The 244th Hyper-Imagination Contest: Blue (in the Japanese sense of 青)
Thank you for reading this work.
This piece was written based on the theme of “Blue.”
Since, as a color, it can be applied to almost anything, I struggled with the idea, but in the end I arrived at “eating blue food.”
As mentioned in the story, the color “Blue” is generally considered to suppress the appetite.
At first, I was thinking of a sweets buffet.
A buffet corner covered in a blue gradient from one end to the other.
However, with a buffet, you can simply avoid taking anything you do not want to eat.
To eliminate that escape, I made it a course meal, set during a trip to which they were invited.
In the initial concept, I intended to make everything truly deep blue, but in order to create dishes that were actually feasible, I consulted ChatGPT while planning the course menu, and as a result, the blue turned out to be more subdued than I had imagined.
Misaki and Yuka, who appear in this work, are characters from the main story, Two in the Abandoned House.

Although they usually live among supernatural beings, this time it was simply an ordinary trip. In terms of the timeline, it takes place shortly before Epi.14.
At that time, the Japanese cover illustration was generated with ChatGPT, including the title lettering.
I would like to remake that cover when I have the opportunity.
The EXTRA illustration was designed with the image of a menu card in mind, but since it was created with ChatGPT, various parts of the text were distorted.
I remade it for this retranslation.
Since I was at it, I prepared two versions: one in Japanese and one in English.
I created it using Photo Director 365, but since it is not a dedicated text tool, it turned out to be more troublesome than I had expected.
Because the length of the text differs, especially between Japanese and English, I struggled to fit everything in neatly.
By the way, how do you feel about blue food?
Don’t you think there are many things that are blue and still delicious?
In fact, there are many things that are blue and still delicious.
In conclusion, the sense of discomfort we feel seems to be largely influenced by conditioning shaped through years of living.
It is also said that we tend to feel less resistance toward cold foods, while warm foods create a stronger sense of discomfort.
Come to think of it, I do not mind shaved ice or soft drinks being blue, but I think I would hesitate if rice were blue.
What about cold rice, then?
I am curious, but I would not want to try it.
Well then, I hope we meet again somewhere.
