It was a day just like all the others. I was at my house with my friends.

  "think you're ready for the test?" I spun around and stared at my best friend, Noah

  "WE HAVE A TEST?"

  He stared back in disbelief "um yeah, we had a week to study" I groan

  "Yeah no I'm gonna fail" He chucked

  "Don't you laugh at me!" I turn to my other friend who I swear was amused at my plight"Anna? Can I borrow your notes?"

  She looks up from her book "...Sure" I snapped back to Noah

  "See! that is a friend"

  "hey it's not my fault you never study" He smirked

  Noah smirk slowly turned into a frown

  "H-hey is it kinda hot in here?"

  "uh it's like 60 degrees" As i was about to roll my eyes, I noticed the abnormal heat emanating from him

  "You good?" He just stared at his hands not responding

  Then it happened the moment that changed everything.

  "Hey? I don't feel so good" Noah combusted into flames and let out a blood-curdling scream. The sudden force from the explosion threw me back.

  By the time I hit the floor half the room was on fire. I stared in disbelief at Noah. his screams of agony pinning me in place. I tore my attention away from him to Anna.

  Thankfully she was farther away but just as shocked as me. A mask of horror painted on her face.

  The whole room was on fire by this point and I shakily get up.

  "Noah?" He burst forth leaving a charred hole in the wall behind him. I threw up my arms. Noah crashed into me sending us crashing to the floor, I expected to be burned or at least feel the heat but I didn't. I peeked my eyes open and see him staring at me with a thin sheet of something see-through.

  Did I do that?

  I push that thought away and I see that he wasn't aiming for me anymore but at Anna.

  I panicked and Noah crashed int a thin translucent film of light surrounded Anna. The same one that saved me.

  What happened next was a blur, Noah froze and stared at me while he slowly burned away. I collapsed on the floor staring at where Noah just was.

  People streamed in and carried us out and I blacked out.

  I slipped in and out of conciseness. But when I was, I saw a couple of people. I saw Anna the most but Noah's parents were also there. But it looked like they were holding something back. Slowly I realized that Noah never showed up.

  Sometime later I kept my conscience and looked around, no one was there. The slowly steady beep confirmed I was still alive. Now and then I heard someone moving.

  "I'm still alive right?" God, it hurts to even talk.

  "Yeah welcome back, a lot has happened" A familiar face appeared in my view. It was Anna... but she aged a bit.

  "What happened?"
