Chapter 68: Mysterious Chains and Kraken

  ( Jason )

After learning about a certain memory in the Angler’s mind, I stopped healing both him and Dunken and made us swim towards the location. Along the way, I picked a good number of aquatic infected who were a little weaker than an Alpha. Basically at the level of Asura before he left. For Alphas themselves, I came across a few who soon joined my Horde ‘willingly’.

One thing I’m noticing is how much more powerful the underwater infected are in comparison to their nd counterparts. Definitely need to find a way so they can come ashore without dying. Shouldn’t be too hard, but I’ll wait until Nox has grown a lot stronger. Then I'll be a generous Master and promote him to King of the Seas!

Back to the current journey, we had eventually arrived after swimming down further into the depths. Here, even my vision was starting to fail slightly due to the sheer darkness surrounding us. For the st ten or so minutes, we hadn’t run into even a single piece of pnkton. It’s as if all life just disappeared. But I didn’t care for any of that and only looked ahead.

“The fuck are those?” Ahead of me in a deep and wide pit, were chains. When getting closer, I noticed that not only were they extremely rge, but there were odd markings carved into them.

The carving depicted a whole bunch of things in a nguage I couldn’t understand. Didn’t even look simir to anything found here on this pnet. In fact, even my memories of The Alliance were stumped on this. Luckily, there were pictures for little morons like me to understand. They showed humans and some kind of other lizard race kneeling before… nothing. There was actually nothing there, just a bnk space.

Going down the chains, I was starting to piece together this wild puzzle. For some reason, a massive war had erupted between the lizard people and the humans. Except, one thing had changed. Above the lizards was that same empty space, but the humans seemingly had some new God or something. Behind them and shining magically, was a single majestic eyeball watching over them.

“What the fuck is this Warhammer 40k shit? Will Sanesh pop up soon and fuck me? Well... that wouldn't be the worse thing in the world.” I muttered to myself as I watched the Eye of God shoot a beam of light out and strike the empty space. Suddenly, the entire battlefield in the chains became fucking wacky.

A whole bunch of other shit came down from the heavens and struck down the empty space. Tentacle monster, an ‘angel’ like being, a giant creature that had a literal moon for a head, and a couple other weird looking things. Obviously, things didn’t go so well for the lizards. The chains soon depicted them being cast down from the surface and into the underground… cave? I don’t know, some sort of strange area.

As for the empty space, all of the other beings or Gods or whatever they are, imprisoned the empty space to… here. I looked over to my left, where the empty space would have been. But then I sighed in relief when seeing the broken part of the chains. Seems this guy busted out of here a while ago. Good for him on making his getaway! However, if I’m correct, the size of this empty space creature would have been pretty big. Like, the size of Mt. Everest at the minimum? Little above my pay grade I'd say.

As curious as I was to find out the truth about this whole matter, I couldn’t. In a couple mile radius around the chains, there weren’t any more clues to be found. Since that was the case, I grabbed my Horde and left to find the octopus. The bastard was actually pretty close by and I’ve been excited to kill and eat this shithead. But I’ll definitely return to this pce one day, to see if I can find out anything more.

Along the way to meet this Kraken wannabe, we didn’t run into very many things. However, the ones we did were mainly Alphas or at the least close to their level. Without exception though, each joined the Horde willingly or otherwise. Of course, I made sure to fill my belly with a few if them to improve my strength even further. By the time we arrived at the octopus’s location, it was safe to say I was a little confident in myself.

What was in front of me currently was an absolutely ginormous cave, clearly not a natural formation. Surrounding it and the open waters were hundreds of thousands of aquatic infected. They outnumbered us by a good fucking amount, but it wasn’t a problem since the quality of our forces were higher. Well, it’s not like we’re going to fight. Before I could think about that any longer, a deep and rumbling growl came from the cave.

“Oh? It seems my prey has finally noticed me. Took you long enough.” There was no concern within me as I waited there. I even casually began directing my forces on what was about to happen after I sughter this little piggy.

Within no time at all, the cave rumbled like it was about to colpse as the creature inside started to come out to py. The first thing I noticed was the tentacle, very big and positively chock full of weapons. Bdes, knives, spikes, anything one could dream of. But based on this tentacle’s size, along with the few others now making an appearance, this guy might be a bit bigger than I thought.

And when his full body exited the cave and graced us with his presence, I admit I might have underestimated him. Truly, he deserved to be called a Kraken. Unlike in my memories, the monster in front of me has a few changes. Besides the obvious and new 210 meter length, the amount of weapons it sported were increased dramatically. Every single tentacle was stuffed with them, just like the first one. The mouth could be clearly seen underneath of it, looking quite menacing as it snapped. I’m not sure what else it has as there was nothing to see from the surface.

The eyes which stared at me had a crazy amount of intelligence in them. A scary amount actually. Unblinking as the bastard-

“I have sensed you for so long…” Interrupting my inner dialogue? That calls for a reckoning.

But I must say this, the guy’s badass voice and telepathy is really making it hard for me to kill him. I’d be lying if I said he didn’t sound and look really cool. Seems he wasn’t finished though as he spoke in my mind again.

“Ever since that moment when you peered into my subordinate's memories, I have known of you. What are you? To grow so fast that you are now on level with me? And why…” He paused for a brief instant, his eyes narrowing.

“Do I feel the need to bow?” I couldn’t help but smirk as I crossed my arms.

“It’s only natural. You’re not the only who feels like that. In fact-“ I gestured with my eyes towards his underlings, all 350,000 of them. He turned his attention away from me and watched with shock as I forcibly took them under my command effortlessly. Without hesitation, each one turned at him and exhibited hostility. Damn, must suck to be betrayed like that. Tsk tsk, I almost feel bad.

“How?” He asked incredibly, attention back to me as he backed up slightly. Didn’t matter since he was blocked on all sides. As for his question, I decided to humor him.

“Because every infected in this world is mine, they just don’t know it yet until we meet. Did you not sense it yourself? The feeling that they served another besides you?” It seemed as if he was contempting my words, finding truth to them. Well, it was true.

Every infected besides the Alphas already served me, I just don’t have the power to call upon them all yet. Haven’t really explored everything I could do as I’ve been a bit busy with trying to create my Chosen. But with every passing day, my reach grows more and more. Within time, every infected in this world will be able to hear my call and come running to bend the knee. And if any refuse, they’ll die and feed the Horde to grow even stronger.

Take Nuke Isle City for example. By my calcutions based on my reach, every infected will be under my control within a week. That’s just me being passive as well. When I perfect my ability to make Chosen, I will begin to seriously take this world under my control. I doubt the humans will st long, hiding like rats as my Horde scours the pnet for them.

However, all of that was in the future. More specifically, probably a couple weeks to two months. Then I had to prepare for arrival of The Alliance or escape and start anew somewhere else. For now though, I focused on the octopus in front of me. He was still in the midst of thought, before suddenly speaking again.

“I understand. Submitting to you is the only rational choice. I can sense how strong you have become and know I might not win. Besides, you are not alone.” He bowed his head. Well, as much as a mutated infected octopus could I guess.

“Master.” This is a conundrum. I came here today to kill him, eat his corpse like a Japanese mukbanger, and pat myself on the back for a job well done. And consuming him would’ve given me massive power boost. But… I kinda like him.

Not only is he smart enough to understand the situation and made the correct choice which saved his life, he’s also sincerely surrendering to me. When my Domination Aura slipped inside him, it was met with zero resistance whatsoever. Besides, the guy looks so badass and cool. Then there’s the abilities he possess which is something I’ve never seen before except comics. Actual, bonafide, psychic powers.

Of course there’s the obvious telepathy and mind control, he also has telekinesis. Using solely his mind, he can lift objects into the air without ever touching them and throw them at the enemy. There is a weight limit, but that increases every time he grows in power. And after digging around a little more, this psychic shit turned out to be his main powers. The other stuff on the outside like the tentacle weapons, we’re mainly for appearances and throwing the enemy off. Well, that’s not completely true as they could be used in battle.

But back to his main powers, there is a variety of ways in which he can use them. Through his expnation, he can create invisible weapons unseen by the naked eye. Using them, he can attack the mind of his enemy and go straight through their physical defense.

“What the fuck is this sci-fi magical shit? Aliens I can understand given how rge the universe is. But this? I was joking about Warhammer 40k before...” I asked myself this, my reality crumbling around me at how nonsense his powers were. However, why wallow in it when I can simply accept it? Which is exactly what I did.

“Okay. Whatever. Kraken, you’ll be following me up to the surface and beyond. The rest of you will meet up with Nox and come under his command. I’ll point the way so you know who to find.” I gave my orders as the newly named Kraken raised a question.

“Kraken? But my name is-“ I raised a hand and stopped him.

“Don’t give a fuck. Mine fits better so it’s what we’ll go with. Now let’s get moving.” His face became a bit sad as he followed after me and the aquatic Horde. Huh. Seeing him like that makes me feel a little bad. But it’s for his own good! A fantastic name like the Kraken has a spectacur charm to it. One which will frighten our enemies!

“Master, by the way, how am I meant to go to the surface? I can only breathe underwater.” Hearing him, my nose didn’t rise up to the heavens themselves. Nor did my chest puff out in arrogance and smugness.

“That’s the benefit in becoming mine. I can easily evolve your body so it can thrive on nd. Don’t worry, it won’t hurt at all.” He seemed to be relieved as he continued following after me as we swam upwards. Though, I did mutter something under my breath.

  “I think at least…”

“Hm? Did you say something Master?” I waved my hand nonchantly.

“Just muttering to myself about how I have to find some more things to consume. Since I had pnned to eat you after all, I need some repcements.” He came to an understanding and said something super fucking interesting.

“Is that so? Well, I do know where a couple strong ones are. They aren’t too much worse than myself.”

Ah, not even ten minutes under my control and he’s already doing such a diligent job. Seems I got myself a decent minion.

After a couple hours had passed, night had arrived once more upon this side of the world. A strange silence washed over the bckened and almost lifeless city, a sense of peacefulness about it. However, that was soon repced with the horrific roars of Night Hunters as they began prowling for their next prey. It didn’t take long for screams to erupt within the city, most of them inhuman. The previous occupants were mostly in hiding, barely any of them left without any hope of survival. However, rumors had begun spreading about the Reaper safe houses and how they were accepting everyone.

Near the water leading into the ocean, a sudden shadow could be seen on the surface. It grew rger and rger extremely quickly, swimming upwards at a speed unheard of. Suddenly, the shadow broke through the water and soared through the air. They nded on a deserted beach, shaking their head and flinging water everywhere.

“Finally back on nd.” Jason said, letting his gills vanish and his skin return to normal. His form had changed a bit, becoming both rger and more muscur. He had stopped his height at an even 30ft. His time in the water had been quite productive.

'I should let the sisters in about my new height and... package.' During his feeding frenzy down under, Jason had completely forgot about stopping his growth in both height and penis size.

Suddenly, he turned towards the water and yelled aloud.

“Come on! Hurry it up!” Waiting impatiently, he watched as Kraken hesitantly came out of the water and slithered to nd.

“Forgive me for not trusting you Master.” He said via telepathy, relief in his voice. Hearing him, Jason frowned and snorted with an unpleasant expression. He didn’t like Kraken’s ck of faith in him regarding transforming his body.

“Tch, whatever. Let’s get going.” Jason started walking in the direction of the Orion Facility. Along the way, he made sure to extend his Domination Aura to it’s maximum range. In doing so, every nearby infected, whether common or special, came out and started forming a horde behind him.

As for Kraken, his rge size meant he had no choice but to carve a path of destruction through the city. Any building in his way was immediately crushed into pieces. Suddenly, he heard his Master speak up.

“Now, I’ll tell you what your objective is. You’ll be taking these guys behind us-“ He pointed towards the ever growing mini horde.

“-and march across the nd. I want you to begin burning this country to the ground. Start by heading to Washington D.C. and setting up a breeding camp for the humans.”

“So I take it that means I should keep any I find alive?” Jason nodded his head, amused as two Night Hunters who fought against one another paused their battle and joined with him. Yet they never stopped gring at each other.

“Yup. We’ll also let any healthy animals breed there as well.” Kraken seemed a bit concerned as he used a tentacle to scratch his head.

“I… don’t know where this Washington pce is. And also, am I meant to do this alone?”

“No, I’ll be sending some others to help you conquer the continent. While Nox is rallying the seas, as best as my puppy whale can, we’ll take the nd. Got it? Any questions?”

“Well… why am I on nd? Wouldn’t I be more productive in the ocean since I’m so familiar with it? Besides, I’ve never fought on nd before.” As he said that, Jason gnced at him and noticed how he was having a hard time moving.

“You will eventually go back into the seas. But for now, I want you to get used to walking and fighting on nd. We’re not gonna be here forever and will go somewhere with no water whatsoever. You'll be fighting in even worst conditions than this soon enough." Kraken was confused and tried asking what he meant, but Jason didn’t answer. Instead, he changed the topic to something else as they walked.

By the time they reached the Facility, a massive Horde of over 50,000 infected were gathered up. Jason pointed in a direction with his finger and began directing Kraken to Washington. Once he finished and they were about to split up, a wild Athena appeared out of nowhere.

“What are you doing here Athena?” She grinned at him, gncing at Kraken with excitement. It was clear just how much she wanted to fight him.

“I sensed the two of you arrive and came to see you. Hm…” She came up to Jason, eyeing him up and down while nodding her head.

“You became much stronger in such a short time. I’m a little envious. But!” She turned towards Kraken, cracking her knuckles menacingly.

“I see you’ve got a new minion. Mind if I test out his strength?” Jason shook his head and waved his hand.

“No. Go ahead and leave Kraken.” The octopus nodded gratefully and left. He was gd to leave this sudden maniac. Looking back, he saw the so-called Athena gre at his Master and start arguing with him. When he saw how fearless Jason was, he gained respect towards him as he could sense how strong she was.

‘Very powerful. I might have a 50% chance of winning. Unless I catch her by surprise with my psychic abilities.' Although he thought this, he wasn’t too shocked at her strength. He had seen two infected in the waters which scared him shitless. And she, was not capable of that.

As Kraken began his warpath in destroying America, Athena gred fiercely at Jason. A growl came from her throat as she spoke.

“And why the fuck did you do that?”

“Because he has shit to do and I don’t want him to waste time here. We are on a schedule after all.” Athena was confused at his words, but her rage crushed any question she had pertaining to that.

“You know, I don’t very much like your tone.” She stepped closer to him, unable to look down on him since his height rivaled her own.

  'I need to change that...'

“Is that so? Oh dear!” Jason patted his chest and sighed in relief. He mockingly wiped the ‘sweat’ from his forehead.

“Phew, that was close! How careless of me! Almost gave a single fuck!” Athena was a little shocked, but soon chuckled. However, that evolved into her wildly ughing.

“Okay then.” Stopping, she had a kind smile to her face which stunned Jason for a moment. He had no idea she could do such a thing.

Suddenly, she punched him across the face so hard a loud crack resounded out. Jason flew far away, crashing through several buildings before stopping. Getting to his feet, he shook his head and gred at the cocky Athena who now had a grin.

“Alright you son of a bitch! You want it?! Come and get it!” He ran straight for her, eager to test his new power against her. Athena did the same, ready to teach him some manners about respecting an older sister like herself.
