Curse of Verbosity

  As you twist the dough into the shape of a pretzel, the target's concept of simple and complex gets equally twisted. They must use the longest word they can think of to convey a concept, for example the simple expression "sure!" might become "indubitably!" Every paragraph spoken while under the influence of the spell requires a roll against the relevant language to avoid having the meaning twisted by using an inappropriate synonym.

  Well that was less than ideal, having a mage cast this strange spell on me, what is going on, why am I using such big words for my private thoughts?

  But the Opponent does no such thing, actually I don't think defenestrate is the right word, it means to throw through a window not simply drop. They stab me again and again. In the end my Stamina gives out and I lie here dying. The spell wears off and I realise that they'd twisted my vocabulary to prevent calling for aid or casting spells on them. Help will not reach me in time and I will die here…
