Minutes earlier, Antia received word from Soheil, an old servant, that her future husband was here to see her.
"So the time has come, has it? Let's see if he lives up to expectations." She calmly, perhaps even emotionlessly, thought.
Hence, she followed the servant, without caring about dressing up fancily or not, and entered her father's office, which was at the center of the house.
Entering the room, Antia's eyes immediately locked on the foreign young man, evaluating the one who was to be her husband, and a curious light fshed in her indifferent eyes.
"What is wrong with those weird eyes?"
Her future husband was short and average-looking, but young and healthy, and at least had good hygiene, shaving regurly, and trimmed hair. He was now a bit sweaty and wore armor beyond his paygrade, likely sponsored by the legate himself, which didn't surprise her. Knowing her father, he likely made this meeting a prompt on-the-spot decision. He was always decisive in what he did, after all.
However, although she couldn't perceive the man's realm due to not reaching the Elite Warrior realm yet, his well-defined arm and leg muscles spoke volumes about how strong he was. And she already knew he was an Elite Warrior half a year ago, so his realm could only be higher, not lower.
So far, things were within her expectations, perhaps even on the slightly good side, since this man cared about hygiene and was healthy, something she certainly cared about more than shallow looks.
But then, she saw his sparkling eyes.
When men first saw her, the shallow ones felt lustful or smitten, while the more sensitive ones felt shy or even repulsed by her indifference. In some, she also detected ambition or greed, seeing her as a potential tool.
She could barely tolerate the former, while she would absolutely reject the tter with all her might. Her ideal was a sensitive type who retained some innocence. Not because she preferred it as a woman, but because they were easier to control. As long as she was in control within the house, she could continue her magic research with peace of mind. Any other type might try to seize control over her life, which she didn't want.
Initially, that was what she first saw in his eyes. She saw shyness, which somewhat pleased her. But after a few moments, his eyes changed into something completely unexpected.
She couldn't help but think about how she acts when she looks at a really good magic scroll full of invaluable knowledge.
"He is appreciating me... like some valuable treasure? Why?"
For the first time in her life, she met an anomaly she couldn't fathom or understand. Subconsciously, this made her interested in understanding the man before her.
She couldn't have imagined that the man before her indeed saw her as a holy treasure to increase his strength! Any other man would never consider such a strange angle.
At this time, her aging father spoke.
"Antia, good, you arrived. Let me introduce you. This young man is Optio Kyris Damiran Apollox, my protege and your husband-to-be. He has just broken through to the Extraordinary Warrior realm, is multi-talented and hardworking, is highly respected by his peers, and he will become a Centurion in a year at most." Primanus introduced, fully dispying his future son-in-w's talents.
"Very impressive." Antia thought, seeing Apollox as her peer, at least in the perspective of raw talent for realm advancement. In other subjects, she took it with a grain of salt.
Antia gave a slight nod to Apollox and softly spoke with her beautiful, crisp voice.
"Antia has met my father's protege. I have long heard about you and your excellent qualities. Now that I have met you, you are more impressive than I initially thought." She said clearly, feeling genuine appreciation for Apollox's strength... but that was all.
"Thank you for the compliment, Young Miss. I honestly don't know much about you, but I am very interested to learn." Apollox gave a genuine smile.
"I am a boring woman... There is not much to know about me." Antia calmly replied, expressing her true thoughts about herself.
"Haha! But I think you are very interesting. Please, tell me about yourself." Apollox lightly ughed.
Antia turned silent for a moment, turning to look at her father, and he nodded.
"Okay, since you are so eager to learn... let's see if you can remain interested in me after this..." Antia had a flicker of amusement in her otherwise indifferent eyes.
She initially pnned to make a casual and fake introduction that her parents forced her to memorize, as she needed a husband as a legal cover. But now, she has changed her mind. She will give him the full, unedited course.
"Honestly, except for my natural beauty, which I couldn't care less about, I am a horrible woman to marry. I can't cook, clean, sew, dance, sing, dress up, serve, socialize, or do anything you would expect of a feminine and servile woman my age. I can't stand children since they are dirty and noisy, and I hate long interactions with people who are too dumb to keep up with me. I am also blunt to a fault, and am known to emotionally damage those I interact with by telling them the truth in the face.
The very thought of a man binding me to his whims and serving him like a little baby-making sex sve nauseates every fiber of my being. I want nothing more than to become powerful and produce several heirs, only so I can bury myself in magical knowledge until the end of my days with peace of mind.
Thankfully, I am blessed with wealthy parents and will likely have servants to cover for my womanly fws, so if you feel lonely, you can take a concubine... Or several, if it isn't an economic strain. I don't care as long as it doesn't affect my quality of life or studies. And that is the end of my introduction. If you don't like it, then I will convince my father that we shouldn't marry."
"Well? How will you react to this?" Antia's clear eyes flickered with mischief.
Primanus's jaw went sck, unable to respond or stop her, his mind in turmoil.
"This wasn't what I discussed with her! What is this crazy girl thinking?! Just when I found her the perfect husband! No sane man would want to marry her now-"
"Perfect!" Apollox excimed.
Antia's and Primanus's minds short-circuited.
"What?"
"I love magic! Hey, hey, can you please teach me?! I always wanted to be a magician. Pretty please?" Apollox's eyes almost shone like the sun, his face radiating with blinding enthusiasm.
In the Magic Princess's eyes, despite his armor, Apollox almost seemed like a puppy with a wagging tail.
"Cute." She thought.
"I can try teaching you, but whether you can understand the complicated magic theories behind everything and advance as a magician is up to you. If you have no talent for it, I will encourage you to give up early." Antia sincerely said, her eyes softening somewhat.
"Perhaps this future husband of mine is more interesting than I thought... Or he is just that good of an actor? I wonder how long it would take for him to give up?"
At this time, Primanus finally snapped out of it. However, his confusion was all over his face.
"Wait, did her awful introduction just make this protege of mine even more enthusiastic about marrying her? He wants to study magic? Him? A soldier without any background at all? What?"
While still confused, his daughter turned her head to him.
"Father, I am very satisfied with this interesting fiancé you have found for me. If there is nothing else, I shall return to my studies."
Without saying a word more, she left the room with steady steps. As the door closed, Primanus just blinked, looking at the closed door, and then at his protege, who looked very pleased.
In an almost humorous twist, his protege turned out to love magic to the point that he ignored all of his daughter's faults.
"Is this a match made by the gods?" He couldn't help but think.
Back in the day, if a woman said all of this to him, by the half-point, he would storm out. He was also certain that any promising soldier in his army would be the same. Instead, this protege of his can not only keep up with her, but also likes it? What else could it be, if not a divine arrangement?
Thinking to that point, Primanus spoke to the young man.
"I apologize if my daughter was rude, but as she said, she is honest to a fault. If you don't want to marry her-"
"I want to marry her!" Apollox stood up and said with a solemn look. "Please let me marry her, father-in-w! I cannot think of a more perfect wife than her!"
Primanus couldn't help but blink.
"You like magic that much?" He doubtfully asked.
"I do!" Apollox repeatedly nodded.
Primanus gave his protege a long look, but gave up on dissuading him.
"He will just find the hard way how difficult Magic is... But since he likes magic so much, to the point he seems to want to support my daughter fully, I guess things would still work out."
Having made up his mind, Primanus spoke.
"Alright, then, I am officially engaging you to my daughter, and you will wed when you become a Centurion, assuming within the year."
"Thank you, father-in-w!" Apollox happily said.
However, Apollox didn't expect Primanus to continue.
"Furthermore... I am officially adopting you as my son. If I die, you will inherit my wealth and noble title while legally protecting my wife and daughter. Can I trust you with this responsibility?" Primanus solemnly asked.
Apollox immediately saluted, giving the most respectful and solemn look he could muster.
"I won't let you down, father-in-w!"
"Good son-in-w. I have high hopes for you." Primanus finally smiled. "Now go pack your things, you're moving in."
Apollox blinked a few times.
"Moving in?" Apollox quizzically asked, tilting his head.
"Into my house, d," Primanus said with an amused look.
"W-Wait, I am not married yet to her... this is so sudden..." Apollox felt shy again.
Primanus facepalmed.
"By the gods, d. You are moving to a vacant room within my house, separate from my daughter. You will not consummate your marriage until you are on your two feet! Now get a move on!" Primanus impatiently said.
"Yes, Sir!" Apollox finally reacted, saluted, and left.
.
.
.
Only after I left the house did I fully digest what was happening.
"By the gods, I just got the perfect wife, and even the best father-in-w I can ask for! Even better, I am moving into their house! Is the goddess of luck smiling on me!?"
Just imagining the explosive multiplier growth made me shiver in excitement.
"Moreover... my new wife, whoops, fiancée, is gifted in magic! I can finally learn magic!"
My abilities already meet the requirements to start my magic studies, but I ck the knowledge. In this regard, the system was rigid. Without knowledge or adequate circumstances, I can't progress! Now that I am getting the knowledge, I couldn't help but wonder-
"What would happen to the system when my Magic Realm advances?" I asked myself.
When the Warrior Realm advanced in real life, it gave the simution a speed multiplier. Now that the Magician Realm was about to advance, I couldn't help but feel excited!
"It wouldn't be worse, right? This might greatly increase my strength."
With that thought in mind, with a light step, I went to my room to pack my belongings.
