Chapter 27: Gaining Clarity.
Celia: “Bringing up kids is… a cheap trick. Nemu, I wasn’t even expecting half of these revelations.” She expressed with a groan.
Nemu: “Oh, but I needed to calm you down. Celia, please see it from my perspective.” She replied with a pleading tone.
Celia: “That’s not something that, even with your memories, I could ever properly do.” She said with a sad shrug.
Nemu: “When I found you… the pain was immense, that I let another one of us be created.” She continued with a serious expression.
Celia: “…”
She understood what Nemu meant; after all, she had gained Nemu’s memories. Celia was still processing those gifts, and Nemu was trying to help with that.
Nemu: “And then, soon after, I met Ruina, your daughter. I gave you a curse, something that is currently torturing your very soul, while… you gifted me someone to love. I gave pain, you gave happiness. This… is too unbalanced; I deserve none of what you’ve granted, all things you asked nothing in return for, a family.” She said with a tone of extreme regret.

Celia: “Please stop making me out to be some grand martyr, Nemu. This false belief, using it to justify my existence… didn’t end well, and you know that.” She lectured in reply while crossing her arms.
Nemu: “I am not doing what you’re accusing me of. If I was… then I’d let you carry on with denying yourself. Rather, I’m just ensuring that you don’t fall into the same trap. And… to let you know how thankful I am for what you’ve done and given me.” She clarified with a smile.
At this, Celia finally gave up. At the very least, she now had someone else to carry this unique burden with. And even better… that someone was a friend, part of the family.
Celia: “Hey, did you bring me here just to… tell me all this? Like, is your coma a lie?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.
Nemu: “A Lie? No, no. Not in the least.” She denied with a scoff.
Celia: “Alright, then why the hell can’t you wake up? Faith assured me that she could get you out of your coma…” She replied with a thinking pose.
Nemu: “Playing doctor with an unknown race? No one else could heal me, you see.” She replied with a dismissive, smug shrug.
Celia: “(- _ -)”
With Nemu successfully poisoning Celia’s mind, getting her to accept her race, the woman went back to her normal, cheeky nature.
Celia: “What is the true cause, Nemu? I want to see my family, not continue with your bratty antics.” She expressed with an impatient tone.
Nemu: “I accepted myself after meeting you, in taking so long to do that, my connection to Mana was greatly weakened. And, since I had to use so much power to allow Ruina to keep her memories…” She finally explained, looking embarrassed.
Celia: “I get it. I’ll help you with converging Mana, so that you can be awake outside of this realm.” She replied in a relieved but somewhat annoyed tone.
Nemu: “(^^) b”
