Volume 9. Chapter 34: Hell Rising. (Chapter 835.)

  Chapter 34: Hell Rising.

  Larn: “…”

Spitting out blood, the Elven Queen was worn out. Her flesh was marred with various gashes, yet her beauty shone through, even while covered in blood.

Before leaving, Amei warned Larn about this… thing, that wanted to be birthed into the world. At first, it merely kept to one section, a relatively small area of their land.

But, in the night, the being would whisper in the Elfs’ ears, luring them to it. Once tricked, it’d consume the victims.

Elven Knight: “Queen Larn… we can’t keep up with this any longer.” She said with a grim tone, using Healing Magic on her queen, as Larn used hers all up.

Larn: “Besides this… what else is there to do, hm?” She weakly refuted.

The victims, some being Human, but mostly other Elves, were covered in the weird flesh of the unknown being. This thoroughly enhanced their strength, whilst also controlling these women.

Larn, and the few knights brave enough to fight alongside her, came every two months, and fought against the victims. The being had no other means of movement; its self stopped spreading already.

Larn: “No… Ien must successfully gain the help of those Higher Beings in Felta and Reri. Even if she has to sell her body to do so. I am willing to do exchange that, as well.” She continued, now leaving the site, drained to an extreme.

  The Elven Knights: “…”

But this didn’t mean Larn could leave it alone. Rather, the being clearly wished to acquire more puppets, spread itself through people. To ensure this didn’t happen, the queen had to grievously injure the victims, forcing the being to go dormant for at most… two months. Once those days were up, the women would be healed, and ready to fight/gather more victims.

Elven Knight: “What of Amei?” She asked as they walked, supporting Larn via her shoulder.

Larn: “Her? That woman was unable to think, obsessed with Empress Rien for so long… If Rien doesn’t agree, it is unlikely for Amei to plead for someone to assist us.” She denied with a groan.

Frankly, Larn’s image of Amei had deteriorated greatly since the previous queen married Rien. Her visits to her homeland, which she ruled, only diminished. All ending when Larn jokingly suggested that she should become queen, so that Amei could focus on her wife.

In a daze, Larn helplessly watched as Amei speedily went through all the needed procedures, announcing Larn as queen, and Ien as the princess, before leaving just as fast.

Larn was merely over Level 600, while Amei was already well into her 800s, in secret. And, as if the being could tell… once Amei stopped showing up, it started its growth in full, with Larn not able to ever truly kill it.

Larn: “Truly, love makes one foolish.” She mused with a lamenting laugh.

Maid: “Q-Queen Larn!” She exclaimed, rushing over to this spot, which was still a distance away from their city, and the castle.

Larn: “Hm? A palace maid… What is it that you need of me? Running until you’re out of energy like this…” She asked in reply, eyebrow raised.

Maid: “F-five Higher Beings are waiting for you in the castle!!!” She answered, almost entirely running out of breath again after doing so.

  Larn: “…”
