Chapter 270 – Atlantic.

[Chapter Size: 1800 Words.]Third Person POV

  Sea.

  ...

  ...

The trip to Atntic would not be quick. After all, the only path to go directly to the Kingdom was hidden beneath the sea — it meant sinking straight into the middle of the ocean.

They only needed to know the exact location; there was no way to teleport directly there, which ensured that no one in the world knew about it.

When the three appeared with Floo powder in a coastal country and Apparated once again, they entered a specific location in the middle of the ocean. The princess took out a device, and as soon as she Apparated and threw it downward, a ptform emerged above the water, the artifact expanding a blue energy while they nded upon that blue yer.

The device began to raise each of its hooks, forming a circle around the three — the princess, the bodyguard, and the wizard advisor. Quickly, they shot down into the water, moving at high speed toward the depths of the sea.

Atntic had always prided itself internally on being the most technologically advanced kingdom in the world. They mixed magic with tools, creating magical artifacts. Amazingly, they often observed the Muggle world, seeking new ideas to create artifacts as Muggles evolved. And the Muggles had never evolved as much as they had now, since the beginning of the twentieth century, creating all kinds of things — whether for daily life or even for war.

Atntic had always kept an eye on that, after all, they recognized the value of Muggles — something quite different from the rest of the wizarding world, which seemed to have been stuck in time for centuries, without innovating much at all.

Either way, the rectangur ptform kept descending at high speed.

"I hope we arrive soon," murmured the guard, Darius Korran, while Princess Thalindra picked up the communicator.

"What's happening in the Kingdom? How are things there?" asked Thalindra, when the communicator began to glow.

"Princess, you're coming?!" asked a female voice.

"Obviously. Tell me how things are now. That's an order!" demanded Princess Thalindra.

Whoever was on the other side seemed to hesitate. "Your father... he..." — the woman tried to say, but was quickly interrupted.

"Tell me now! I command you, as princess of the Kingdom!" excimed Thalindra, as the device crackled.

"Listen, princess... things aren't good here. A bunch of creatures, monsters we've never seen, are destroying the entire castle! They're coming from some point inside it, and they won't stop. The forces were split, the king was evacuated along with your mother, but..." The sound of gunfire could be heard constantly behind the woman's voice. "Do you see this?! The entire strength of the Kingdom is trying to contain them so they don't reach the city, but they're already breaching the defenses! I'm near the houses... the creatures are huge..." An explosion came from the other side, far louder than the gunfire they were already hearing. "By the gods of the sea! What is that...?" said the woman on the communicator, until suddenly, the call was cut off.

"Sha? Sha, are you there?" the princess shouted, but there was no response.

Her two companions looked at her with concern.

"We have to get there quickly," murmured the princess, nervous and anxious, as she put away the communicator.

The Kingdom finally came into view ten minutes ter as they descended at a steady speed. Gradually, they began to notice the glow — a rge luminous bubble, like a sphere cut in half, resting on the ocean floor. It was so immense that it stretched for kilometers. They quickly headed toward it, entering through one of the passages and stopping on a ptform. As soon as they passed through the barrier, all the water stayed behind, leaving only the princess and her companions on solid ground.

Their arrival was quickly noticed by the guards, who looked quite distressed about what was happening in the center of the Kingdom.

"Princess, you're here!" said one of them, bowing to her.

"Quickly, we don't have time for that! Let's go to the castle!" she excimed.

The older wizard, Elowen Tharros, knew what to do. He activated a symbol beneath their feet — a blue line shone, and the ptform began to move, flying swiftly like a magic carpet made of pure energy. They advanced toward the center of the Kingdom, while the princess looked down, seeing people running in panic. Fear spread through the streets, and the closer they got to the center, the more chaos they saw.

From there, the castle could be seen consumed by destruction. A massive creature had emerged, destroying houses and towers — a kind of aquatic lizard with a colossal triton form, more than thirty meters tall. Atntic's magical weapons fired incessantly at the monster, but the attacks seemed to have no effect.

"What is that?" murmured the princess.

"I have no idea, but it's huge... and there are more of them!" replied Darius, the guard, pointing to other smaller creatures emerging from the castle.

"Where are they coming from? We haven't had enemies for centuries! Where did these creatures come from?" questioned the wizard, astonished. But no one had an answer.

"Let's go! I want to find my father!" ordered the princess.

The ptform quickly descended into the middle of the battlefield, nding near the king's command post. He was shouting orders to his soldiers, surrounded by advisors and officers doing the same.

  "Father!" she called.

The man, with white hair and beard, turned abruptly, surprised to see his daughter.

"Thalindra! What are you doing here?" he scolded.

"Father, how can you say that? What's happening? Where are these monsters coming from? Who are they?" she asked, distressed, watching the immense creature withstand explosions and powerful spells without taking any damage. "Where is Sha?" she murmured, seeing the enormous hole in the castle where the creature had emerged. The hole was much rger than the others, and soldiers fought around it, using magical machine guns and explosive spells.

"We don't know! They just started appearing suddenly in the castle corridors! Your mother was almost killed! I didn't want you here!" replied the king, panting and covered in soot. "I don't know about Sha yet, but have you finished your tasks on the surface?" he asked with concern, without taking his eyes off the battle unfolding before them.

"Yes, I managed to reconfirm being released from my duties. But that's not important now, Father... what is that thing?" said the girl, still staring in horror at the creature.

"Nothing is working against it!" excimed the king.

"No, my lord, none of our attacks are effective! Its skin is too tough!" shouted a nearby soldier.

How was that possible? To them, it was as if the world had turned upside down. They knew every creature in the sea — their skins, characteristics, weaknesses. Atntic prided itself on knowing and studying every form of marine life, magical or not. They lived at the bottom of the ocean, where they had access to every kind of being, and yet... before those monsters, no one knew what to say. Those things didn't seem to come from this world.

Meanwhile, the monsters continued advancing, destroying more and more buildings.

"I'm going to help!" excimed the princess, running forward.

"Wait, Thalindra! Don't approach recklessly!" shouted her father, but she ignored him, advancing toward the battlefield. Her two companions followed immediately.

"I need to find Sha... where is she?" murmured the princess, thinking her friend — one of the army commanders — might have fallen. She finally found her, fighting atop one of the houses, unching attacks with one of her weapons.

"She's fine," murmured Thalindra, relieved, turning her gaze back to the creature. "I'll try to cast a spell. I want you to give me cover."

  The two companions nodded.

In the next moment, the princess began to chant an incantation, raising her hands. The air above the city began to turn into water, quickly forming a gigantic whirlpool that drew everyone's attention.

"That's... Thalindra! She's here!" murmured Sha, fascinated as she saw the immense force of water forming above the city.

The whirlpool grew even rger, powerful and unstable, but the creature didn't seem to care. It continued destroying houses and killing Atntic's warriors who tried to face it.

When she realized she had finished the spell, Thalindra cast the enchantment forward, moving her hands with force. In the next instant, the colossal circle of water surged ahead, striking the creature with full power. The explosion caught everyone by surprise — the water crashed with such violence that the impact made the ground tremble.

For a moment, everything was covered in smoke and steam. Then, the creature emerged, roaring, destroying more houses around it.

"What...?" Thalindra couldn't believe it. Her magic didn't seem to have any effect.

"This is bad, Princess..." murmured Darius.

"There must be some way to fight it!" said Elowen, gripping his staff as the magical energy around them wavered dangerously.

"How about we unch a combined attack? I can help create something even more powerful. You're the strongest water magic user in the Kingdom... but you can become even stronger," said the old man, staring at her seriously.

"Alright, let's try," replied the princess, still looking at the ruins and the fallen bodies, while the creature advanced — soon it would be right in front of them.

As Thalindra was about to prepare herself, a shadow began to form beside her. She was startled and quickly stepped back, while the wizard and the bodyguard pointed, respectively, their staff and weapon at the figure.

"T-this..." excimed the princess, immediately recognizing the nature of that presence.

"It's that man's shadow..." Darius Korran said.

"Yes... his shadow," murmured the old man cautiously, ready to react.

The princess, however, already understood what she was seeing. "It was at my feet the whole time..." she whispered, watching the dark figure. "Could he have been watching us from the beginning?"

She remembered the st conversation she had with that man — Severus Prince — and how he seemed to know more about the Kingdom than he should. Now, his shadow was there. That could only mean one thing: he had been spying on her all along.

Before anyone could say anything, the shadow dissipated. In its pce appeared Severus Prince himself, his cold gaze fixed on the colossal creature approaching, destroying everything in its path.

"That monster looks strong," he said with a faint smile. "I like that." Severus was eager to add the rgest of their creatures to his army.

Known for always being one step ahead, Severus clenched his fist, the air around him trembling with his presence. Then he took a step forward — and in the blink of an eye, vanished.
