Volume 8. Chapter 66: Taking On Something Normal. (Chapter 767.)

Chapter 66: Taking On Something Normal.

Feeling exhausted by her life, which was seemingly on the fast track, Celia was hesitating a bit. But that passed quickly.

With great hopes that, this time around, nothing absurd would happen, and she could focus on Leveling up, Celia took on an urgent monster extermination quest.

Maralia: “Ria, with me here, Lady Celia has no need of your services.” She said with her arms crossed, as they walked to the quest destination.

Celia: “…” “This is, like, the fifth version of this same argument they’ve had since we left Reri’s capital…” She thought with a defeated tone.

Ria: “Protection can be handled by you, Lady Maralia. For other tasks, such as tending to Celia’s needs… are for me to gracefully do.” She replied with a proud expression.

Sparks flew between the two, with Celia, once again confused about how this has somehow occurred twice in her life. “Truly, what even is there to fight over? Me? Impossible! Their personalities must just clash…” She said in her mind, confused, unaware of her value in their eyes.

Maralia, upon seeing Ria, was a bit upset. Somehow, Celia managed to meet a decent portion of her family in this new life of hers. Though they’re at each other’s throats right now, the Goddess did think that it was great that Celia’s luck was still shining brightly.

Maralia: “Lady Celia, Barboes are tricky monsters to deal with.” She abruptly spoke, ending her spat with Ria then and there.

Celia: “How so?” She replied with a raised eyebrow.

Ria: “Do you know what apes are, Lady Celia?” She asked with a serious tone.

Celia: “Somewhat… I’ve seen depictions of them in discarded children’s books. They kinda look like Humans, but are all furry, tall and bulky, right?” She answered with a thinking pose.

Ria and Maralia stopped their fight, as they were getting close to their hunt. A nest of Barboes showed up too close to civilization, endangering random people. At a minimum Level of 100, the average person couldn’t harm these monsters, let alone survive an attack by them. Which is why this quest was marked as urgent, and S Rank.

Maralia: “Your image of them is likely correct, yes. Though, despite their size, they’re quick and annoying to hunt down.” She said with a groan.

Celia: “Ah… well, hopefully you can teach me the proper way to kill them, Maralia.” She replied with a beaming expression.

Maralia: “…Of course!” She stuttered out, slightly stun-locked from Celia’s cuteness.

Maralia hadn’t been with Celia long, and would normally deny letting her go on this quest. But she felt responsible. You see, Maralia killed so many Barboes to Level up, causing the survivors to migrate close to villages and the like.

Ria: “Lady Celia, they like to throw… their excrement. So do please dodge whatever they toss at you. We can just use Cleaning Magic on you, but I figure that you wouldn’t want to get covered in… such material.” She lectured seriously.

  Celia: “( ’-’ ~)”
