Volume 10. Chapter 45: A Massive Hit To My Pride. (Chapter 946)

Chapter 45: A Massive Hit To My Pride.

  Narrator Vulely: “???”

Nemu: “Did you happen to lose a majority of your brain cells somewhere, or is your mental state so bad that you’ve dropped triple digit IQ points?” She asked with a raised eyebrow, a mix between anger and empathy.

  Narrator Vulely: “( ’-’ ~)”

Okay, I’ll admit to not being in a good headspace at the moment. After all, agreeing with Nemu’s assessment means I get a good excuse for being an idiot.

Nemu: “Let me clarify something, Vulely. This entire operation requires Mana, which I and Celia have full control over, if we please. As such, even if you leave… I can just pull you back, by telling the Mana you use to do so.” She earnestly explained, oddly treating me like a child.

Narrator Vulely: “Fine, fine… I get it. I guess that I’ll have to fight you, then!” I replied with a pouty tone, unbecoming of my age, facing Nemu in battle once more.

Again, Nemu did not take up a weapon, nor did she seem even the least bit worried. Frankly, she must just be buffing, right? That has to be it, and this Mana girl is trying to trick me!

Nemu: “Vulely…” She expressed with a deadpan tone.

Narrator Vulely: “You’re looking at me like a disappointed parent… Either way, I won’t fall for you schemes any longer, and nor will you figure out why I’ve been moping around this entire time!” I shout out, reaching the limit of my patient, with this level of shame being the highest I’ve experienced in my life.

  Hours Of Battling Later!

  Nemu: “…”

  Narrator Vulely: “…”

Hours upon hours… and nothing to show for it. Rather, Nemu was standing proud, no wounds visible. She didn’t hurt me, either, so this could literally go on for years if we don’t stop…

Nemu: “Are you finished with your fruitless tantrum?” She asked with another raised eyebrow.

Narrator Vulely: “You… have been hiding your true strength… haven’t you?!” I accuse once more, but seriously this time.

Nemu: “Nope, not at all.” She instantly denied.

Narrator Vulely: “I don’t believe you. How else can you just fight me without breaking a sweat?” I scoffed in reply.

Even if the past Vulely stays dormant like a fool, not training (not like she could right now) at all, my power should overshadow Nemu’s. Without Celia’s aid, I would be weaker than Nemu. But that isn’t the case currently.

Nemu: “Alright, I can see that, whatever you witnessed… truly hurt you, Vulely.” She said with a deeply empathic tone and expression.

Narrator Vulely: “That being the case… Why can’t you just leave me to deal with this turmoil alone, as I prefer?” I replied with a stern tone, still holding my weapon.

Nemu: “Considering how you’ve failed to notice that I’ve cut off your connection to the future Celia… that would be a very bad idea. Even after all the hints I’ve given you…” She answered with a long sigh.

Narrator Vulely: “…Doing that is so…” My words cut off there.

Why? Well… Nemu appeared before me, tapping my head. Soon, despite my struggling to stay awake, I fell into a forced sleep. With Nemu obviously going to invade my memories while I am unconscious…
