conductive energy that can be molded to the welders' liking. Creating a priceless versatile material and jump starting the path to the reclamation. As The surviving Kingdoms raced to claim land new and old a growing threat was approaching.
The surviving Abominations of the mold had changed. Having taken on a new more dangerous form; that of a civilization. The Abominations learned how to mimic ways of fauna. Creating another crisis on our steps.

Author's note:
I suck at creating fight scenes. I really started improving at that. So
Anyways the prologue is over so the real meat and potatoes can start.
