Volume 9. Chapter 27: She Didnt Know What She Was Expecting... (Chapter 828.)

Chapter 27: She Didn't Know What She Was Expecting...

Mena: “…What is Celia doing?!” She yelled in pure horror.

Carma: “Likely… hunting monsters, I guess?” She deadpanly answered.

Mein: “…” “I only recently became a God, and now I’m a High God. Would it be wrong of a Higher Being to… become a peace-loving hermit?” He thought with pure defeat.

Mena’s suffering was… the memories of it were erased, as the Wraith didn’t want them. But now she was a Wraith Goddess, with no effort on her part, and Celia was only making her stronger.

She had reached 1,000, the max for her race, similar to Humans, within minutes after Celia started hunting, and then Evolved within an hour.

Mena: “Ria, Zia, Xena! Someone please stop Celia before I go insane…” She pleaded with a broken tone.

Xena: “Me? There is no point. Celia keeps doing absurd things, regardless of my attempts to stop her.” She denied with a yawn, appearing in the room.

Vulely: “I truly wish the narrator wasn’t so stingy, and would explain why stuff like this happens to Celia.” She added with a sigh, appearing as well. I won’t. Be patient, me!

Typically, the Emperor wasn’t involved in talks like this. It wasn’t due to Carma not liking her father, but entirely because the man, now a High God, couldn’t stomach the insanity bringing words.

Mein: “…Who are you two… Ah, I’m too old for this.” He was about to ask, before giving up, standing from his seat, about to leave the room.

Xena: “Mein, your position in this world is very pointless.” She said, stopping the Emperor cold in his tracks.

Mein: “Do you mean to… just insult me?” He replied with a somewhat angry expression.

Xena: “Rather than something worthless like that, I need you to watch over a different Dimension. It is in need of a ruler, one which is balanced and fair.” She clarified, offering a job.

Mein: “And… who are you to reward me with such a grand position?” He asked in reply, with a raised eyebrow.

Xena: “I am the Will of Existence, which oversees all Universes.” She nonchalantly answered.

  Mein: “( ? _ ? )”

  Later.

With Veil being a fraud these days, Carma didn’t need to attend it. As such, Mein quickly took Xena’s offer, leaving the Empire to his oldest daughter.

Celia’s life was just too fast for the man to handle, so this job was impossible to refuse a chance at. And despite being a High God, Mein was growing gray hair, the stress from Celia obvious.

Alisa: “This might be the easiest transfer of power for an Empire in this world’s history.” She mused with a laugh.

Carma: “Will your mother do the same?” She said with a curious tone.

Alisa: “It would depend on… if Xena has another job open.” She replied in an unsure tone.

Xena: “I don’t, sorry. But I might in the future.” She denied instantly.

Mena: “…” “I am realizing that my second life won’t be calm as I hoped, and here my family is, talking about business…” She expressed in her mind, now completely deadpan, and broken.
