Chapter 40: A Solo Trip, For The First Time In Awhile.
Runey had gone off without even a hint as to why, so everyone was decently upset. With the System frozen, no EXP could be gained, and no one can even use it right now.
On top of that… Xena didn’t have the authority to unfreeze it, as, since Runey was the one mainly fixing the System, she gave her daughter full control and oversight of it. Luckily, Celia is levelheaded, and volunteered to find Runey.
Celia: “Where should I hide?” She asked, to no one at all.
Crickets!
Celia: “Vulely, I am talking to you.” She clarified with a giggle.
Narrator Vulely: “Why me? And… why do you need a place to hide?” I ask with a deeply confused tone, speaking directly into Celia’s mind, rather than appearing before her.
Currently, Celia traveled to a different Dimension, a modern one. She was just sipping tea at a random, upscale café. It was just Celia herself on this mission, so all this, included with her question for me… has left this little narrator absolutely bewildered beyond belief!
Celia: “I trust that Runey left in a hurry for a purely good reason.” Was what she said next.
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
Narrator Vulely: “Huh? So… you have no intention of finding Runey? You willingly left your families side, just to placate them?!” I accuse in even more confusion.
Celia: “No?” She instantly denied with a raised eyebrow, like I was the crazy one.
Narrator Vulely: “Then…” I say, hoping for her to continue, or at least clarify.
Celia: “Runey probably went back to Home, a place that I do not have access to. Though you see it as merely placating my family, on this trip, I am primarily looking for a good Dimension for us to settle down in.” She explained with a serious tone.
Ah, is Celia talking out loud, in public? Nope. Being from a modern Dimension originally, Celia knew that talking to no one at all… would get her a check-up by well-meaning police. As such, she had a fake Bluetooth earphone on, which was still used in the year of this Dimension. With that distraction done, all so I could calm down, let’s go back to our conversation…
Narrator Vulely: “…Zena could get you into Home, temporarily.” I inform with a sigh.
Celia: “She can’t. Xena took a deal, which guaranteed Runey’s wives the ultimate luxury in Home, as a gesture of goodwill. However, the price was that she lost access to Home for at least 100 years. How’d you forget about that?” She denied with a sigh.
Narrator Vulely: “(~OAO)”
Eeeeeehhhh?! When did that happen?!?! Let me check real quick… It’s true! Dammit… I must have overvalued my skills, and cut out valuable scenes from my narration… I will have to keep this a secret!!! Luckily, Celia couldn’t see my face, so I have the chance to play it off…
Narrator Vulely: “There are a few others that have access to Home, and who can get you in. Perhaps Xena knows them, was what I meant.” I corrected, sternly, like I wasn’t a lying fool, who messed up on her sole job…
Celia: “Yes, and one is here in this Dimension.” She nonchalantly dropped.
Narrator Vulely: “…”
