When a golden meteorite fell from the sky and split up the lands into thousands of islands, the era of man was surely thought to be over, squashed like bugs under a shoe. But like a cockroach, humans found a way to survive, to thrive. The meteorite mutated the creatures that dwell in the seas, making travel between the few islands where humans managed to establish colonies impossible. That was until a certain company invented the Skytrees, making travel by airship not only possible but economical. But this did not unite humanity, predictably, this only caused more division and war. War over the few farmable lands drifting admits the large ocean. And if there was one thing the meteorite did help with it would be war. Because after it fell, a lucky few people started being born with special powers. Ichor ran through their veins, and these warriors bled gold. Their blood could summon tornados or even revive fallen soldiers. Nations, centered around these individuals, quickly rose up and crumbled within the span of only a few hundred years. But pirates and mercenaries remained a constant. As did the BLIMP company. While most islands changed rulers many a time, there is only a single piece of land left rumored to have never been conquered, the land where that golden meteorite fell all those years ago. And although many have tried, today, nobody wears the crown of the fallen star.
