Chapter 64: Where Is The Runey…

  Runey never actually told Xena which Universe she hailed from, but that wasn’t needed. Since she gained such a cheeky personality… few Higher Beings didn’t know of the absurd controller of Systems.

  Reen: “Runey? Yes… that woman is unfortunately at the helm of all Systems, yet she was like… that, unfortunately.” She spoke with an aching head.

  Xena: “Is she from your Universes, Reen?” She asked in reply. “We should just ignore that she said, “unfortunately” twice…” She secretly thought.

  Reen: “That is correct. Though, I do wish it wasn’t so, as this means that I am partially responsible for Runey coming into existence, and annoying us all to no end for so very long.” She answered with a deep groan.

  Originally, Xena expected most Wills of Existence to be… odd, cruel, and hard to deal with. Rather, this wasn’t the case at all. The Wills of Celia’s and Xena’s Universes were… special, you see.

  At most, other Wills are impatient, but never crazy, or overly cruel. Reen was one such Will, who warmly welcomed Vulely and Xena, despite them invading Reen’s domain.

  Vulely: “We haven’t been able to contact Runey at all, and the System in our Universes are… well, they need to be updated, and or fixed, a bit.” She informed with a serious, awkward tone.

  Reen: “I can vividly imagine your plight…” She replied with a deadpan expression, oddly with a tone of that of pure compassion.

  Xena and Vulely: “???”

  Reen: “She did the same to your System, right? Left a bunch of bugs, or oddities, in it. I still have so many people left… who randomly turned into frogs upon reaching Level 777, that I need to return to their original Evolution…” She clarified, light leaving her pretty eyes.

  Vulely: “( ’-’ ~)”

  Feeling lucky that nothing like that happened to them, Vulely quickly returned to being calm. Xena, on the other hand… was now terrified. “I must force Runey to fix anything, and ALL other pranks she left in our System!!!” She vowed in her mind, even willing to fight Runey to get this done.

  Reen: “Even with my power, punishing Runey isn’t something that I can do. I assume it is the same for you two.” She continued, seemingly happy to talk about Runey’s antics with others who’ve dealt with them as well.

  Xena: “When we find her… we’ll make sure that Runey fixes all those jokes in every System, not just ours.” She spoke with extreme righteousness.

  Vulely: “Indeed. She is too cheeky, and has gone too far this time!” She added with a nod.

  Reen: “No, no. She got better. After all, her personality was still new and young back then. Runey grew out of doing those things, and she did plan on correcting her mistakes.” She explained, not willing to completely throw Runey under the bus.

  Frankly, it had been a very long time since Xena or Vulely had seen her. So the idea that Runey finally matured… wasn’t that far of a stretch for the two to accept.

  Vulely: “Either way, we need to find her.” She said with a relieved tone.

  Reen: “Good luck with that. Last thing I heard about Runey… she had been detained in Home, and was looking for a good lawyer…” She nonchalantly replied, causing her conversations partners to now be disillusioned and shocked to an extreme.

  Vulely and Xena: “(~OAO)”
