Hey Diary,

  We made it to Default! It’s even bigger and prettier than Goldvale! We got here halfway through the afternoon, so there was plenty of time to go to the guild hall and get paid!

  Oh! The guild hall has rooms to stay in for members! So we get to stay here and didn't have to wander around, looking for an inn.

  I wasn't paid much. Since my job was to help individuals, the people I helped paid me. Here, I just got four silver per town we visited where I worked, as like a thanks for helping people. It’s to incentivize highly-skilled people to travel around and improve the country as a whole. Or, that’s what the lady who paid me said.

  Luke got paid the same as me. Maki got paid the same, plus a bonus for keeping us all safe and the wagon not stolen.

  Maeve got paid a whole lot, but her jobs were government jobs, so she got paid by the government through the guild. She was pretty happy about it, but said it was rude to ask about specifics when it comes to money. So I don't know exactly how much she was paid.

  Still, this was the biggest amount I've ever been paid at once. That plus what I made on the road means I have enough to eat for, like, weeks. I could rent an apartment for a whole month. I could buy a bunch of fancy soaps for each individual part of my body.

  OH! I could buy a flying carpet!! I was gonna do that, and now we’re in a place where they’re sold! Ok. I need to find a shop with magic stuff. I wonder what other magic stuff there is that I don't know about that I totally need.

  I could ask Luke! Well, I can't ask him right now, because he’s out on a date with Maeve.

  Yep, that’s right, Maeve finally got Luke to date her. I don't know any details, which is something I will be fixing soon, but at some point between me falling asleep last night and waking up this morning, they completely fell in love.

  I'm happy for them. They’re cute together.

  Maki says he doesn't want to know any details, but is still happy they’re together. He kinda avoids details in general, so him saying that surprised no one.

  Wait, when did I last write? Ok, so, the planet is going to explode or something, and I called it, and the Goddess summoned Luke and Maeve to tell them about it.

  Which I’m not bitter about at all, nope.

  I mean, I’m not upset upset. I just don't think it’s fair that I’m the one who figured everything out and was worried, but I’m not the one who got chosen to tell people. But I do get to tell people, because Maeve wants me to go with her to the Queen tomorrow. So it’s ok. Kinda.

  Maki wasn't summoned either, so at least I’m not alone in that.

  Tomorrow Luke and Maki are going to the church to tell everyone. So while Luke and Maeve left for a romantic dinner, Maki and I put together a list of all the earthquakes this week and a list of all the different animal types that have been scared of the ground.

  There’s a lot of both.

  We made a few copies of the lists, in case anyone wants one.

  So yeah, now all I have to do is wait for tomorrow.
