Chapter 18: Unsure Of This Place...
Only now… did Celia and her family realize that this place was a trap. Everyone here used Qi, with no System user in sight.
Their names, despite clearly being residents of this Dimension, were Chinese, since all of them changed their names to be as such.
Guanyu: “People who have given up this Universe’s power system, for Cultivation…” She said with confliction.
Carma: “I think that might be the case, Guanyu. But we should wait for Celia to come back and give us a clear answer…” She added with a groan.
It took a few days of being here… to understand what they got themselves into. Escaping was impossible, Jeru was nowhere to be found, and there wasn’t a hint of education being conducted here in the least. At least, no free education.
Carma: “Celia, did you learn anything new?” She asked, seeing her sister return to their inn room.
Celia: “The people here say that… you must give up your System, learn the first Realm of Cultivation, and then be accepted into a Sect.” She mused, repeating knowledge that she gained from exploring the city, speaking to its residents.
Mena was still weak, so only one person left to investigate, while the others stayed behind to protect her. Outside of this city was a vast wilderness, though… dotted across various mountains were Cultivation Sects.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
Each had a similar barrier to the one that encompassed Veil, leaving Celia and her group unable to invade them.
Ria: “Escape is impossible…” She said with a grim tone.
Guanyu: “I can leave as I please, since I am a Cultivator.” She informed with pride.
Celia: “But… Guanyu, aren’t you still too weak? You couldn’t even detect that this place was full of other Cultivators…” She replied with a concerned tone and expression.
Guanyu: “I was searching for a powerful Cultivator, not weak ones. Lowering my requirements, I detect hundreds of thousands of Cultivators, of varying Cultivation Realms.” She clarified in reply.
Even the currency of this land was different. Celia had to convert all her Coins to Spirit Shards, which is how they were able to get a place to sleep.
With fifty-thousand Orichalcum Coins… Celia received just five hundred Spirit Shards. And a single night in this inn, which was very upscale, costing one Spirit Shard. This land was blatantly set up to force System users into Cultivation…
Celia: “Oh! Even still… my first point stands.” She sternly replied.
Guanyu: “I have a solution for that, Celia.” She replied with a giggle.
Alisa: “You do? Guanyu… You might be so weak… that Mena could kill you.” She spoke with a confident, but also concerned tone.
That wasn’t even close to accurate, but those here didn’t really want Guanyu to get hurt, let alone killed. The Cultivator was still deeply connected to Celia’s very Soul. So, if the woman got killed… it might have some lasting, extremely negative effects on their beloved.
Guanyu: “Here, you all take some of my Spirit Shards. Go rent another room, please. I kept them all this time… thankfully, they’ve finally found a use.” She ordered, handing Alisa a hefty bag, which was filled with over 10,000 Spirit Shards.
Ria: “Why would we need another room?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.
Guanyu: “Because Celia and I need privacy. Dual Cultivation… is practically sex, you see.” She nonchalantly answered.
Everyone: “(~OAO)”
