Gohan spent the day on the lookout studying, talking with Dende, and Mr. Popo, and training with Piccolo until Trunks got out of the Chamber and headed back to Capsule Corp, Gohan decided to go with him, “I’ll be back Dende I want to see if Bulma needs anymore help.” Gohan said as he and Trunks flew off the lookout.

  Gohan and Trunks arrived at Capsule Corp, “You, go find my mom I’m going to get some sleep.” Trunks said as he walked away.

  “Ok bye.” Gohan said as he went to find Bulma, she was still in the b with Dr. Briefs who was sleeping in a chair, they had finished working on Android 16, who sat up from the table he was ying on.

  “How is everything working, big guy?” Bulma asked as 16 got off the table and stood in front of Bulma.

  “Yes, everything is in working condition, thank you.” 16 said as he looked at Gohan who walked up to them.

  “Hello, it’s nice to meet you.” Gohan said looking at 16, who was staring at Gohan.

  “… I would like to run a field test.” 16 said turning to look at Bulma.

  “That should be fine but don’t overdo it, I just repaired you.” Bulma said looking at 16.

  “Gohan, would you help me, I will require your assistance.” 16 asked

  “… sure.” Gohan said looking at 16.

  Gohan and 16 flew out of Capsule Corp and towards a forest nearby where 16 nded, there were some deer’s that were nearby, “Is everything working fine?” Gohan asked as he nded behind him.

  “Yes, my diagnostics indicates 100% functionality, although my body registers slightly lighter.” 16 said as he walked up to the deer’s.

  “That’s good… do you like animals too.” Gohan asked as he watched 16 start feeding the deer.

  “Yes, they calm me.” 16 said

  Gohan found some apples and walked up next to 16 to feed the deer’s as well, “Me too, I’m interested in lots of things. I want to become a schor.” Gohan said as he looked up at 16.

  “That is a good goal, I’m certain that you will become a great schor one day.” 16 said as he petted the deers.

  “… why do you want to kill my dad?” Gohan asked after a few moments of silence.

  “It is what I was created to do, it’s my only objective; I have no other purpose, that is why I was stored away… I despise conflict, and as a weapon that makes me defective.” 16 said as he looked down at Gohan. “Dr. Gero once told me that he made me in the image of his dead son, who was daring and bold unlike me. I’m a war machine who shuns war… therefore I’m a failure.” 16 said looking at Gohan.

  “… I don’t like fighting either, but I know that if I want to protect everything, and everyone I care about then there are times when I must fight.” Gohan said looking at 16.

  “That is true, I felt the same way when Cell first came trying to absorb 17 & 18, I knew that there was a chance that I couldn’t win but I still fought.” 16 said looking sad.

  “When we defeat Cell, maybe we can wish back 17 & 18.” Gohan said trying to cheer up 16

  “… that would be nice, the reason I asked you out here is because, you are a seem lot more powerful than what my data says. I wish to evaluate your potential in combat if you wouldn’t mind it.” 16 said looking at Gohan.

  “… hmm no I wouldn’t mind, it shouldn’t hurt to do some more training, but can we go somewhere else I don’t want to disturb the animals here.” Gohan said looking at 16, as he pet the deer that was eating an apple out of his hand.

  “I was going to suggest the same thing, follow me.” 16 said with a smile as he looked around, before he flew up and flew towards a rge empty field a couple of miles away from West City. “There is no living creature, nearby we can go all out without fear of disturbing anything.” 16 said as he turned to look at Gohan.

  “That’s good, I’m ready whenever you are.” Gohan said as he got into his fighting stance.

  16 nodded his head before he unched himself towards Gohan and threw out a right-handed punch Gohan, caught the punch, “Rocket Punch!” 16 shouted as his left fist that was coming for another punch separated from him and hit Gohan in the stomach sending him flying backwards.

  16 then flew after Gohan and collected his hand and connected it back to him, as he tried grabbing Gohan, who vanished and appeared behind 16 and kicked him in the back sending him flying forward, into the ground where he flipped around and nded on his feet looking at Gohan.

  “Wow that’s so cool, I didn’t know you could do that.” Gohan said with a smile.

  “Yes, I am 100% android unlike 17 & 18.” 16 said

  “… wait they aren’t 100% android?” Gohan asked looking confused.

  “No, they are actually cyborgs, but let’s continue this conversation ter.” 16 said looking at Gohan.

  “Ok.” Gohan said as he nodded his head before powering up and unching himself at 16 and started punching and kicking 16 who struggled to block the attacks as they nded. Gohan started nding more hits on 16 before he punched 16 in the stomach sending him into the air where Gohan then appeared above him and then knocked him back down into the ground, making a crater where he nded. “Are you ok?” Gohan asked as he looked up from above.

  “Yes, I am fine. That should be enough Gohan, I’ve gotten enough information.” 16 said as he got up and walked out of the crater as he dusted himself off. “Your power is enormous; it far surpasses all my records of you in my system. I believe that you will py an important role in deciding the ending of the Cell Games. If you don’t hold back against Cell like you did with me.” 16 said looking at Gohan, with a smile.

  “I didn’t want to hurt you.” Gohan said looking at 16.

  “It is fine, I know you are a kind person, just like me.” 16 said with a smile.

  “… are you sure about what you said, I don’t think I’m that strong, my dad is so much stronger than me.” Gohan said looking at 16.

  “… let’s head back Bulma will be worried if we take to long.” 16 said as he flew back towards Capsule Corp.

  “I wonder if he made a mistake, well he hasn’t met my dad yet if he meets him, he will see that my dad is stronger... if he doesn’t try and kill my dad first.” Gohan thought to himself before he flew after 16.

  They arrived back at Capsule Corp where Bulma was waiting for them, “How did everything go?” Bulma asked looking at them.

  “Very well thanks to you I am fully operational.” 16 said looking at Bulma.

  “That’s very good, hey why don’t you stay for dinner and spend the night while you are at it, I’ll call your mom to let her know.” Bulma said looking at Gohan. “I’ll come find you once dinner is ready ok Gohan.” Bulma said looking at him.

  “Ok, sure thank you.” Gohan said, “Do you want to go see the animals in the atrium?” Gohan asked looking at 16.

  “… yes, that would be nice.” 16 said with a smile.

  “Ok, lets go.” Gohan said as led 16 to the atrium, where there were dinosaurs, cats, dogs, and a lot of other animals inside. “This is one of my favorite pces here, it’s so peaceful.”

  “Yes, it is very nice.” 16 said as he looked around with a smile on his face.

  Gohan and 16 spent the rest of the time feeding and sitting with the animals as they sat in silence. “Hey, guy’s dinner is ready.” Bulma said calling out to them, as she walked into the atrium.

  “You go on ahead Gohan; I don’t need to eat, and I wish to remain here with the animals.” 16 said as he was surrounded by animals.

  “Ok I’ll see you tomorrow then.” Gohan said waving to 16, who smiled back.

  “Wow look at him he seems so happy.” Bulma said looking at 16. Before leading Gohan to the dining room. “Gohan your mom said that you can stay here as long as you want, but you must keep up with your studies.”

  “Wow, mom has never been allowed me to stay away from home for so long I wonder what’s going on with her.” Gohan said looking at Bulma, as they reached the dining room where Trunks, Dr. Briefs and Panchy were waiting for them.

  “She probably wants to spend as much time with your dad as she can.” Bulma said looking at Gohan as they sat down at the table. “I wouldn’t worry about it to much now let’s eat.”

  “Ok, you are right.” Gohan said as they all started eating, they all ate until they were full, and Gohan talked to Bulma and the others about what happened with 16. Then they all went to bed, where Gohan spent the night in one of the spare bedrooms that had two beds, where he talked with Trunks te into the night before they both fell asleep.

  Gohan spent the remining days leading up to the Cell Games, studying with the help of Bulma and Dr. Briefs, with 16 feeding the animals in the atrium, sparring with Trunks at Capsule Corp, or on the lookout sparring with Piccolo. Gohan and the others hadn’t seen Vegeta again since he came out of the Chamber, no one knew where he was, but they knew he would be at the Cell Games.

  (AN: This chapter was inspired by Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, I think 16 would be able to determine how strong Gohan is after a few attacks, he was able to see how strong Vegeta, and Trunks were when they fought Semi-Perfect and then Perfect Cell. This would allow him to get a good estimate of Gohan’s strength after a few punches. I didn’t want to drag out what Gohan did in the st days leading up to the Cell Games, study, train, rest, and repeat.)
