Chapter 57: Unexpected Nap.
(Celia’s POV)
Waking up, I found nothing wrong. In the middle of some forest, I was laying my head on Faith’s lap, and she was lightly rubbing it without a care in the world.
Celia: “What happened?” I asked with a yawn.
Prior to… whatever caused me to fall asleep, I truly felt like death itself. Which is weird, as I am actually married to a Death Goddess, heh… But now, I feel perfect! What happened in between then and now? Oh, wise Faith, please enlighten me!
Faith: “The wittle baby was oh so cranky, so I put her down for a nappy.” She jokingly answered.
Celia: “(~OAO)”
Faith: “You needed some rest, so I used magic to make you sleep for a bit. Don’t worry, I looked you all over, and you were just oddly tired for some reason. Your body is perfectly fine!” She clarified, seemingly ignoring her previous words.
Celia: “Oh, I see… How long was I asleep for?” I asked in reply with a curious tone.
Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website.
Faith: “Three months, not long at all.” She answered with a nonchalant tone.
Celia: “…”
Ah, to her, a long lived Higher Being, months are actually pretty short periods of time, huh? Well, it is the same to me as well. Even hearing her answer, I wasn’t really upset that I slept for that long. In fact… it would be nice to sleep for longer.
Faith: “Now that you’ve had a decent bit of sleep, shall we be on our way? The game is still ongoing, and our absence will soon be a problem.” She proposed.
Celia: “Huh? What did I miss?” I replied with a nervous tone.
Faith: “Hm? Nothing much at all. Those watching the game play out… seemingly think that you’ve died, though. After all, they haven’t seen you for months at this point.” She replied with a hearty laugh.
Celia: “Ah…” I say with a relieved tone.
With Faith’s help, I got up from my resting position, and we were soon back in the air once more. Unlike before, that is, before Faith made me sleep, I actually had energy this time.
The true problem… is that I have nowhere to direct this renewed energy. I doubt that Faith would just tell me the location of another player, as the girl is a real cheeky one. This whole, having no destination thing, is also most likely to her preference as well…
Faith: “You’re still a bit of a sleepy girl, so I’ll be picking our next adventure.” She said after bopping my nose with one of her dainty fingers.
Celia: “What war crimes, and or crimes against existence, will you have me commit, Faith?” I jokingly asked in reply.
Faith: “Nothing too… evil? Haha, no, I am messing with you. I shall lead you onto a very fun filled event, rest assured!” She clarified with a joking salute.
Celia: “…”
I believe Faith, but sometimes, it is hard to trust her words. If this was some shitty novel, perhaps her name would be “Loki” instead. But thankfully, existence has some common decency, and at least some creativity…
