Yorun stands amongst the dead inside the fortress of Ghilantriaz raising them all to join his army yet his mind cannot calm the cool air hitting his exposed shoulder a reminder that had Hykalin elected to go for a headshot he would have been lucky to survive. The victory with the siege feels so hollow and yet the worst part is how theres been not a peep of Hykalin until that shot took out part of his armour and broke his arm then nothing but silence even over the hours after that. Golanier teleports next to Yorun.
"We've searched the surrounding areas and the waters around the elven ships. First off we discovered bodies in the water, been there a little bit now so that explains the explosions, we were infiltrated and second off the surrounding areas have seemingly been undisturbed, not a single sign anyone other than our patrols have come through so I'd assume he found our routes imitated it and used little bits of nature magic to cover up any irregularities. I'll give Hykalin this, he's figuring out how to be a thorn in our sight and a foreboding one at that" Golanier said with a primarily annoyed yet slightly impressed tone of voice
"If he continues on the path he is walking now he may just kill us and we wouldn't ever notice. He's a schemer, won't reveal himself if possible or if he does it will be when he is assured victory" Sunhale said as he stepped out of the shadows nearby still out of sight of any other living person
"We can't play his game, he have to make him play ours" Golanier said which seemed to get a reaction from Yorun
"...We want to force him into our plans? We have an easy way to do it. Let us return home first" Yorun said
Both Golanier and Sunhale grow curious as they teleport back to the Kolakinta mountain fortress and the living people there stare at Yorun as he walks by and goes back up to Ghairlakriars corpse to make himself a replacement pauldron. Yorun looks at Sunhale.
"Grab our allies representatives in the war room. I need to explain to them my plan so that they do not get surprised by what happens" Yorun said once again growing the curiosity of Sunhale and Golanier
Sunhale walks away to go gather the envoys and at least one of the elven masters while Yorun looks up to the gigantic head of Ghairlakriars corpse. Golanier follows his gaze hoping to gleam his plan but then his own eyes widen as he puts the plan together then he laughs a little.
"How fun, won't be easy you know" Golanier said with a smirk
"I know but it is needed" Yorun said
Yorun and Golanier head to the war room with all the allies representatives filtering in Dyre, Yanikast, Ruukam and Peaceful-Winds as well as Virtalias all sit at the war table overlooking the maps. All of them turn their attention to Yorun as he sits down with Sunhale and Golanier at his sides.
"Why have you called us here?" Virtalias asked
"Hykalin Ghohalan, he did not show himself during the siege of Ghilantriaz but his presence was unmistakable. He allowed us to take the fortress just so he could cause some chaos and figure out if he could get through my armour. He did, had he gone for the head chances are I would have died" Yorun said
"Truly? I admit I am surprised" Peaceful-Winds said
"As am Yanikast and I, from all we have seen the dragon materials you gave from Ghairlakriar per our trade agreement are extremely strong to a near unfathomable degree" Dyre said
"Coming to your allies and saying you nearly died isn't exactly a strong point so why come to us?" Ruukam asked
"So you don't get surprised by my response. This whole thing has shown one fact about Hykalin, he is far more careful than his brothers who both came for a head to head against me and my forces, he though is choosing the lighter approach, sacrifice some things to gain information and develop strategies. Continue as we are and we walk into his plans and we will lose so he needs to be forced out of his comfort zone and into our game where his piece can be knocked off the board" Yorun said
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
"I assume you have a plan then? Just what can you do to force him to do anything?" Yanikast asked
"Something that'd scare the world and especially Hykalins parents. Raise Ghairlakriars corpse into a proper undead, the roar would shake the world" Yorun said much to everyone's shock
"Are you insane!?" Ruukam shouted as they stood up immediately
"No, this actually does make sense. Hykalin would be forced to go after you as soon as possible, Ghairlakriar is a superweapon if revived we discussed as such with Monarch Isaile when the prospect of this alliance was brought up. Better yet he would be forced to go straight for you as once you are gone then the undead will drop presumably" Virtalias said thinking about this as logically as he can
"Regardless of if it works that dragon's roar WILL shake the planet it'll send the world into a panic!" Ruukam said
"I know which is why I called you all here, you can inform your own peoples and your allies if they can be trusted so you all can prepare as needed, The Dwarves and Djellir are also permitted to send some people here to examine the reanimated corpse of Ghairlakriar if it is of interest" Yorun said
"And with that you have us warned and in full agreement with the plan" Yanikast said
"Indeed, this is a chance we'll likely never have again, our governments know that and will prepare accordingly upon our return" Dyre said
"I will inform the other masters and Monarch Isaile, we have some precautions already in place that we need but activate. Ghairlakriar is a known force after all so just in case she ever roared we prepared long ago" Virtalias said
"Gods I can't believe I have to relay this information but at the least you forewarning gives a very good impression even without having spoken with the Collectives Council" Ruukam said getting a nod from Yorun
"We have to set up our own precautions and to tell some other allies within our territory so for now head back to your homes and tell them of what will happen, relay back to us when preparations are complete" Yorun said
The emissaries all immediately teleported home informing their governments who quickly panic to set up everything they can for the soon to be rumbling threat all the while Sunhale looks to Yorun.
"This is going to be insane to say the least" Sunhale said
"I know but what about everything we have done hasn't been?" Yorun asked
"Fair point" Sunhale responded as the two men laughed a little
The next several weeks are nothing but barrier preparations and talking with allies or controlling undead to do more for barriers elsewhere in their territory, some unallied empires catch wind of something going on and prepare certain barriers and bunkers as a just in case even if some don't fully understand what is to come. By the end of it Yorun stands beneath Ghairlakriar where he has worked several times and sees several dwarves and Djelir standing further back in anticipation for what is to come, Yorun has the barriers around the fortress be raised as the last, all sound from the outside is cut off while the land and building are protected as much as they can from the shaking. Yorun breathes in deeply as he holds his arms out towards the great dragon's body and starts to channel magic into it, just as he has uncountable times before he feels his magic slipping into the body of Ghairlakriar traveling through it yet never before now has the size of her been so noticeable even in the smaller form she took before death, magic can travel far is such short amounts of time but as it races through Ghairlakriars body it yet still takes hours for the legs to move in response and Yoruns soul aches as the magic continues to spread across the giant body, he can feel fire igniting once again within the organs of the great dragon muscles knitting together and shifting across the bones that begin to move again, hours further and the bases of the tail, wings and neck start to move with the once stone like scales regaining a little colour as green light from Yoruns magic leaks out from under the same scales as it continues it's travels. Several more hours pass as the night falls and it gets darker with the green lights becoming more noticeable as the wings and tail become fully free everyone sees the scales regaining colour until it surrounds the eyes of Ghairlakriar as the magic pours into it reigniting them in a green blaze. The looming figure of Ghairlakriar begins to stand that alone shaking the ground for miles then the dragon begins to grow, towering over the mountains already the dragons head soon takes up the night sky blocking the moons night and yet it continues until nothing but the blazing green eye is visible before the dragons head rears up pointing straight into the sky, the barriers silence the incoming roar yet the rest of the world unprepared for it hears across the land a roar that shakes the very world so violently cities begin to crumble, mountains have rockslides before fully breaking apart and the world feels like it will be ripped asunder. No nation across the realm can deny what that roar was, the awakening of a dragon under one persons control before the skies across the world are bathed in green fire from the same undead dragons mouth...
