Chapter 22: As They Were Gone, It Was Time For Work.
Celia: “Ah, I just realized that you didn’t get your Spirit Shards back from them before they left…” She said, lightly slapping her forehead.
Guanyu: “It is fine, I have far more. Besides, Spirit Shards, even for those with a System, are good for your strength. Midas will surely have fun figuring out how to convert them into Exp.” She replied with a coaxing giggle, thankful that Celia thought so much of her.
Currently, the two were walking around the Academy, countless people gazing at them as they did so. But those looks lasted for just seconds, as Guanyu didn’t bother to hide her Realm at all.
Celia held her wife’s arm, looking quite coquettish, but her Realm wasn’t ordinary, either. So no one here deemed the mere thought of planning against these two… to be worth their potential deaths.
Guanyu: “Celia, did anyone mention the name of the Sects?” She asked with a curious tone.
Celia: “Yes, they did. Specifically, this town is controlled by the Yan sect. And there are four other ones, as well.” She answered in reply.
This conversation happened after they strolled to a restaurant. Having a wife, a Dao at that… was a special experience for Guanyu, so the Cultivator wished to show off her and Celia’s love for all to see.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Guanyu: “Yan?… A common name.” She mused with a thinking pose, tone shaken a bit.
Celia: “Is it? Anyway, the others are the Kang Sect, the Cao Sect, the hui Sect, and finally, the Jia Sect. Counting the Yan Sect, there are five Sects around.” She added, causally, excited to try some Chinese food.
Guanyu: “…Celia, the food is here. Let us enjoy.” She suggested with a forced smile.
Celia didn’t notice her wife’s discomfort, just excitedly gazing at the food which was brought to them. With gusto, Celia started eating, while Guanyu knew that they’ve stumbled onto a problem.
Guanyu: “Xena, all the Sects from my original world are here.” She informed with a serious tone in her mind, while eating food, not letting it show on her face.
Xena: “Are you certain of this? Perhaps the names are just… lucky occurrences?” She replied with an unsure tone.
Guanyu: “I am not mistaken, Xena. The Yan Sect being in power, the strongest ones… was the same there, as well. I haven’t met anyone that I knew from that time and world, as I killed all of them…” She Clarified with a sigh.
The moral Sects had sought Guanyu out, while she was mostly a recluse. As such, the Cultivator didn’t have any friends, and those she knew were enemies, which successfully murdered in self-defense.
Xena: “Was the Yan Sect responsible for your grievous injuries?” She asked with a shaky tone.
Guanyu: “No. The Sect who warred against me… I destroyed it prior to ending up in this world.” She denied with a prideful tone.
Xena: “…” “Dammit! I might have to beg Vulely for help.” She secretly thought, already dreading the task which was forced on her.
