Chapter 23: Venturing Forth.
Celia still had her System, but was now part Cultivator. This wouldn’t be a forever upgrade, as only Veil had Qi on/in it.
Either way, as no one else could reach her Cultivation Realm while still having a System, the girl was more than capable of hiding this fact.
Guanyu: “Where do you want to go first, Celia?” She asked with a smile.
Celia: “Shouldn’t we go and figure out who is controlling this place?” She proposed with a thinking pose.
Guanyu: “Likely, it is the Yan Sect’s Leader. Regardless, they’ve kept to themselves on this floating island for hundreds of years.” She replied with an unworried expression.
Causing Qi to occur in this dimension… had taken a toll on the various Sect Leaders. Guanyu was certain that none of them would attempt to take over the mortal world so soon, needing a few thousand years just to recover at the minimum.
Celia: “Hm… then, what should we do?” She said with a head tilt.
Guanyu: “Why not go hunting? We still aren’t aware of the average Level of monsters here on Veil, after all.” She suggested in reply.
If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Celia: “Okay, that sounds good. I am looking forward to no longer being a Level 1 Goddess!” She agreed, excitement clear on her face and in her voice.
Later.
Guanyu and Celia: “…”
After a bit of searching, they learned the horrible truth. The monsters here were only Level 100 and under. Any higher Level monsters… lived on land held by those previously mentioned Sects.
For those not part of any Sect, the monsters that you were free to hunt… are more than enough, if not too much, for them to handle. Cultivation wasn’t increased with Exp or fighting, so there was truly no point in even killing a single monster.
Celia: “Why…do they keep monsters protected on their lands, obviously for private, Sect members only, hunting?” She asked with a thinking pose, confused to all hell.
Guanyu: “Resources from monsters can be useful in Cultivation, and dead beings help Spirit Shard mines flourish.” She answered confidently.
Guanyu didn’t expect the monsters of this dimension to have useful resources, which is why she suggested for Celia and her to go hunting.
With Celia’s Level and Evolution, Level 100 monsters just didn’t give enough Exp to bother with. And the girl would much prefer to instantly power Level her daughter, rather than let her gain Levels casually.
Guanyu: “We’ll have to get permission from one of the Sect, ask to hunt on their land.” She informed with an evil tone.
Celia: “Eh?… And why is that you’ve said this with… such an evil aura?” She asked with deep confusion.
Guanyu: “I have means to… convince either of the Sects to allow our entry. In truth, it’d be too easy.” She replied with a giggle.
Celia: “Too easy?” She repeated with another head tilt.
Guanyu: “So simple, as well as boring. So… the Yan Sect… will be our target, Celia!” She exclaimed before laughing maniacally.
Celia: “…”
