Chapter 31: Runey Required Assistance...
Xena: “If you weren’t my daughter, I would have erased your existence by now, Runey.” She angrily expressed with a sighful tone.
Runey: “…” “First the future Vulely, and now Xena is scolding me? Why must I, a being who wishes for nothing more than to spend time with my wives and family, suffer so?!” She secretly pouted in her thoughts.
Unfortunately, Runey didn’t fully comprehend the scope of the new features before putting them in the System. She got too invested in adding things, like most creatives tend to do…
Like in game design, there was now major feature-creep, and Runey couldn’t handle finishing them all by herself. Thus, leading to where we are now, with Runey begging like a true daughter for her mother’s help.
Runey: “Xena, did you marry Celia yet? You’re, in fact, nonchalantly referring to me as your daughter.” She asked with a curious tone.
Xena: “My SN Stat is too high, at 48%. I have discussed it with the rest of the family, but not Celia. I plan on fixing that first, before then asking for her hand in marriage.” She clarified with a happy tone, accidentally getting distracted by Runey’s tactful question.
Runey: “…” “Hehehehe… Silly Mom doesn’t realize that I am tricking her!!!” She gloated in her thoughts, not noticing that she was showing a smug face outwardly.

Xena: “(- _ -)”
Pinch!
Xena: “Yes, yes. Even billions of years old beings have personalities like yours, cheeky as all hell…” She deadpanly mused, still tenderly pinching her daughter’s cheeks.
Runey: “Then why punish me for who I am?!” She expressed with a greatly serious tone, which was instantly diminished, as her speech was mumbled from her mother’s pinching.
Xena: “Do please allow me the pleasure of rightly being able to scold my dearest daughter. Such a motherly privilege… I haven’t felt like this ever before!” She explained with a joyful tone and expression.
Runey: “( ’-’ ~)”
An Hour Later.
Once Xena finally got enough of scolding Runey, the two then went back to the task at hand. Rather, both of them needed some time to think through this problem, so though she will not admit it, Runey did benefit from the scolding.
Xena: “Which game did you play?” She asked with a groan.
Runey: “Hm? Mom, there are so many…” She replied with a confused thinking pose.
Xena: “Don’t treat me like an out-of-touch old lady. I play games too, I just meant what type of games you play.” She clarified in reply, sigh deepening.
Runey: “Eh, anything, really. Though, mainly AAA games. I haven’t gotten around to AA games, let alone indie ones.” She answered with a laugh.
Xena: “…” “That would explain her shift in… development of the System.” She inwardly thought, somewhat relieved to now understand why Runey added so many features.
Though, knowing that isn’t so important. Stripping the System of features was far too hard, which meant that Xena and Runey had to just ignore their annoyances, and fix all the unfinished/buggy new additions to the System…
