Volume 9. Chapter 81: Lack Of Faith, Or Rather... Confusion. (Chapter 882)

Chapter 81: Lack Of Faith, Or Rather... Confusion.

Celia… said she failed, and I, while not blaming her… agree with that assessment. The others do not think this, though. How could they?…

When I bring up the past… they say that I am making things up, or misremembering them. No one else… shared this confliction.

Celia: “I failed myself back then, and I failed my family as well.” Was all that she said when I asked about this.

Like a Cultivator, Celia has been in seclusion for so many years. Taking a break from narration, I stood at her door, motionless, and questioning everything. If… if what is happening… my assumption being correct… I might have to divorce her.

  Grab!

  Vulely: “???”

Celia: “Are you okay, dear?” She asked with great concern.

  Vulely: “??????”

I detest drama of all kinds, even well written/acted drama… Which is why I was against even adding this to the story, but what the hell is this?! This isn’t Celia!

This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.

Vulely: “Who… are you?” I ask in grand confusion.

Celia: “Your wife… laid bare, incomplete. I noticed that your mind was about to… well… there is no nice way to put it… shatter.” She answered with a smile, leading her wife, me, further into the room.

Celia… took me to the sitting area, presenting me with sweets and tea. I haven’t seen her in… over twenty years. For beings like us, that amount of time is truly nothing.

Regardless, Celia has changed… drastically!!! Where are the various scars adorning her toned body, the steely look in her eyes that Celia only puts away when with family? Her skin and body look so soft, eyes cute, happiness blatant and beautiful.

Vulely: “May I… ask what you did? What you are… doing?” I weakly ask.

Celia: “Hm? Well, you just did ask that.” She jokingly replied, showing that cute, cheeky side, which I had not seen for hundreds of thousands of years.

Vulely: “…” This sight… caused me to weep like a child.

Celia: “Vulely… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you with that joke.” She said with seemingly endless remorse.

If my confusion was grand before… it is biblical now. Ah, I am not crying from the joke. Rather… it is from how Celia currently is. How… she should be.

This… my memories not being what the others recall… is a recent thing. It started… days after Celia gave me this job, ramping up when she went into seclusion. Is… is this my doing… Do I even have the power to do all this?…

Celia: “It was me, not you.” She clarified without my asking, like she read my mind, despite my knowing full well that Celia doesn’t do that to her loved ones.

Vulely: “I…” Didn’t add anything more than that, as I hoped Celia would continue.

Celia: “Although… it is, indirectly, something that I am doing with your help. You were… the best candidate for this, with Runey being my second pick.” She explained, showing an odd… hint of regret on her face and in her tone.
