Chapter 3: Last minute explanations

After receiving his new name, Thita couldn't do anything but pay attention to the so-called Zero.

If he was telling the truth, he was about to reincarnate or something similar to a new word.

As crazy as it sounded to him, he had to accept it. Life was strange after all, he knew that better than most.

Seeing his concentration, Zero smiled once again and began speaking.

"So, let's get started. First of all, you will be taken to the new world as you are right now. Think of it as teleporting somewhere else."

  Thita nodded.

"Secondly, the new world which you will be sent to isn't the same as the one you lived in. There are humans, but there are also other intelligent and non-intelligent creatures. Just go with the flow, and you should be fine.

Furthermore, even if they speak different languages, you will understand them. In other words, to make it easier for you to understand, think of it as a blessing you will have thanks to me. Got it?"

Thita nodded after receiving that informations.

"Good. Another important information is that in your new world, there will be a thing called magic. Think of it as the reason I can inflict my will on the world. Don't worry, though; you will probably never meet someone with as much power as me, so you will be safe as long as you don't do anything stupid. Also, you will be able to use magic, too."

Thita looked at him, confused, and spoke.

"That's kinda confusing. Will I be able to understand that just like the languages?"

  Zero laughed.

"No, of course! Your brain would explode if I gave you such a blessing. Unfortunately, you can't learn it like that. Don't worry, though, since you will be able to learn more about it in the world in which I will send you to."

Thita nodded. Not like he could do anything else.

"So, what else is there to say... Oh right! Since there is a chance you might not be able to use magic, I will give you a little gift to give you at least an affinity to magic."

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

  "Gift?"

  Zero nodded.

"That's right! I thought about it beforehand, so I will give you an ability with which, you can have a bit more flexibility in escaping any unexpected situation. Think of it as a 'don't die' gift."

  "...Ok..."

"Since I received such an amazing response, here is what your blessing will be. You will be able to teleport around!"

  Thita looked at him, confused.

"Oh yeah, by that I mean that you will be able to teleport to places that you have been before. Of course, teleporting to a place will require magical energy or, in short, 'mana' depending on distance and time. I will let you figure it out yourself since I am not here to teach you but to give some important information."

"I figured out that much." Thita said.

"Good. So I don't think there is anything else important to say. Just to let you know, you will be transported by me next to a town where humans live.

I would advise you to find a way to make money or something similar to survive and live comfortably, or you can just wander around aimlessly. It's up to you really.

Also, you will receive your blessings when you get teleported there. With them, you will surely receive an affinity to magic, too. I don't know what you will be able to do or which affinity you will have, but I am sure it will be something useful for you."

"That's quite a lot of information to process." Thita said while having his hand on his forehead.

"You may be right, but it's not like I can download them to your brain! Or maybe I can, who knows? For now, just try to figure out as much as you can when you get transported. After all, we will be parting ways any time soon."

Thita looked at Zero with surprise.

  "Wait! Just like that?"

Zero looked at him and grinned.

"I am sorry that you won't be able to look at someone as beautiful as me, but yeah. Just like that. I don't really want to intervene much more with mortal affairs. After all, I have made quite the intervention by saying all that stuff and rescuing you. Well, it's not like someone will have a complaint, but I like keeping my involvements to a minimum."

After hearing all that Zero said, Thita stared at him. He didn't know what to make of his situation, but it had to be quite rare.

He would be given a second chance, and he was kinda forced to take it. If he would be able to be happy thanks to it, then it was a risk he was willing to take. Maybe, just maybe, life was going to be a little less cruel to him.

"So with that said, time to get going, Thita. It was fun meeting you."

"I guess it was something similar for me to meet you, too. I think.."

Zero raised his hand and pointed at him with his finger.

"Good luck. I hope you find what you seek in life this time."

Thita was ready to reply, but suddenly he felt his body being sucked somewhere. Before he could notice, a gate appeared bellow the area in which he was floating and he was sucked in it with great force.

And just like that, he left the void.

After leaving the void, Zero looked at the area in which Thita stood moments before with indifference. He then began floating somewhere else, his radiating figure pushing away the darkness of the void as if it was nothing.

"I hope you do well, surviving in this shit world. I have high hopes for you after all. My eighth experiment."
