Chapter 26: Who knew a female slave could be this troublesome

“Why the fuck didn't you inform me about such an important matter you fucking joke of an advisor!?”

A middle-aged man with a bit of extra weight said while looking at an opposing man who looked a bit younger than him. Hearing his screaming calmly, the opposing man spoke.

“Sir Blackgilt, with all due respect, please cal-.”

Before he could finish though, he was suddenly interrupted.

“Shut the fuck up when your senior is speaking, will you!? You should be ashamed of yourself for not warning me about such a matter beforehand! Do you have any idea how much I am going to lose because of you!? The only reason you are not fired yet is only because I am in good relation with your father and no other reason! Do you understand!?”

Understand the severity of the situation and the fact that speaking or even defending himself was pointless the man nodded apologetically and spoke full of regret.

“I am extremely sorry for my lack of understanding and not including such a matter in my judgement. I understand your frustration and I am willing to do everything in my power to gain your forgiveness sir.”

Hearing his advisors words, the man called Blackgilt seemed pleased with the response but didn't stop raising his voice.

“As you should be! Seriously, how could you not inform me of something that important!?”

Raising his head, his advisor spoke with full respect and formality.

“Forgive me sir, but I could never imagine that buying her could cause such a serious negative impact in your business. I am extremely sorry for realizing such an important matter this early.”

“Well, now it's too late isn't it!? So tell me my so-called advisor, what do you advise that I do now that my business has suffered such a serious damage!?”

Taking a moment as if to think, the advisor remained silent for a bit before speaking.

“I understand the situation you are in because of me and I am sorry but my only proposition after taking in mind our current route, is selling her in our next destination no matter the cost. The loss will be huge but that will ensure your success in the next destination. It might not be the best way to solve this problem but it will guarantee a future success.”

Putting his hand on his temple, Blackgilt took on a troubled expression and after a bit of thinking spoke.

“You told me in the beginning that I could sell her at least the price of 10 male beast men before we bought her from those guys. Now you are saying to sell her even less than one? Not only that, but selling her might not even be guaranteed in our next destination no matter how much we lower the price!

  Stolen story; please report.

You and I both saw how much everyone avoided my shop because of her. So do you think anyone will even agree to buy the person who is responsible for all this ominous aura!?”

Hearing his thoughts, the advisor seemed troubled but despite the risk and the understanding that it would be upsetting to hear, he spoke again.

“You are right sir. Selling her will be troublesome despite lowering the price. So if we fail, getting rid of her might be the only option available.

It was my fault that I didn't take into account the obvious effect that her aura might cause to potential buyers and the faulty idea of selling her to the capital as a potential high rank mage took the best of me. So unless we reroute straight to the capital, eliminating her as soon as possible might be our only option.

I am sorry to have caused all this trouble and I am taking full responsibility for my actions.”

“How troublesome. Rerouting to the capital? That won't happen! It's not beneficial at all! As much as I dislike the idea of killing one of my potential products, I guess I have no choice but to kill her if I don't manage to sell her at our next stop. Just how fucking disappointing! And it's all your fault.”

Blackgilt accused his accountant once again in the small carriage in which they were sitting, begging another round of insults and apologies.

The carriage thought didn't stop despite the sounds of the arguments and so did the others who followed in the middle of the night. Slowly but surely, they all moved forward in the midst of the night.

Meanwhile, in one of the carriages not far behind from the first, in a cage sat a girl with yellowish eyes, now completely separated from the rest of the other slaves. She didn't seem bothered with that change though and didn't seem to mind it.

She sat soundly on the cold wooden floor with glowing shackles in both her arms which perfectly fitted her delicate skin. That also didn't bother her, since at this point she seemed very familiar with it.

What bothered her though was the some subtle sound which could be heard from the surrounding dark forest, sometimes representing laughter and other times screaming. The sound sometimes got loud and sometimes got quiet, sending shivers to the people who were accompanying the carriage and reminding them to keep their guard always ready for the unexpected.

The girl though didn't seem to react to the sounds on the outside but if someone watched her just enough, he could notice that her light shivers and even hear her gritting her teeth in anger.

‘This situation. This lack of freedom. I can't stand it. If only it wasn't for these chains, I would show you. I would show every single one of you!’

Her thoughts seemed visible if someone saw her face, yet it didn't seem to be directed to the people that enslaved her, but someone else, or perhaps something else.

Still, she was smart enough to not focus all her attention on the things that anger her, and she also knew about her situation. Her life might come to an end and she knew the risk was high, yet it wasn't like she could do anything.

‘This time, I need to suppress myself. I have to. I can't afford to die just like that. Without doing anything. Without accomplishing anything at all. I need to play it smart.’

A few big breaths could be heard coming from her mouth, before finally being able to relax.

‘I need to try my best. Avoiding being sold wasn't smart and now my life is at risk. I need to make up for this. For my mistake and ignorance. This time I have to get sold as crazy and disgusting as that might be. It's my only option and I would much rather prefer that, than dying. After all, here, only death awaits me.’
