Chapter 36: Oddish Being...
Larn had already told Celia’s group where the monster was, so they just went straight to it. Once they made it to their destination… confusion spread across the (six if you count Zia) five.
Elf: “S-save us, please!” She pleaded.
Celia: “…”
The queen had mentioned that there were ten total victims, which were being controlled. Though, when they got here… they found out that each one was an Elven Knight of high Level.
On top of that, they weren’t being controlled at all. Being (heh) Higher Beings, Celia and her wives could easily tell that these women were sane.
Midas: “What is the truth of this matter?” She asked, freeing the women.
Elf: “Queen Larn, Princess Ien… and our people… have all fallen into a trap. They’re being controlled, and we, those strong enough to resist the control… were chained up, as well as beaten so that we stay weakened.” She explained, still weak.
This location wasn’t a random place in the forest, like Larn said it was. Instead, this was clearly an outdoor prison, or even execution grounds.
Celia: “But… we didn’t detect anything wrong with them. Queen Larn, and her daughter, I mean.” She said with a thinking pose.
This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it.
A Different Elven Knight: “You’re mistaken, they’re perfectly fine.” She said with an awkward tone.
Maralia: “What does that mean?” She said with annoyance.
A Different Elven Knight: “We’re all currently in a dream. Or, at the very least, a false realm. From time to time, that being tricks Larn and others into wounding us, as we resist it.” She clarified with an angry tone and expression.
The being wisely didn’t attempt to harm Celia or the others, as… they were just too powerful. Even now, as it knows that the truth will soon be revealed to these Higher Beings… it struggled to come up with a plan for survival.
Ria: “We should go back to the castle… and then find this supposed being.” She proposed.
Elven Knight: “It lives in the castle’s dungeon.” She informed.
Despite being healed, the knights were in no mood or condition to fight further. Instead, Maralia tried to teleport them out of the dream, which ended up working. She merely told them to go and inform Alisa of this, just in case the worst happens.
Celia: “I hate it when things aren’t simple…” She said with a groan, as they walked back.
Guanyu: “With you, Celia… nothing is ever really simple. My heart goes out to how you feel about it, but I find your absurdness to be refreshing and forever entertaining.” She said with glee.
Maralia: “You would, ancient Cultivator. How long did it even take you… to learn true patience?” She asked with a scoff.
Walking back… was required. If they rushed over to the castle, it’d signal to the being that they’re worried, or desperate. And, them being Goddesses/High Goddesses… they couldn’t allow such hits to their pride.
Guanyu: “Patience? Hmm… around my 13,000s, if I recall correctly.” She answered with an unsure tone.
Everyone: “…”
