Chapter 76: A Deal Too Good To Pass Up!
Runey and Xena did work together to create the new System, but all the other Wills accepted it into their domains as well.
None of them blamed Xena for there being an oversight in it. In fact… the new System gives those Wills so much free time.
Shut!
Xena: “Great! That was the last hole.” She said with a relieved tone and expression.
With this done, Xena’s title was no longer meaningless. She had struck a deal with the other Wills, that, if Xena fixed the problem, even temporarily, then she would get control of every other Universe and Dimension.
It was far more responsibilities added to her plate… but Xena did slip features into the System’s design, specifically to ease her workload. Of course, she made sure to not let all of those features be activated for the other Wills.
Woosh!
Runey: “Hm? You’re already done?” She asked with a curious tone.
Xena: “I don’t detect anymore leaks, or those weird beings… So we seemed to have finished our jobs at the same time.” She mused with a thinking pose.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
Runey: “Finished? I doubt that…” She replied with a long sigh.
Xena: “How come? I do not sense another one of those beings.” She replied with a head tilt.
Runey: “There aren’t any left that are going after the leaks, as you’ve closed them all off. However, I think that there are surely more of them left alive.” She answered with a serious tone.
When asked about those “Mana suckers,” the other Wills weren’t aware of them at all. Neither was Faith, who is now weary of them, and is coming up with plans to fend those unknowns off.
But, in the end, those beings were harmless for quintillions of years, and, in all likelihood, have gone back into hiding. The real question… was if they would ever return, and then become a nuisance.
Xena: “…I guess that we cannot rule out that possibility.” She said with a grimace.
Runey: “Thinking about this, or rather, worrying over it… is pointless. Celia will probably figure out how to deal with them. Someone is depicting this story, so we will live.” She added with a shrug.
Xena: “Please… don’t make recall that this is all in the past, and we’re being narrated in a novel.” She replied, rubbing her head in pain.
Look… I am narrating all this, but this story is real, and so are all the people depicted within. To the readers, it is a story, though it did happen, and is happening before my eyes.
Such a revelation like this… would send most into an endless depression. As such, I made sure to correct Runey and Xena’s misconception.
Runey: “So… everything will work out, and we’re real people?” She repeated with a smile.
Xena: “Ah, I blame Celia for this headache.” She said with a groan, head still in pain.
Runey: “Just be happy, silly True Will. Speaking of happiness… I am going to go fu… have grand and romantic times with my wives!” She informed with a smug, slightly lewd tone, vanishing the exact moment that her words ended.
Xena: “(- _ -)”
