Chapter 53: Spoils.
She left in a hurry, but Cynthia still remembered to give Celia her reward for a quest well done. After not being able to take the strange looks from Carma, Mein, and Ria, any longer, Celia retreated to her room.
Celia: “Ruina, can you tell me about this sword?” She asked, only slightly interested.
Ruina: “Hm? No. You used to be able to inspect items, but it was seen as a waste of energy, so that feature was removed.” She denied.
Celia: “…”
Unlike that pompous, bright blue sword of that assassin, this weapon was a pure silver. With its appearance not being so… apparent, Cynthia explained that this is what correctly forged Orichalcum weaponry looks like.
Ruina: “With this sword, you honestly won’t have to replace it. I doubt that it’d ever be broken, either.” She added, making the sword more enticing in Celia’s eyes.
Celia: “Wow… I didn’t expect it to be… so good. Is it Enchanted?” She asked in reply.
Ruina: “Nope.”
Celia: “…”
Ruina: “But you can ask Midas to Enchant it, if you want. She’d likely agree.” She continued with a cheeky tone. “She is one of your wives, after all. Wait… did she actually get with Celia back then? She didn’t!!! Fuuuuck!!! Why must Celia attract all the yanderes??!!” She thought, her mind now in turmoil.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
While Ruina was questioning whether or not that she should further encourage Celia to get close with Midas, her mother had rushed out of her room. By the time Ruina noticed this, Celia had already made it halfway to the Guild Branch that the Goddess was owner of…
A Sprint Later.
Midas: “So, they turn into Humans? Damn…” She said with a click of her tongue.
Celia: “Huh? Why does that make you upset, Midas? I think it is pretty… romantic.” She confusedly replied.
Midas: “Oh, nothing. That was just my theory. Being proven right is quite nice, but not being the one to uncover the truth myself… is vexing.” She clarified with a wistful laugh.
Instead of instantly requesting for Midas to Enchant her sword, Celia explained the truth of the Vermila Tigers. Cynthia told this to Mein and Carma as well, and those two were already in the process of banning ownership of that species. At that point, them being able to turn into Humans, makes owning one slavery, not being a pet owner.
Midas: “Is that… an Orichalcum sword? And… it is even forged properly!” She exclaimed in awe.
Even with Midas being a Goddess, she didn’t have a single weapon as good as this sword. Without Celia asking, Midas went straight ahead to give it the best Enchantments she could give out. Such a weapon could accept any and all that Midas could dish out, you see…
Lotsa Enchanting Later.
Midas: “Give me your storage ring, and then strip.” She nonchalantly demanded.
Celia: “???”
Midas: “I mean… go to a private room, take it all off, place it in your storage ring, then let me come in and take it. Now that you’re this high of a Level, I need to redo the Enchantments on your weapons and gear.” She quickly adjusted her words, being blunt, and still rarely talking to people.
Celia: “Oh, okay. What about my new sword?” She asked with a head tilt.
Expecting just a simple answer, like Midas was already done Enchanting the weapon, Celia was then stunned. Why? Because… Midas’s words were even crazier than her prior sentence.
