In the remote jungles of 1920s British India, a strange and unearthly event shakes the foundations of the world. A child, no larger than an infant, crashes from the heavens, a small humanoid alien stranded on a hostile planet. His arrival is violent, leaving a deep crater in the earth, but his true nature is not immediately clear to the villagers who find him—a fragile and vulnerable being, abandoned with no explanation.
