Chapter 79: Ruina's Desperation.
Her mother was going to die, so Ruina couldn’t watch any longer. Forcefully, she returned her mind back to her body.
Typically, this takes a few minutes to do, as it requires Mana, and great concentration. Due to Ruina being in a hurry, she injured herself.
Ruina: “Status.” She weakly spoke.
:Status:
Name: Ruina.
Sex: Female.
Race: High Goddess.
Age: 4,784.
HP: 150,000/5,000,000.
MP: 2,500,000/2,500,000.
AGI: 1,956.
STR: 3,987.
DEX: 1,501.
INT: 19,951.
Hunger: 50,000/50,000.
True Level: 5,000.
Race Level: 1/10,000.
Current EXP: 0/10,000,000.
The price to pay for this rush was… pain. With her high HP Stat, 150,000 was practically 5 HP. Either way, Ruina spat up blood, and then she dragged her body, which was in pure agony, off her bed, making sure not to push Nemu down from it on accident.

Thud!
Xena: “What the hell? I thought some Higher Being tried to assassinate you…” She exclaimed in relief, running into the room, seeing Ruina on the floor, spitting up more blood.
There were no enemies around, so Xena just quickly healed Ruina up to full health. Now fine, the Will found it quite strange that Ruina was still uneasy.
Ruina: “Explaining will take too long… Just look into my memories, Xena. Do it, fast!” She demanded, bumping heads with her boss.
Xena: “…”
Even the softest method of reading someone’s memories was pretty invasive, as well as painful. But seeing Ruina so serious… Xena didn’t delay any longer. It took her only a second to parse these memories, given her position and Status.
Xena: “Ruina, if Celia survives this… no, even if she doesn’t. We need to go back and find any bugs we’ve missed.” She replied with a groan.
Contacting Runey was quite the hassle, and, after gaining a personality, one that she stuck with, the System Controller had become uppity. Thinking about how annoying it’d be to just convince Runey to redo some of her work… left Xena with a throbbing migraine.
Ruina: “Huh?! Xena, you need to go save Celia! I, with the power I have, meager in comparison to yours, will kill you if you do not!!!” She angrily shouted, taking out a sword, prepared to fight for her dear mother’s life.
Xena: “…”
In horror, Ruina witnessed how her boss was completely unmoved, not even looking slightly threatened or worried. This confused Ruina, as she was sure that Xena had some level of affection for Celia and her family.
Xena: “Go on, return to Celia’s side.” She suggested.
Ruina: “To watch her die a horrid death? I’d rather fight you until I die, regardless of how meaningless such an act would be!” She scoffed in reply.
Xena: “Ruina, just try it.” She urged once more.
Ruina: “…”
Angry, Ruina attempted a return to Celia’s side. This failed, no matter how many times she tried. Yes, the reason she got so wounded… wasn’t just Ruina did the improper conscious transfer method.
Xena: “Xena’s Nightmare, as its name implies… is a depiction of my greatest fears, doubts, failures, etc. It has placed Celia in a closed off dimension, one that not even I, nor anyone else, can invade. Maybe… Vulely could.” She explained with a solemn tone and expression.
Ruina: “…That… that would go against her promise.” She replied, shaking like a leaf, already deeply saddened.
Xena: “That it would. As such, we can only hope for a miracle…” She grimly added.
