Chapter 61: Time Is The Solution.

Ria: “Xena, how is it that you have no sway over Runey? If you break the System, prevent it from working… wouldn’t that lower her power, and be a good enough threat?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.

Xena: “I’ve used that method already, Runey still refused to reply.” She answered with a loud groan.

Her position was Will Of Existence, one which all should respect and follow the orders of. And yet… Runey had no such disposition in regards to Xena, despite working with her for countless years.

Celia: “Would she really be so rude? Perhaps she is in trouble…” She mused with a concerned tone.

Xena: “Her? Unlikely. Runey has a position close to mine, if not higher. And when it comes to who benefits more from the System being used in my domains… it’d be us, not Runey.” She clarified awkwardly.

Maralia: “I think that there is some merit to Celia’s words. Xena, how long has she been ghosting you?” She said with a thinking pose.

Xena: “…Over 1,000 years, if I recall correctly.” She answered with a small pout.

Runey wasn’t keeping up her end of the deal, with this reinforcement being planned long ago. Xena knew that Runey was cheeky… but she was starting to feel that Celia might be correct, considering how long Runey had been unreachable.

Xena: “It is quite the task… but I guess that I have to go and figure out the truth. If she just told me to fuck off each time… I wouldn’t bother to travel all the way to her Universe and Existence.” She finally decided, already regretting this decision.

Celia: “Is it that hard to travel Existences?” She asked with a curious tone.

Xena: “Wills of Existences are… quite annoying, at even the best of times. Most aren’t as sane and fair as I am, yet I must negotiate with the Will of Runey’s Universe/Existence.” She replied, lazily playing with Celia’s hair to ease her tensions.

  Slap!

Xena: “Ow!” She exclaimed, faking pain.

  Celia and the Others: “…”

Xena: “It was just a joke! Even then… why slap my hand so hard?” She asked, actually upset, directing these words and mood to Celia’s family.

Vulely: “It wasn’t them, fool. Don’t get carried away! A single intimate moment with Celia… might turn you into a yandere, who will ruin her life.” She lectured sternly, completely confident of her crazy words.

  Xena: “…”

Dragged by the ear, Xena was taken away. Vulely disliked how impulsive her successor just was, so she needed to scold Xena properly.

After that, she planned on going with Xena to find Runey, and then figure out why the Original System was being so absent. Runey mentioned Celia being interesting to watch, but she hadn’t shown up to be entertained this entire time. This should have been a blatant red flag, which Xena somehow managed to miss entirely.

Celia: “So… do you all want to go see the Dungeon boss?” She deadpanly suggested.
