Walking through the forest and getting further and further from Ilia, Thita began wandering. A lot of stuff had happened after all and he had to make some sense of them.
He did have some time before he would finally reach Alex to think about them so he decided to spend most of it, thinking about the future.
Thoughts such as, what to do if Alex was dead, what to do with the bodies of his companions, where should he spend his money at and a lot more questions rose to his head. He had to answer them. He depended on those answers after all.
Just like that, with a bit of walking and thinking, he finally reached his destination.
Seeing the familiar scenery in front of him, Thita began looking around for Alex. It didn't take long and with a short search, he spotted him close to his fallen party members.
'He seems to be alive thankfully. At least that makes things a lot less complicated.'
Walking with small and cautious steps, Thita made his way towards Alex.
As if hearing his footsteps, Alex turned around with fear all over his face. He seemed scared and horrified with everything that happened.
Noticing that the one who made the footsteps, was no other than Thita, Alex felt a bit relieved but he couldn't shake all those horrifying feeling off him. He still couldn't accept the situation.
Noticing Alex’s state, Thita decided to speak to him.
"Alex. Are you alright?"
Hearing the caring and simple question, Alex nodded slowly, as if unable to speak. His body was shaking and tears were in his eyes.
Receiving his answer, Thiat decided to speak once again.
"That's something at least."
Thita paused and look around as if trying to spot something before he continued. He didn't see anything though, so he continued.
"I managed to deal with the enemy that attacked is. We are safe for now at least. Still, we should head back. It's not safe here."
Hearing Thita's words, Alex hesitated to speak, but in the end, he spoke.
"The enemy. The ones that killed-"
Alex couldn't help but pause after mentioning the reality that he was facing. Still he had to continue.
"The ones that killed my friends. Who were they?"

Alex question echoed in the air, before finally Thita answered his question.
"I am not sure. One was a girl with silver hair and long ears. The other one was a boy with almost the same features. Any ideas?"
Hearing the simple description, Alex gritted his teeth and looked at his fallen friends.
"Elves. They... they did that to them?"
Noticing the hollow eyes of his friends and their lifeless bodies. Seeing the ice formed around their wounds on their heads. Knowing that their promising lives were over just like that. Alex gritted his teeth with tears rolling down his once beautiful face.
"I will never forgive them for killing them. I will make them pay. I swear I will-!"
Before he couldn finish though, Thits had placed both his arms on his shoulders. He was looking at Alex straight in his eyes with a cold yet caring look.
"Alex please. Don't make such rush decisions. What happened, happened. You friends died but you are alive. So you shouldn't waste your life for something your friends wouldn't want you to do. Please, don't walk down that path."
Hearing Thita's words, Alex didn't dare to continue his sentence. Thita was right. Even though he didn't wanted to admit it, he had to move on. He had to keep living without them. He had to live his life and get over it. But how?
Before he could answer that question though, tears started rolling down his eyes and he couldn't control them. How could he? His life has changed now that his closest friends were gone.
"Thita. What... what should I do?"
He didn't knew what to do so he wanted to ask for advice. He was in no state to take such a decision. Sure it was a decision that he had to decide by himself but he couldn't. He didn't had the courage.
"For now, let's go back. I am sure that there are people back in the town waiting for you. Don't let them down. Once we are back, you can start over. I am sure that this would be what your fitness would want you to do. So let's go. Let's live up to their expectations."
After saying all that, Thita extend his hand to help Alex stand up. Alex, still with tears all over his face, want sure about taking or not. That didn't stop him though and in the end, he took his hand and let him help him stand up once again.
"Thank you."
It was a simple, yet powerful word to say. Alex didn't knew what else to say, but sometimes, the smallest words, carry the biggest meanings.
"Happy to have you back Alex. So, what should we do now? You are the boss after all."
Thita didn't knew how to proceed himself. He was knew in this world and didn't knew what he had to do in these situations. So he decided to leave it to Alex.
Recieving Thita's question and still a bit traumatized from all that happened, Alex look around and spoke with a bit of uncertainty.
"I.. I am not sure. But I believe that we should carry them back. I can't... just leave them here."
Looking at his friends again with sadness, Alex couldn't help but want to carry them back. He couldn't just leave them here.
"I understand. Do you think that you can carry them?"
Hearing Thita's question, Alex responded with confidence.
"I can!"
Hearing him, Thita nodded and spoke.
"That's good then. If you don't mind, I am planning on carrying some of the wolves with me. We can't return empty handed after all."
Alex nodded after hearing his words.
"Of course."
With Alex back to normal, Thita let out a sigh of relief and began walking. Passing past him, he placed his hand on his shoulder for a monument and spoke.
"Please, take care."
Saying that, he continued walking towards the fallen wolves to pick as many as possible.
Meanwhile, recieving Thita's words, Alex couldn't help but let out a few last tears.
"Thank you..."
Life could sometimes be hard. It gives and takes without a clear reason. One time you can have everything and the other nothing.
Still, life continues and you have to keep up no matter what you have. You have to keep going with determination. Only that way, you can live. Only that way you can perhaps find happiness, even though, in the end it might be short lived.
